Mods for Skyrim top 10. Best mods for Skyrim

In previous games in the series, when creating a character, the player had to choose a class, basic skills and zodiac signs. Right now the only choice that affects the game is race. Not to say that this matter is important; An orc can also be made into a mage, and a high elf can be dressed in heavy armor. But it is still useful to know what each race is predisposed to.

Local cats even look like thieves. My eyes just dart around.

Argonian

Skills: +10 to pickpocket, +5 to light armor, stealth, pickpocket, restoration and alteration

Peculiarities: underwater breathing, disease resistance 50%

Spells: flame, healing

Special skill: Ten times the speed of health regeneration for one minute

Argonians are lizard people, inhabitants of the Black Marshes in the southeast of Tamriel. Of all the races they have the most unusual appearance. The skills suggest a slight bias towards theft, but a special skill (they can be used once a day with minor exceptions - see Khajiit) will save an Argonian in the harshest battle and is more suitable for warriors.

Resistance to disease is useless, since even vampirism in the initial stages can be easily cured with a first aid kit or a trip to the altar. Underwater breathing is rarely useful in the game. Therefore, to summarize: it is better to make an Argonian a warrior or a thief, but they do not shine with anything special.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: The hero cannot fight while afloat or underwater. But enemies can, and this is an excellent reason not to go into the water unless absolutely necessary.

Breton

Skills: +10 to spellcasting, +5 to eloquence, alteration, restoration, alchemy and illusion

Peculiarities: magic resistance 25%

Spells: flame, healing, calling a pet

Special skill: Enemy spells are 50% absorbed (turned into mana) for one minute

The Bretons are residents of the northwestern province of High Rock (the same one where the kingdom of Daggerfall is located). Skills and features open the direct path to magic for the Bretons, but I do not recommend making pure magicians in the game, because according to the current state of affairs (version 1.1), their life is much worse than that of warriors and thieves.

But you can make a warrior out of a Breton - moreover, an excellent warrior and very resistant to magic. There is not a lot of magic damage in Skyrim, but a lot, and for a warrior it is very important to withstand the blow - especially if it is dealt from afar and you still have to run to the enemy. The special skill goes there too.

High Elf

Skills: +10 Illusion, +5 Affliction, Destruction, Enchantment, Alteration, and Restoration

Peculiarities: +50 mana

Spells: flame, healing, rage

Special skill: Mana regenerates at a rate of 25% of maximum every second for one minute

Pure magicians. It doesn't get any cleaner. And it’s a shame that the developers showed such dislike for pure magicians. An increased supply of mana will not help at high levels, where enemies will have a lot of health. Racial mana regeneration, of course, is still a battery, but you can use it only once a day - there’s not much to undo here.

However, don’t let all this bother you. If you don’t disdain holes in the balance (enchantments that cost zero mana, for example), then you can also play as mages.

Imperial

Skills: +10 to recovery, +5 to enchantment, destruction, one-handed weapons, block, heavy armor

Peculiarities:small increase to the portions of gold that the hero finds in chests

Spells:flame, healing

Special skill: Nearby enemies stop attacking for one minute

The Imperial is a standard warrior, one piece. For guests from Cyrodiil, the developers suggest using one-handed weapons with a shield, healing as needed, and wearing heavy armor. Almost everything sounds good, but heavy armor can be replaced with light armor. The difference in protection is not so great (especially for blacksmiths), and light armor weighs much less and is more comfortable to wear.

The ability to take a time out in close combat is also very useful. But remember that a happy brief moment of peace and friendship can be ruined by your companions if at that moment they decide to continue the fight (and they will).

Khajiit

Skills: +10 to stealth, +5 to one-handed weapons, shooting, hacking, pickpocketing and alchemy

Peculiarities:four times damage in fights (without weapons)

Spells:flame, healing

Special skill: Night vision mode for one minute (can be used as long as you like)

The cat-like Khajiit are cute guys. They come from the south, from Elsweyr, and we are supposed to make them into typical thieves. But I would say that they are worth taking purely for their appearance. Why? But because:

  • Quadruple damage in fights is almost useless - unless you win fist fights, and there are few of them in the game.
  • Night vision is realistic, but generally useless, since the dungeons are already very light. And in the fresh air there is little benefit from it, especially since you can always wait for the morning outside.

In addition, it is not clear why this night vision turns off with a click every minute? You can turn it on again immediately. Wouldn't it be better to make it last until the player decides to knock it out? The developers clearly didn’t think of something here.

Forest Elf

Skills: +10 to shooting, +5 to alchemy, pickpocketing, lockpicking, stealth and light armor

Peculiarities: resistance to disease and poison 50%

Spells: flame, healing

Special skill: Tames any animal for one minute

Wood elves are archers and also thieves. The bonus to their skills tells us this. But with everything else they are completely in shambles. Resistance to poisons is very rarely useful; I already spoke about diseases - they are harmless. And in order to tame an animal (and once a day), you must first find it. This is not easy to do in the fresh air, and even more so in the dungeons.

The appearance of the forest elves is also not very pleasant. In general, an unsuccessful race - neither here nor there.

North

Skills: +10 to two-handed weapons, +5 to blacksmithing, blocking, one-handed weapons, speech and light armor

Peculiarities: cold resistance 50%

Spells: flame, healing

Special skill: All nearby enemies run away in panic for thirty seconds

Nords are classic warriors. They can swing a huge ax over their heads, they can carry a shield and a sword. In a difficult situation, like the Imperials, they can take a break for half a minute - however, only if the enemies are nearby.

But the coolest thing about the Nords is their natural resistance to cold. I can safely say that this is the best game feature in Skyrim. Why? Because it’s cold here, and enemies here often hit you with cold magic. Many dragons breathe cold. Cold icicles are thrown by witches and sorcerers in the fresh air and in dungeons. And finally, the cold blows from the Nordic tombs - the Vikings risen from the dead love to freeze those who disturbed them. And you will often go to tombs. So, if in doubt, take the Nord, you won’t regret it. This race is both useful and quite nice (certainly more beautiful than orcs and elves).

Orc

Skills: +10 to heavy armor, +5 to blacksmithing, blocking, two-handed and one-handed weapons and enchanting

Peculiarities: No

Spells: flame, healing

Special skill: For a minute in melee combat, incoming damage is halved and damage dealt is doubled

Against the backdrop of the mighty Nords, the orcs are somehow lost, although they also seem to be warriors. Besides, if I were the orcs, I would be offended by the developers for not giving them a single resistance. Even a small increase in health would be welcome. But, alas, the orcs turned out to be unworthy of even such a small thing.

Nevertheless, the ability to take a whole minute and crush everyone around with almost impunity is useful in battles with bosses. But once a day... Somehow it’s not enough if the player is not ready to force an orc into bed after each dungeon.

Redguard

Skills: +10 to one-handed weapons, +5 to blacksmithing, shooting, altering, breaking and blocking

Peculiarities: poison resistance 50%

Spells: flame, healing

Special skill: within a minute, energy is restored at a tenfold speed

The Redguards, neighbors of the orcs in the province of Hammerfell, are also warriors. Alas, in their area they are losing to both the Nords and the Orcs. Their racial feature is somewhat stupid; poisons in Skyrim are not such a big problem.

There are few spiders in the game; they cannot seriously poison you, and other than them you can only find poisonous creatures in Dwemer ruins. But an endless supply of energy once a day allows the Redguards to sprint for a full minute, bludgeon enemies with enhanced blows and snipe from afar. Not God knows what, but also useful.

Dark Elf

Skills: +10 Destruction, +5 Stealth, Light Armor, Illusion, Alchemy and Alteration

Peculiarities: fire resistance 50%

Spells: flame, treatment, sparks

Special skill: Flame cocoon deals 10 damage over time to all surrounding enemies over one minute

Dark elves, the inhabitants of Morrowind, are specific magicians. Judging by their features and skills, the developers wanted to make them “combat wizards,” wearing light armor, brandishing some kind of melee weapon and casting spells. This class is quite viable in the game, and resistance to fire, although not as useful as resistance to cold, will help in battle with flamethrowing dragons.

Dwemer ruins are not only puzzles and poisonous creatures, but also valuable sources of soul stones.

* * *

And now the summary:

  • The best warriors: Nord, Breton, Orc.
  • The best magicians: Breton, high elf, dark elf.
  • The best thieves and shooters: here no one has a fundamental advantage, choose according to your taste.

Two months have passed since the game was released. During this time, craftsmen made about a thousand mods, found dozens of bugs and various errors. Some of the user developments are aimed at correcting a number of shortcomings of Bethesda Softworks. PC Gamer decided to select the 20 best.

SkyUI

The user interface is by definition bland, slow, clunky, and extremely inconvenient. The appearance of such a mod as SkyUI is a completely logical and expected move. This mod not only fixes problems with the Bethesda interface, but also improves it at all levels. Icons will now be used to easily distinguish item types. Additional information will be clearly displayed. Inventory is possible: items can now be easily sorted by cost and weight.

Midas Magic

ENBSeries

Our compatriot Boris Vorontsov created a mod that improves the graphics in Skyrim several times. This man managed to do a lot of work for many games. Now his hands have reached the Bethesda Softworks project.

Skyrim HD

The mod adds updated textures to the game in HD quality. The result makes itself felt.

FXAA Post Process Injector

Xenius Character Enhancement
Val's Crafting Meltdown
Tytanis

The creator of Tytanis, CrosshairNY, considers it the Ultimate mod. In fact, fashion has a huge variety of different bells and whistles that we can talk about for a long time. CrosshairNY's future plans are even more ambitious: introducing farming, fishing and carpentry work.

Millenia Weapon Retexture Project
Deadly dragons

If you think killing dragons is so easy, then this mod will ruin your life. Not only will several new species of winged creatures appear, but they will also become stronger. This means that you will have to stock up on arrows, swords, armor, mana, spells and other bells and whistles in order to defeat at least one fire-breathing asshole.

Quality World Map with Roads

It is immediately clear that the creator of the mod is not only an intelligent, but also a rational person. And all because I made one of the most convenient updates. I think many people in Skyrim got lost and couldn’t find their way. Now all this is in this mod, which you can download.

Weapons of the Third Era
Jaysus Swords

You can also read Jaysus Swords, but this is far from true. The creator of the mod did a great job and created about 38 very beautiful and incredible swords that can be downloaded from here.

Realistic Water Textures

Was the game truly the pinnacle of the gaming industry?

Before I begin my merciless and provocative analysis of one of the most popular games of this generation, let me make something clear up front: I love The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Most of the quests are quite fun, the game's scenery is beautiful, the controls are (often) simple and intuitive, and the game's open world is sure to please fans of traditional RPGs.

Now it's time to voice a less popular opinion: Skyrim is vastly overrated and completely undeservedly considered one of the best games of the last decade. It is far from both the title of the best Western RPG of our time, and the title of the best Bethesda game of our generation (this title, of course, is firmly assigned to Fallout 3).

Of course, Skyrim at the time of its release was a real technical breakthrough and the most accessible large-scale RPG with a giant open world for beginners, but its time has definitely passed.

Fights with dragons look cool, but happen too often, which devalues their significance.

Why is she so popular?

The Elder Scrolls V has become more than just a fan-favorite RPG; it has managed to penetrate almost every corner of gaming culture in one form or another. From webcomics to references in other games, Skyrim has been a fixture in the media space since its release in 2011. Every r/gaming Reddit page had at least one Skyrim-related post every day, and every major RPG drew comparisons to Skyrim in one way or another.

Bethesda actively contributed to increasing the popularity of the game by regularly releasing ports and re-releases of Skyrim, and in such quantities that it became a separate topic for memes. Whenever a new platform came on the market, be it a virtual reality headset or the Nintendo Switch, Bethesda found a way to quickly port Skyrim to that platform.

How did we get here? Of course, Skyrim received a lot of flattering reviews at the time of release and showed very impressive sales results. However, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Nintendogs could boast exactly the same thing, but for some reason no one remembers these projects when it comes to the best games, and even more so if these conversations take place 6.5 years after their release.

Moreover, Bethesda continues to release other games (during this time, a game based on the Elder Scrolls universe was also released). So why does Skyrim remain something special in the hearts of gamers and the game designers of the game itself?

From my point of view, it’s all about this “ordinariness” of Skyrim. The game is not so bad that it will turn off gamers, and it is not so good in all its aspects that it will keep all players interested.

Of course, some people do consider Skyrim a masterpiece, but note that all the words used to describe the game's positive aspects were also used to describe the game's spiritual successors, which expanded on the strengths of Skyrim and largely eliminated the shortcomings of the original formula.

In Skyrim, everything is done at a quite decent, but not ideal level.

The basic concepts and feature set of Skyrim look pretty solid. Well-timed button presses lead to exciting real-time battles. The inventory is easy to navigate, so even first-time RPG players will not experience any inconvenience. And a lot of quests in the open world allow you to complete the game at a comfortable pace.

Moreover, the abundance of character creation and customization tools, as well as the complete lack of linearity, gives the player a unique experience, allowing him to essentially become the director of his own story. Plus, the world of Skyrim is huge and rich in various details, and each city and region has a unique style and its own characteristics.

And while the ability to create your own story is the dream of any RPG fan, it is difficult to argue that Skyrim truly does everything (or almost everything) better than all the projects that came after it (or even projects that came out long before the release of Skyrim itself). Some of Skyrim's problems can be attributed to outdated graphics or technology, while all other shortcomings are due precisely to a lack of ingenuity.

For example, the battles in Skyrim look good, but the genre has already moved towards battles with a fixed camera and a hitbox system, as presented in the Souls series, and away from the concept of a “first-person shooter, but with swords and fireballs flying out of hands "

Swinging an ax without a proper aiming system may have been fun in 2011, but now the mechanics feel outdated; It’s very strange to realize that a powerful and experienced warrior defeats his enemies simply by waving his bladed weapons in all directions.

Dark Souls forces players to think through every swing of a sword or cast a spell, and Skyrim seems to say: “Everything will be fine if you run around the enemy in circles.” The game offers several fighting styles, allowing you to combine archery, spells and sword attacks, but there is no depth to the combat system to speak of.

Okay, everything related to the Dark Brotherhood still looks great.

Many praised the incredible abundance of quests in the game and the deep presentation of the plot. Yes, there are indeed a lot of different tasks available in the game, but I would not say that they are exciting. These are, of course, not “find and fetch” quests (which are considered a kind of cliché in gaming), but the characters in these mini-stories are desperately lacking in development.

Many NPCs clearly have ulterior motives, and they don't even try to hide this fact, and therefore the plot twists simply fail to surprise. Other characters even play modest roles as quest givers, having neither backstory nor motives.

Of course, in a game as large as Skyrim, there are bound to be outstanding quests, and I am by no means going to ignore their existence. The plot threads dedicated to the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild have enough tension, character development and action, and the story does not slide into banal moralizing and didacticism.

These quests assume that the player is a pragmatic person, pursuing his own interests and trying to find out as many of the dark secrets of this world as possible. This kind of honesty is sorely lacking in popular adventure games or RPGs that attempt to shame the player for morally wrong behavior.

However, two quality storylines are not enough to cover up the sins of Skyrim's other stories. It is clear that in this universe theft and murder are commonplace, and people live by the principle of “kill or be killed,” but this is only one side of the coin. Presented in Skyrim, it looks gloomy and depressing, and this picture is only diluted by rare bards in taverns and beautiful landscapes.

But where is all the joy? Where's the fun? Take, for example, The Witcher 3 with its heavy plot twists and ambiguous actions of the heroes; however, there was also a place for quests about actors, fairy tales, games in pubs and even weddings. Or Fallout 3 - the darkest game in my memory, which, however, did not forget about comedic elements and optimism.

Skyrim looks like a clear example of the phrase “survival of the fittest,” and therefore it is not surprising that quests with murder and theft turned out better than others.

The best thing about Skyrim is the character creation system and the heavy emphasis on customization. The game offers an infinite number of ways to change the appearance and race of the hero (or anti-hero?), which, coupled with a completely open world, allows you to play out a completely unique story. You can play as a mercenary, traveling wizard, dragon hunter, necromancer, merchant, blacksmith, etc. Skyrim gives you endless possibilities, something I haven't seen in any console RPG before.

But even with this in mind, the abundance of options offered robs each of them of depth, since it is very difficult to play out your story in a game that is not tied to a specific character or storyline. I understand that this is a subjective nitpick, but I was saddened by the fact that not a single character in the game reacted in any way to my appearance or race, and therefore it was difficult for me to believe in the credibility of what was happening.

I'll use Geralt of Rivia as an example again. At the time of the events of The Witcher 3, he was already a fully formed personality with a specific history and relationships with other heroes, but his backstory and attitude to the world around him made each dialogue as realistic and convincing as possible.

Link in the Zelda series may not speak a word, but in each game he has a backstory that makes his attempts to save the kingdom of Hyrule sound from a story perspective; the game does not throw us into the center of the game world with the words “save the princess.”

I understand that players need freedom to create their own stories, but if at the very beginning they tell you something along the lines of “You're dragonborn, go do some quests,” you don't see much point in it all.

This is my main complaint about Skyrim: everything here is done at a quite decent, but not ideal level. Decent combat system, quests, controls, environment, etc. (and the music, by the way, is simply phenomenal). And I understand that my criticism is more like nitpicking, but this does not mean that an ordinary game, albeit high-quality in every sense, deserves the title of the best representative of the genre.

Conclusion

Skyrim is perhaps the most accessible open world RPG for beginners. The combat here is challenging, but not hardcore, and the inventory is noticeably easier to use than in The Witcher 3 or even Ni No Kuni II. The game contains a lot of quests and storylines that will appeal to the vast majority of gamers in one way or another, and the open world itself is very interesting, so even ordinary walks through it will not be a waste of time.

But is this what we should strive for? Is “accessibility” really that important if it doesn’t allow the game to reach its full potential? Maybe we shouldn't try to please everyone, but rather create a more cohesive adventure? And what should we do about the gaming industry, in which Skyrim is considered one of the most popular projects, despite the fact that none of its aspects is anything outstanding?

I'm happy with the 30 hours I spent on Skyrim, and it's quite possible that I'll return to the world of the game. But I will note that if I spend so much time on the game, then I want to get bright emotions in return. My experience with Skyrim can be perfectly summed up in one sentence: “Well, it wasn’t bad.”

Review of the best, in my opinion, mods for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

Quite a long time ago I had the intention of making a similar review/selection and now, after almost a week of testing and watching various thematic videos on TyTube, the time has come.

A small clarification before getting down to business - in this review you will not find mods with trains falling from the sky, the appearance of Santa Claus in Skyrim, guns and other non-lore-friendly content (although everything described above is on the nexus), there will be no cheating mods either . Also, I don’t see the point in including numerous mods with armor, bras and tights in the review; in this material you will find only two armor mods and only because I really liked them.

There will be no reference material here for those who do not know how to install ENB or how to install mods, it is possible that this kind of material will appear in the future, it all depends on the responses to this review.

First there will be musthave mods, towards the end - the best of the optional ones, without which you can play comfortably.

SkyUI

In first place is the most popular mod that everyone should have. This mod makes the “items” menu interface really convenient and you will never want to go back to the vanilla version after installing it. Almost two million downloads speak for themselves.

Categorized Favorites Menu

Another mega-useful mod that significantly improves the vanilla interface of the “favorites” window. As a rule, after just a few hours of play, your “favorites” are already filled with weapons, shouts, attacks, magic spells, and so on. It was completely impossible to navigate all this using a scanty screen sorted alphabetically. If you, like me, after clearing your instances and collecting loot, noted what cannot be sold by placing it in your “favorites”, then you will understand me even more.

« Categorized Favorites Menu» enlarges the “favorites” window and divides everything into categories, so you can always quickly select what you need without tedious scrolling. Even the potions are divided into categories.

Important - if you install the English version of this mod, then everything added to your favorites will be moved to the “other” category, because The mod identifies things and stuff by their name.

Detailed Mine Map Markers

“Oh, damn, damn mines!”, I’m sure you said this to yourself when you found not a malachite vein in a mine, but an iron one. Indeed, it is very difficult to remember which veins are in which mine. Therefore, for all crafters (you're not a crafter? oh, then forget about most armor mods!) this mod is a must.

He adds a note in parentheses to the names of the mines on the map, indicating what material can be extracted from them. Cheaters cry and quibble, because the mod does not open all the mines on the map, but only adds a note to those already found.

No bethesda Intro

For those who have forgotten who this great game is from, you can pass by. For the rest who are tired of the Arbor logo and “there-tatadam!” at the beginning - I recommend this mod, which disables the splash screen.

Also, if you find yourself restarting Skyrim frequently to test mods (and you will), then this is a must-have mod for you, it will save you a ton of time.

I sat down to play in the evening and got out late at night. Is this a familiar story? Well, yes, when is there a time to look at the clock when there are so many quests, and I still need to hunt wolves and clear out a nearby cave!!! And it would be nice to examine that ship on the shore!!!

With this mod you will be less likely to lose track of time, because now you will see a clock on every loading screen.

We left Instagram, looked at the time and went to bed!!! No, really, who are we kidding??? But now at least we’ll know what time we crawled to the bed and fell asleep -___-

Rich Merchants

Ever wondered why there are such poor merchants in the game? Only 750 gold cash!!! Sometimes, in order to sell all the loot obtained during a campaign, it was necessary to wander around cities and sell everything to different merchants, watching endless loading screens. At some point in the game I had so much unsold loot that I said “enough of this!!!” and went looking for a mod that would make my life easier.

And I found it. With installed (manually) "Rich Merchants" Merchants will have either 10,000 or 2,000 in cash (it all depends on which version of the mod you install). In my opinion, everything is realistic and fair, because Belethor cannot have money just to buy one enchanted staff >_<

Leather Backpack

A mod for everyone who is tired of the Horse Sign (for those in a tank - this sign increases the carried weight by 100) and walking at a snail's speed. The longer you play Skyrim, the more you suffer from lack of inventory space. The problem can be solved in several ways - take the above-mentioned Horse Sign and neigh, run back and forth between houses, putting loot in chests, or find cheats to increase space.

If none of the above suits you, then this mod is for you. It adds a craftable backpack to the game, and its capacity can be adjusted when installing the mod (maximum capacity 300). It does not spoil the view at all and can be removed at any time.

Bandolier - Bags and Pouches

Are you missing the backpack from the previous mod? Oh, it’s true, Skyrim is full of different loot that you just want to appropriate for further sale or crafting, how can you not pick up something? Yes, and why only a backpack, where is the craft of a purse, daragoy, uh?

If you're still short on space or don't like backpacks, give this a try. "Bandolier - Bags and Pouches". It adds crafting of different handbags and bandoliers to the game. You can wear bags in the front, back, on the sides, over the shoulder, or make a belt with handbags or caps. Just a great mod that doesn't ruin the atmosphere of the game.

There is also a Russian translation of this mod, but personally it was buggy for me - all the bags were invisible.

Skyrim Monster Mod

Every wolf is black, every cave is with draugs. And they all look the same. Boredom. Where are the mutations and abortion victims, I want more monsters!!!

Want to? Get it!!!

The mod adds a ton of new types of enemies to the game, all of them in the Russian version will have English names, but I’m telling you quite seriously - you will regret not installing this mod just for this reason.
The mod does not add aliens or gnomes with bazookas - all new mobs fit very well into the environment. The mod only replaces models, that is, in the place where you would meet a wolf, you will meet... a wolf, only with a different model. All loot from monsters corresponds to the loot of the vanilla version. Be sure to try this mod, I highly recommend it.

Update: unfortunately the mod was removed from Nexus, Workshop and even more so, so I’m adding download links: and

UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul

If you are used to traveling with a companion or husband/wife (I know, many people don’t like and play forever alone style), then you must install this mod. It adds new lines to the dialogue menu, thanks to which you can:

- completely change the companion's clothes,

- make him immortal

- force you to learn a spell from a book previously placed in your inventory

- make sure your partner doesn’t pay attention to your attacks on him

— see the characteristics of the companion

- increase its level and much more.

In addition, the mod adds horse management - you can put anything in your inventory, make the horse wait in the place where you left it, etc.

This mod has one competitor, but I can’t say anything about its performance, because I haven’t tested it - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15524

Battle fatigue and injuries

The first mod on the list that affects gameplay.

It always seemed strange to me that in battles the character does not receive any serious injuries, and everything is healed by magic, food or blows. If you broke your arm or sprained your leg, you heroically ate and all the bones healed.

Having installed "Battle fatigue and injuries" in battles, your character will receive various types of injuries - legs, arms, head and body. Each injury affects your stats - you can get so beat up that you lose speed, damage, or even carry weight. All effects are displayed in the buffs tab in the “magic” menu. Everything is treated through healthy sleep (usually 8 hours is enough to heal minor injuries). Yes, I know, sleep therapy was canceled back in... the Mesozoic, but this is already some kind of progress compared to the vanilla version. In addition, if you were seriously “dropped” and you broke something very badly, then you will have to seek treatment in the churches of Skyrim (which are available in almost every city).

Oh yes, I almost forgot - for this mod to work you need Skyrim Script Extender, You can download it. Drop the files into the game folder and launch Skyrim through the skse_loader.exe file, it will automatically connect to Steam, you can even shortcut it to your slave. add table.

Attention!!! When I was writing the material for the mod, I didn’t test it to the best of my ability. Critical flaws were discovered, so after six hours of gameplay with this mod I had to abandon it.

Realistic Needs and Diseases

The second, and my most favorite mod for changing the gameplay is "Realistic Needs and Diseases". I've always dreamed of this kind of mod for Skyrim since I started playing Fallout: NV on hardcore mode. Unfortunately, other mods did not fully suit me and I'm glad that someone finally made an easy and understandable mod.

In short, the mod adds to the game the need to eat, drink, sleep and the ability to gorge on ale in a tavern or outdoors with a saber-tooth kebab. To enable the mod, use the sugar ball in your inventory in the “food” tab. Each need has several states - overeating, undereating, mild malnutrition, hunger, thirst, mild thirst, dehydration, and so on. Overeating is a speed debuff. Didn’t eat/didn’t finish/didn’t get enough sleep—a debuff for the regeneration of everything. Spam, eat, drink - get a buff for regen of everything. If you get drunk on alcohol, the screen will blur and you will fall like a real drunk at a random time.

In addition, the longer you run or the more often you attack, you will get tired faster and get hungry/want to sleep/drink faster. Everything is just like in real life.

Therefore, you will have to look into taverns (now they are not useless, thank God!) and buy food, collect water from the river and boil it (this feature was added with the installation of this mod). Also, now it makes sense to cook hot food - if you drink water straight from the river or eat anything, you can get sick and get a non-acidic debuff.

Do you think that's all? You are wrong. The mod also allows you to craft sleeping bags and tents to relax on the road, a portable fireplace with a fire for cooking on the go (you will need a log to light it). So, do you want to try all this already?

One of the strengths of this mod is that everything is customizable. You can adjust how quickly the feeling of hunger or thirst will come, how much all the parameters will affect the character when moving quickly (I recommend setting it to 200-300%, otherwise after teleports you will be squeezed like a lemon, or even turn off the needs when moving quickly).

In general, this is one of the best mods for roleplaying. We went hunting, shot wolves and crabs in the river, got hungry, lit a fire, fried meat, ate from our stomachs, collected water from the river, boiled it and put extra supplies in our backpack. To go to bed we drank wine, fell a couple of times while intoxicated, then set up a tent and collapsed on the side. What are you waiting for - download and install!!!

Divorce

Do you want to get a divorce and don’t know how?

You may think that this day will never come, but it will come, I know it will. With this mod, divorce has become a reality. What you need to do and where to apply is shown in the screenshot.

The second useful mod for married people. Allows you to choose any house in Skyrim as your home and adds a new item to the dialogue with your wife about moving. We arrive at the desired house, use the spell, talk to my wife and voila, the other half is already packing her things. This is a must-have mod for those who prefer to live in houses added to the game by mods.

Helmet Toggle - Show Hide

We spent so much time selecting noses/eyebrows and lips in the character customization menu, but in the end all the beauty was hidden by the helmet!!!

I hasten to please you - the mod will help you "Helmet Toggle - Show Hide." He adds a spell, using which your helmet disappears... but not from your inventory, but only visually. For those who are especially curious, there is a spell that removes the helmet from the target. If you have always dreamed of looking at the hitherto hidden faces of the guards, then what are you waiting for? Download -__-

Update: Unfortunately, this mod is not compatible with most backpack mods.

Placeable Statics - Move Anything

From the moment I settled with a virtual wife (a beautiful nexus-modified elf) in Riften, I was tormented by the question - why can’t I take some chair from home and put it on an island in the middle of the lake, organizing a place there for secret nightly meetings with... well, you know with whom.

My dreams came true with this mod. In the menu, select a special shout, yell at the stool and put almost any (the furniture must not have an owner or you must own it) piece of furniture into the buffer and then place it with another shout where it is convenient for you. You can move the table from home to the street and make a cafe, arrange chairs and tables, even remove shelves. The mod works great with the Heartfire addon. Yeah baby, my dream of a bed in a field has come true!!!

Project Reality - Climates Of Tamriel - Weather - Lighting

The first mod in the review improves graphics.

This is the most popular weather-light (so to speak) mod on the Nexus. It improves many weather effects, lighting, fog, sunsets and more. Also optionally changes the lighting in instances and houses, optionally making the night brighter.

It’s useless to tell you how good everything is - it’s better to watch the videos on the mod’s page. A must-have for lovers of beautiful and realistic graphics.

Supreme Storms

What kind of snow is this? Yes, here in Siberia we have blizzards, so blizzards...

For those who think the weather conditions in Skyrim are not extreme enough, I recommend this mod.

WATER — Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux

If you thought the water in original vanilla Skyrim was amazing, then give this mod a try to improve it. I guarantee you will get a lot of positive emotions. And you don’t have to look for better water mods - this one is the best.

Reapers The Dark Tower

From graphics and gameplay, let's move on to houses for living.

One of the popular player homes mods "Reapers The Dark Tower" I recommend it to all those who play mages. This is a great home for an occultist, with unique gear and companions inside, as well as a torture room, several buff tools, gear, weapons, and finally, a chest that multiplies by 2 everything you can’t put in it. Oh, come on, this is not a cheat, this is a magic chest!!! Magic!!! In order to open the turret you need to complete a simple quest.

Riverside Lodge with Sauna

For me personally, when choosing a house in Skyrim, there are two criteria - convenience and realism. I don’t like houses that are too spacious and easy to get lost in. They serve more like museums, from which you leave with your mouth wide open. From a realism point of view, I don’t understand how a player can get a house the size of a fortress when he has a measly 15,000 gold in his pocket.

If you agree with me, then pay attention to this player home mod. The house is very cozy, you can choose options with an improved weapons room or with an expanded number of bookshelves. It has two bedrooms (for those who have quarreled with their wife or live with companions), everything for crafting, a kitchen and an office. Among other things, there are several chests in the house that automatically store what you choose - small soul stones, all herbs except three of each type, etc. It is very comfortable.

And what makes this mod close to Russian people is that next to the house there is... a bathhouse (aka sauna). Next to the bathhouse there is almost a Jacuzzi and a veranda with tables. Just don’t accidentally fall into the waterfall nearby, the view is stunning. In addition to the above advantages, it is worth noting that this house is very well located between Riverwood and Whiterun. Be sure to install and watch.

Temptress Race

The only mod with companions and race in the review. Adds to the game a new race, Temptress, and five new companions, which can be found in the temples of Skyrim (read the description). Each companion can be married.

What else to add here - look at the screenshot. These are the sexiest companions in all of Tamriel.

Better Females by Bella

“God, what a face!!!”

I am sure that most fans of female beauty have uttered this phrase more than once, peering into the wrinkled and crooked faces of the inhabitants of Skyrim.

This mod undertakes to improve the situation by improving all female faces in the game. A must-have for those who play sober.

ApachiiSkyHair

Same story as with faces in the vanilla game.

If you want a really great hairstyle for your character (there are both women's and men's haircuts), download and install this mod.

You do not want? Well, run with an unwashed head!

Cazy hairs and demoness hairs conversion by zzjay

The second mod is with hairstyles, there are fewer of them, but they are all very high quality. A not Lore-friendly hairstyle with a beret has also crept in (hello to artists and France).

The Eyes Of Beauty

A mod for those who have not found the eyes of their dreams in the options offered by the original game. Adds a decent amount of new colors and shades of eyes to the game with excellent depiction of the iris.

Crimson Tide - Blood

It seems to me that in the vanilla version of the game the blood was not… bloody enough. There was too little of it for the brutal atmosphere of the game.

Maud "Crimson Tide - Blood" will improve the blood in the game and add splashes to the screen ala Mortal Kombat. More good and different blood!

UNP Replacer Configuration Package

This is a must-have mod configurator (consists of several mods) for those who play as a female character and don't want to go through the hassle of installing multiple mods separately. Are you tired of playing as a clumsy, bow-legged... Khajiit?

I will give an explanation on my own behalf - in the world of body mods for female characters, there are two competing mods, these are UNP (and its variations) and CBBE (and its variations). Both of them make the figures of Skyrim women ideal, each in a slightly different way, but if you are determined to install armor mods for yourself in the future, then you need to decide on the choice of figure model... well, or endlessly rearrange mods to change models.

This mod will make it easy to choose which body type you like and install it without any problems. Unfortunately, you will have to pay a certain price for the ease of installation - the compilation contains outdated versions of mods and therefore some glitches are possible, such as textures overlapping each other in... the crotch. If you are not interested in such details, then install this compilation.

Immersive Armors

"Immersive Armors" this is a compilation of different types of armor and weapons, everything can be crafted in a forge, all things are lore-friendly and you won’t look like a black sheep in the world of Skyrim. I recommend it because of the ease of searching in the forge and the high quality of workmanship. Plus, you can meet NPCs and monsters wearing this armor, which is pretty cool.

TERA Armors Collection for Skyrim - UNP

And finally, the armor is a bit not quite lore-friendly, although I don’t find anything extreme in this mod that would destroy the atmosphere and lore of the vanilla version.

This is a compilation of armor sets from the MMORPG Tera Online. Everything can still be crafted in the forge in a separate section “Tera”, there are all options from leather to Daedric. The mod was included in the review because of the highest level of performance, beauty and originality of the vast majority of types of armor. And a necessary addition - all armor is only for female characters.

That's all, I sincerely hope this review was helpful. So far I have no plans to cover other mods, but if the reaction to this material is positive and it gets a lot of redirects, then...

Skyrim is a multi-platform PC game that was released in 2011. During this time, RPG fans were able to go through The Elder Scrolls series several times and enjoy the amazing open world, which was developed by specialists from Bethesda Game Studios. What should Action/RPG fans do who can’t wait for the release of a new game series, and who are tired of going through the previous five parts? For ardent “connoisseurs of beauty,” we have compiled a rating of the best Skyrim mods that will help transform the universe beyond recognition. Just choose the add-on you like and install it on your computer!

10 best Skyrim mods in history

10

Opens the top 10 mods for Skyrim with an add-on called Climates of Tamriel. Of course, one of the main assets of this action is the weather: storms, thunderstorms, fogs, rains and hurricanes that obscure the view. Imagine that you can now improve and diversify weather conditions with even greater atmosphere and beauty. After installing the extension to the game, you will be able to enjoy even more spectacular screams against the backdrop of sunsets and sunrises. The snowy province and mountains, complemented by the rays of the sun and covers of snow avalanches, deserve special attention. Please note that the mod seriously loads the system!

Talking about stinginess in the development of special effects is the same as blaming the developers for an irresponsible attitude to their work. However, Boris Vorontsov (a well-known creator of graphic mods for various games) was able to improve the already brilliant game. With the Skyrim Real Vision ENB mod, you can enjoy simulated global illumination, which significantly transforms the gameplay. Literally all parameters are improved: from depth of field to shadow quality. After the implementation of this add-on, even battles in caves become surprisingly rich and leave even more impressions. What can we say about the battle with dragons...

The rating of mods for Skyrim for all time is replenished with an addition that expands the universe of the fantastic Middle Ages, roughly speaking, with a survival simulator. In other words, expansions make the game more difficult. Even if you choose a powerful Nord, you will no longer be able to walk around in the cold. In addition, Frostfall brings into the game its own camp, where you can warm up, you can light fires yourself, stock up on food and fuel. The modification does not affect battles in any way. This product is more likely intended for connoisseurs of the rich world of Skyrim, rather than battles.

Are you already tired of returning to old locations in search of some new artifact? Have you pumped up your forge, magic and shooting to the maximum? In this case, it’s time to download the Helgen Reborn mod for Skyrim, and add a very large and exciting quest to the game. At first glance, it is impossible to distinguish the addition from the original Bethesda work. You will rebuild the almost destroyed Helgen, fight the Thalmor, and, as usual, collect resources to level up your hero. But the value of the product lies in the fact that all new elements and characters are unique: voice acting, stories, images.

When talking about the best Skyrim mods in history, we definitely need to point out Falskaar. This is one of the largest additions, which increases the completion process by an average of 30 hours. Includes:

  • 26 different quests;
  • 17 new types of weapons;
  • books;
  • new cry;
  • recipes for preparing spells;
  • scrolls.

After installing Falskaar you find yourself in Riften. Here you need to find a creature named Jalamar. Next, a fascinating story begins - try not to deviate from the plot of the modification. Otherwise, difficulties may arise. We also recommend completing side quests, not just the main ones!

We're talking about a unique mod for Skyrim that adds the jungle of Elsweyr to the world. Depending on the player’s race, the add-on can take us to a new location, where we see a lot of unusual monsters, missions and locations. Elves and orcs have their own companions who will accompany you during difficult quests. There are new items that can be found in Valenwood. Without additional weapons, you cannot pass some monsters that look like large animals. The quest in Falkreath deserves special attention. However, you should explore the Skyrim jungle on your own.

Many fans of the game will probably agree that fighting dragons when you have at least 10 shouts open is no longer so difficult. Everything changes with the installation of the Skyrim Deadly dragons mod. At the same time, not only does the process of destroying winged creatures become more complicated, but also new powerful creatures appear, which not every gamer can cope with. To complete the task you will have to enlist the help of good allies, you will have to find a special weapon and upgrade your destruction magic. The most interesting thing is that you need to combine techniques and strikes. Arrows or magic alone will not be able to defeat the ancient dragons.

Speaking about the best Skyrim mods in history, I would like to mention the old Weapons of the Third Era add-on. With its appearance, Skyrim players now have fifty more different types of weapons at their disposal. It's funny that this expansion for the game combines perfectly with the above modification. After installing Weapons of the Third Era in the root folder of the game, you will be able to access unique caves where skeletons store weapons against dragons and some necromancers. Unfortunately, there are no new masks or unique magical artifacts. But you can forget about creating weapons from dragon scales.
