World of tanks management. World of Tanks tank management for beginners

5 years and 4 months ago Comments: 13

Good day, dear tankers! Today I will describe the main controls of a tank in the game World of Tanks. The article will be useful reading for novice tank crews as an instruction manual for the operation of a combat vehicle.

Quite simple and intuitive, especially for people who have played computer games more than once. I will list the main keys in the game with default control settings.

In version 9.0, new graphic effects have been introduced into the game, designed to make tank battles even more beautiful and spectacular.

However, it is important to understand that these innovations will also affect the performance of the game. For this reason, the first time you launch the game after installing update 9.0, the graphics settings will be automatically determined on each account.

In most cases this is enough for a comfortable game, but

  1. By choosing from the two proposed graphics quality options, you predetermine the choice in the remaining categories in this tab.
  2. The quality of textures does not depend on the performance of the card, but it is demanding on video memory.
  3. Game performance with this setting depends on the power of the video card.
  4. Shadow quality is highly dependent on overall system performance, affecting both the video card and the CPU.
  5. It is recommended to disable this option if performance decreases in sniper mode.
  1. Here you can adjust the display of smoke, dust, sparks, flames, explosions, etc. All these objects depend not so much on the video card, but on the central processor.
  1. Various additional graphic effects: air refraction, bloom effect, etc. Strongly depends on the performance of the video card and moderately on the amount of video memory.

Many users will find it useful in paragraph 20 “Dynamically changing the quality of effects” - automatic simplification of effects when system performance drops.

Enabling the option will allow the game to adapt to the speed of your computer.

If you experience a performance hit after installing the update, we recommend taking a few minutes to fine-tune the client manually.

Updated: from 04/15/2014 - the article has been updated, game version 0.9.0

1. Select the graphics quality from those offered in the drop-down menu, or use the “Recommended” button - the system will automatically select the most suitable graphics quality for the game, based on the parameters of your computer. Graphics Quality settings affect the settings in the Advanced tab. Select a value in the Graphics Quality field if you do not want to configure every option on the Advanced tab.

2. 3D render resolution. Decreasing the parameter value can improve game performance on computers with weak graphics cards.

3. Selecting the size of the game window. If “Full Screen Mode” is enabled, the field name changes to “Screen Resolution”. If the set resolution in full screen mode does not match the current monitor resolution, the image may be distorted. Increasing the parameter increases the load on the video card and can reduce the performance of the game. You can reduce the load on the video card by adjusting the 3D rendering resolution.

4. Enabling full screen mode expands the game to the entire monitor of your computer.

5. Limit frame rate to 60 frames per second. Used when the image on the bottom of the screen is shaking or lags relative to the top.

6. When this setting is enabled, the edges and edges of objects become smoother.

7. Angle of view. The normal viewing angle for humans is about 95°. The smaller the angle, the closer objects become, but the peripheral view is reduced. Does not affect game performance.

8. A mechanism for adapting the color palette for people with color vision problems.

9. Monitor refresh rate. You can view the monitor's refresh rate in the settings of the monitor or its driver. Please note that the displayed values depend on the current monitor resolution. Install monitor drivers to display supported values.

10. If the set aspect ratio does not match the current aspect ratio of the monitor, it may cause the image to stretch or shrink horizontally. The setting allows you to equalize the proportions on monitors with non-square pixels.

11. Here you can select a monitor for the game if you have several connected to your computer.

12. Change the brightness of the image. Works only in full screen mode. Windowed mode uses the current operating system settings.

13. The color filter allows you to select the visual design of the game from the proposed options.

14. Moving the slider changes the visibility of the selected color filter in the interface. The picture above shows the changes.

If you need more advanced graphics settings, go to the "Advanced" tab. Please note: Most of the settings below are only available for the Enhanced Graphics renderer.

Some settings and their values are not available for standard graphics.

Attention: Settings that significantly affect the performance/performance of the game are placed in a separate block “Significantly affecting performance”. In the image they are indicated by numbers 3–7 and 12–16.

Lowering or disabling these settings can significantly improve game performance.

It is important to pay attention to some points here:

Attention: Points 8–19, 21 slightly affect the performance of the game, which means that when setting values, you should be guided by your own wishes for the quality of each element (water, trees, landscape, etc.).

Good day to all!

Newbies, rejoice! Today you can learn how to properly set up the game.

This is important, because by setting up the game correctly, you can play comfortably. Let's look at the basic game settings.

Experienced gamers have long known how this is done.

Therefore, the article is unlikely to be useful to them. But for “newbies” who are just starting to play tanks, it’s worth spending time reading.

The settings will increase the profitability of the game and playing World of Tanks will become much more comfortable. You will learn how to adjust graphics, aim, markers, how to increase FPS and other important points.

Game settings: why are they needed?

Graphics settings in any game, including World of Tanks, are necessary. With them, the chance of winning increases, and the gameplay becomes more enjoyable.

Often, FPS drops interfere with movement, and shots often miss the target. The result is that the enemy gains an advantage over you.

FPS is a display of frames per second. The value depends on the processor power, the optimal amount of RAM, and PC configuration. The most optimal option is starting from 50 frames. The best parameters can be achieved by having high-performance computers, optimal RAM, and powerful processors.

But what if you don’t have everything listed? Is it possible to configure the game correctly? Undoubtedly.

Setting it up correctly

Now you will learn how to compensate for weak points and maximize the configuration. Smart World of Tanks settings will help with this. The game has many settings that affect not only the image quality, but also the gameplay as a whole.

However, please note that there are also settings that do not affect performance. They are in the "Game" tab. Here you can customize selections of battles, a mini-map, chat, in a word, every little thing. To do this, select and put a tick in the right place.

But the rest of the online game settings are important. They will help you change the quality of graphics and adjust the screen extension. At the same time, the choice of quality must be approached with caution, without overestimating the performance of your PC.

We study how to set up the World of Tanks game for battle

1. General settings. Located in general settings. Here I think everything is clear.

2. Spam is disabled in Chat and message censorship is enabled. Here you can accept friend requests, invitations to platoons, and messages.

3. In the “types of random battles” section, “assault” and “counter battle” are disabled. In such modes, the maps are the same as in random battles, but the victory condition and the location of the bases change. Even in the “Counter Battle” there is only one base left, victory goes to the one who destroys all enemies or captures the base first. And in “Storm” one of the teams is engaged in protecting the base, the second – accordingly, defending it. Personally, I don't like these types of battles, but you can try it for a change.

4. Option “Combat interface” - here the “Optics effect” is disabled (considerably spoils the picture) and the display of a combat vehicle that destroys you (personally makes me nervous).

5. Be sure to check the boxes next to “horizontal stabilization in a sniper scope” and “enable dynamic camera.” If you don't do this, you won't be able to shoot on the move.

6. Regarding the mini-map options, it is better to disable them and use the mini-map mod, which has an extended feature. When using the mod, disable the parameters. If this is not done, the parameters will decrease due to duplication.

7. We also check the box “display distinctive marks” - this allows you to exchange guns with other players.

General settings

Above I wrote that you can set automatic settings for World of Tanks. But it’s better not to be lazy and do it manually.

There are many types of settings.

Graphics quality can be adjusted by going to “Advanced Settings”. Given the naivety of a powerful computer, we raise everything to the maximum (slide the sliders forward). If the hardware is weak, we think about what FPS indicators are important to increase or decrease. Quite a weak PC? Move the sliders to minimum. Well, if all else fails, download mods or an assembly.

Problems with sound are easy to set up. Adjusts the sound sliders to a comfortable volume. The microphone and voice communication are adjusted in the same way.

In the “Control” tab you can change the current control settings and sight sensitivity.

In “Scope Settings” you can configure the standard game crosshair. There are both arcade and sniper sights, the type of aiming, markers, and weapon indicator change.

Markers are configured in the corresponding tab, where the usual and alternative markers of destroyed tanks (allies and opponents) are adjusted.

How to configure a video card?

Now let's figure out how to configure the video card of the World of Tanks game. You can consider this using the example of NVIDIA. To configure drivers, right-click on any empty space.

You will see a list with the following parameters: 3D - adjust image settings - settings according to the 3D application - apply.

Select the map control panel - manage 3D parameters.

Now set the following parameters: CUDA / texture filtering / anisotropic filtering / multi-display acceleration / mixed GPU / vertical sync pulse / triple buffering / background light shading / anti-aliasing / maximum number of pre-rendered frames / gamma correction, power management mode / anti-aliasing / parameters. If there are no options, configure the ones you have.

These settings will make the card work correctly.

Graphics settings

Here you can choose from 3 levels of “graphics quality” - high, medium, low. You can also configure it manually.

You can choose from the following options:

1. Fog display.

2. Water display.

3. Drawing distance.

4. Object.

5. Game effect.

7. Drawing distance.

Control

The placement of all controls available during battle can be customized in Touch Controls. Attention: some are disabled in the general management settings.

Once you click on the selected item, a green area will appear. Within its limits, the element moves and there is a slider with which the sizes of the elements change. You need to configure the interface so that playing is as comfortable as possible.

In “control” you can adjust the sensitivity of the joystick, camera and other game parameters.

1. On – the sight will constantly follow the captured targets.

2. Auto-aim – influences the behavior of the auto-aim.

3. By button – makes it possible to turn off/on the auto-aim during battles for arcade and sniper modes.

4. In arcade – automatic aim tracking in arcade mode.

5. Left-handed mode - swaps the shooting button and movement joystick.

6. Off – the sight will not automatically follow the target.

7. Free view – disables/enables areas that allow you to rotate the camera away from the gun during battle.

8. Dynamic joystick – changes the movement joystick.

Markers

Here the settings are made for the markers of those players that are displayed above their combat vehicles during battles, for the alternative and standard modes.

For any type of military equipment, the following parameters are included: type of equipment, icon, model, player name, vehicle durability, level.

Setting up the World of Tanks game correctly is not difficult at all. Even if this is the first time, just read what you wrote again. I'm sure everything will work out!

Once you complete the settings, you will be amazed at how many new possibilities will open up for you. Lack of productivity and still get everything done? You'll have to think about buying a new video card.

In the Settings window, you can change various features in the game as you wish.

A game

Use game settings to enable display of the date and time of messages, enable censorship of messages in chat, enable the ability to save the recipient to automatically send a message during battle, and also remember the position and size of windows in the game. Here you can also configure command panels on the Battle screen, minimap transparency, after-death post-effect, activate the server crosshair and enable/disable some types of battles. The Gametrix configuration panel appears only after connecting the vibronkid.

To change game settings:

  1. Click MenuSettingsA game.
  2. Change the options you want and click Apply.
  3. Click OK and return to the game.

In previous articles, we talked about which will allow you to play more effectively, and also looked at those that give a significant advantage over your opponent, if you haven’t read it, be sure to check it out. The method described in this article is the final touch of masterful game setup.

Despite the fact that I have a high-quality mouse and mousepad, which made the game control much better, I noticed that sometimes micro-slippage still occurs when shooting using the left mouse button. The twitching of the sight can be clearly seen when watching a replay of the battle. This leads to non-penetration where penetration is almost guaranteed, as confirmed by many experienced players. Having understood the causes of the problem, I began to look for ways to fix it.

Mouse A4Tech XL-740K

The first thing that came to mind was to assign some kind of key on the keyboard to shoot instead of the left mouse button, which should automatically eliminate any micro-movements of the mouse when shooting. I decided to use the Spacebar because it's long, easy to press with my left thumb, and I don't use it to stop the tank to shoot.

Immediately after assigning a shot to the “Space”, I noticed that the number of non-penetrations and ricochets had decreased significantly and the projectile penetrated thin armor like in the good old days. But an unfortunate drawback was discovered... “Space” was convenient to use for shots on artillery, anti-tank guns, heavy and medium tanks at long distances. But as soon as it came to close combat, where reaction speed is much more important and the shot is fired while moving, using “Space” turned out to be not so convenient. In the midst of a round dance with opponents, the index finger of the right hand greedily clicked on the usual left mouse button, which happened somehow reflexively on a subconscious level. Moreover, it was not immediately possible to understand why the shot did not fire and whether it happened at all, since everyone around was shooting and the shell-shocked crew members were screaming like victims. And you remember about the “Space” key already in the hangar...

It became clear that this solution was not ideal and a new idea immediately arose - to assign two keys to the same action. That is, so that the shot occurs both when you press the Spacebar and the left mouse button. But, as you know, the “World of Tanks” game engine does not provide for such settings. But it doesn’t matter, I thought, a yoga hacker trained on French Olivetti, German Robotrons and domestic Spectrum will always find a solution And start digging into the game files... But not here - that was... I was able to find where the key combinations are assigned and understand the scripts, I registered several keys for one action, but bad luck, the game engine processes only the first of the found combinations, and simply ignores the second

But we are not made with a finger, whispered pride, and were born in the USSR. There are alternative solutions to this problem! On the Internet I found many programs for reassigning keyboard and mouse keys. But no matter how much I fought with them, I never got the required functionality... Or maybe I’m not that smart, a bad thought crept in. But, as it turned out, many users were looking (and are still looking) for the ability to assign two keys to one action in games and various programs.

In general, it was decided to use the physical abilities of a person, given to him by nature, and not to endure the last gray matter... During the game, before shooting at a medium or long distance, well aligned, I simply pressed the mouse with my palm to the mat so that the sight did not waver the most crucial moment. This method had one drawback - sometimes you forget about it...

Headphones A4Tech Bloody G430

Now comes the fun part! Recently, quite by accident, I came across a utility designed to solve such problems. It's called "Key Remapper". And lo and behold, it really works and is very easy to use! You can download it in the "" section.

After installation, launch the program and click on the appropriate link to add a new action.

Click in the topmost field with the mouse and press “Space” or any other key that you want to use as an additional one to shoot.

Then left-click on the second field just below, leave everything as it is and click “OK”. It should look like the screenshot below.

Now that the program is running, you can shoot using both the left mouse button and the Spacebar.

MSI GTX 1050 Ti graphics card

In the same way, you can reassign any keys and their combinations on the keyboard and mouse. For example, in other games you can assign a complex key combination to just one button! For each game you can create your own profile (key settings) and enable it as needed.

Without additional settings, you need to launch the program immediately before entering the game, and close it when exiting, because key reassignment will occur in Windows and all programs.

However, the program's capabilities are much wider, and if everything is configured correctly, reassigning keys will only work where you need it (only in the game).

The program can be paused, which will temporarily disable key reassignment.

This is convenient if you, like me, will respond to user comments between battles, and without spaces the words look ugly. Just before returning to battle, do not forget to uncheck the pause box

But there is an even more advanced and convenient method that the most sophisticated users will not resist! You can configure the program so that it reassigns keyboard shortcuts only in specific applications (games or programs). To do this you need to add exceptions.

Enter a meaningful name for the exception and click Add.

Find the “WorldOfTanks.exe” file in the game folder, select it with the mouse and click “Open”.

Make sure the main game executable is added correctly and click OK.

Now reassigning keys will only work in game. And if you create a profile for each game and link it in the same way to the main executable file, then you will remember the existence of this program only when you receive indescribable pleasure in games. You can forget about manually starting, closing and pausing!

Thus, key reassignment will be automatically enabled in the necessary games and programs.

Hard drive A-Data Ultimate SU650 120GB

The utility also has other advanced settings that allow you to set unique behavior of the keys: hold, trigger when released, delay between clicks, completely disabled (for example, the “Windows” key, which, if accidentally pressed, leads to minimizing the game and going to the desktop).

But that is not all! Using the Key Remapper utility, you can turn any keyboard into a gaming keyboard! For example, assign keyboard shortcuts to the F1-F12 buttons, which is equivalent to programmable keys on gaming keyboards.

In general, I was amazed by the functionality of this program, and I consider its author a recognized (by me) genius! Take advantage of it, assign several keys to one action and shoot more accurately!

Below you can download a program for reassigning keys.

What would seem simpler than replacing a standard button to battle! WOT? But that’s not the case; simply replacing the picture is not enough! And I don’t really want to download any files from suspicious sites, given the fact that virus files of mods, assemblies, modpacks, etc. are increasingly found on the Internet.

And it would be nice if there were just viruses that a good antivirus can easily deal with, but in fact, some especially gifted citizens (you all know them) manage to insert all kinds of installers from classmates, VK, mail, etc. into all the mods that they post on their websites. infuriating browsers like Amigo... brrr... freaks in one word! Well, of course, not everyone likes it. You forget to uncheck the box and then go off for an hour to clean your computer of any GOV*A. Well, okay, it’s all lyrics... How can you still change the “Battle!” button? WOT without installing mods, I’ll tell you further:

How to change a button to battle! WOT in the hangar

First, go to the Internet and download the program to your computer Virtaal. We will need it to open and edit client or mod files with the extension .mo
The program can be downloaded from here or from Yandex disk.

We follow the path: your disk:\Games\WorldOfTanks\res_mods\client version\text\lc_messages this is if you have mods installed if there is no mod, follow this path: your drive:\Games\WorldOfTanks\res\text\lc_messages looking for a file there menu.mo that's exactly what we need
  2. In point two We make a copy of this file, as they say, just in case 😉 so that you can restore it without reinstalling the client (this is long and tedious)
  3. Third- select our file and
  4. Fourth- click “open”

It could also be something like this:

Then we save the whole thing:

  1. First- our replaced phrase
  2. Second- click on the “file” menu

Two windows will come out. There is no need to enter anything here. Click “OK” and that’s it!
