2. Meat fillet should be cut into small pieces, sprinkled with spices and salt. Meat fillet can be used of any type - pork, beef.

3. In a preheated frying pan, fry the meat in a small amount of vegetable oil over medium heat until golden brown. Next, add chopped onion and fry the mixture until it is slightly transparent.

4. Then add carrots. First you need to grate it on a coarse grater or cut it into small cubes. The dish is fried for another 5-6 minutes.

5. At the next stage, combine pearl barley with fried meat and vegetables, fill the pots with the mixture (a little more than half).

6. Fill the pots with water or broth, leaving 1-2 cm to the top so that the liquid does not overflow when it boils.

7. Add salt and spices (ground black and red pepper, basil, dill).

8. After thoroughly mixing the contents and placing a bay leaf on top, cover with lids.

9. The prepared pots are placed in an oven preheated to 190 degrees. After 30-35 minutes, when the liquid boils, reduce the temperature to 170 degrees.

Adyghe cheese fries quite quickly, so you should not leave the process unattended.

Pearl barley porridge is the basis of Russian cuisine, but today you won’t surprise anyone with simply cooked porridge, so we’ll prepare not just pearl barley porridge, but with meat in pots in the oven. In pots, dishes turn out much tastier, because the food is not boiled in it, but simmered.

To prepare barley with meat in a pot in the oven, take the products from the list.

We wash the pearl barley, add water and leave for at least 3–4 hours, and best of all, overnight. Before cooking, drain the water in which the cereal was soaked and rinse again.

Cut the meat (I used pork) into small pieces, sprinkle with salt and seasonings (basil, a mixture of peppers). Set aside for a while.

Cut onions and carrots into cubes.

Place the meat in a saucepan with heated oil and fry until lightly browned. Add onion, stir and fry for 2-3 minutes.

Then add carrots, mix and fry for 3-4 minutes.

Pour pearl barley into a saucepan and stir.

Now fill the pots with the resulting mixture. Fill with broth so that 2 cm remains to the top of the pot. If you use water instead of broth, do not forget to add salt. Mix the contents with a spoon.

Place a bay leaf on top of each pot and cover with a lid. Place the pots on a baking sheet and put them in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. After 30–40 minutes, when the liquid boils, reduce the temperature in the oven to 180 degrees and cook until the pearl barley is ready, an hour to an hour and a half. After about 40 minutes, look into the pots - you may need to add broth or water.

After time has passed, turn off the oven and leave the pots in it for 20 minutes.

Cooking steps

Boil the cereal until half cooked. Peel the mushrooms, cut into slices and fry with chopped onions and freshly grated carrots in heated vegetable oil. Place two mixtures in layers in the pots alternately. Don't forget to sprinkle lightly with salt and coat with sour cream. After this, fill the pots with hot water so that all their contents are covered with liquid. During the stewing process, all excess moisture will go into the pearl barley. Place in the oven for 35-40 minutes. If it is not soft enough, increase the cooking time slightly.

Hearty pearl barley porridge: recipe with meat

This dish turns out to be very nutritious. You can use absolutely any meat - from tender chicken to spicy lamb. It is advisable to take into account the quality characteristics of the product when preparing. If the pieces are somewhat harsh, simmer them first, before putting them in pots, in a covered frying pan until half cooked.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g chopped pieces of any meat;
  • 2 incomplete glasses of pearl barley;
  • 2 tbsp. l. without a slide of fat for pre-frying meat;
  • 1 medium-sized onion;
  • spices (pepper, oregano, ;
  • salt.

Cooking steps

Fry the meat until crispy, then place in pots. Sprinkle onion half rings on top. Salt and season with spices. Add the cereal (pre-soaked overnight). Fill all products with water so that it covers the last layer by 2 cm. Simmer in the oven over medium heat for at least 70-75 minutes. This pearl barley porridge is served hot. you can change it a little. Pearl barley porridge in a pot can also be prepared slightly differently. The recipe described below calls for the use of several grains in the dish. Since it takes much longer to cook pearl barley compared to other products, you must first boil it until half cooked.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon pearl barley;
  • 1 half glass of beans;
  • 0.5 tablespoon rice;
  • 0.5 tablespoon of buckwheat;
  • 2 large onions;
  • 2 medium carrots;
  • 1 tbsp. l. with tomato paste top;
  • 2 tbsp. l. unsalted butter;
  • salt;
  • aromatic seasonings to taste.

Cooking steps

Soak the beans and pearl barley separately overnight. After swelling (after 10-12 hours), rinse the products with water several times. Then boil them until half cooked, drain them in a colander. Fry the chopped carrots (on a grater) and onions (in half rings). After light browning, add tomato paste to the vegetable mixture. Rinse the rice and buckwheat. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients (cereals, beans and vegetable dressing), add salt. Place in pots and fill with water, filling to a level of 1-1.5 cm above the surface of the food. But it is best to boil pre-soaked cereal until half cooked.

Ingredients:

  • 1 full glass of pearl barley;
  • 0.5 tablespoon of dried fruits (apples, dried apricots, prunes, dried pitted cherries, etc.);
  • 1 tbsp. l. candied orange peel;
  • 2 tbsp. l. with a top of unsalted butter;
  • 1 large apple;
  • 1 medium sized orange;
  • 3 full tbsp. l. granulated sugar;
  • a pinch of table salt.

Cooking steps

Boil the cereal until you obtain a crumbly semi-finished mass. Pour boiling water over dried fruits and then rinse in cold water. Mix pearl barley porridge with sugar, candied fruits and dried fruit. Place in pots, cover with water and place in the oven at medium temperature. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Just before it’s ready, season the porridge with sugar, butter and slices of orange and apple. After carefully stirring the contents of each pot, bake for another 5-7 minutes.
