What's better to ride downhill? Winter children's transport: sleds, ice skates, snow scooters, snow scooters.

Everyone knows the great benefits fresh air has on the human body. Therefore, than bigger baby be outside, and the more active he is at this time, the more benefits this pastime will bring. And a frosty and snowy winter is absolutely not a contraindication for long active walks. It seems that in the warm season it is much easier to provide active recreation for a child of any age. After all, for the summer you can buy wheelchairs, floor swings, play complexes, and tricycles for kids. For older children, electric cars, scooters, roller skates, two-wheeled bicycles and balance bikes will be useful. What about in winter? Remembering their own childhood, many will immediately remember sleds. But, as you know, progress does not stand still, and today children ride down the slides in winter not only on them. Let's take a closer look at what the kids are riding downhill in the winter now.

What do you ride downhill in winter?

When winter is generous with snow and frost, this provides an excellent opportunity for parents to provide an interesting, and most importantly useful walk for their children. In winter, you can go to the skating rink, or go downhill, and depending on what you choose, it will be clear what you need to purchase:

Frosty air has a very beneficial effect on human health, both small and adult. Winter walk on fresh air will strengthen the immune system, provide healthy sleep, will improve your appetite and give you an unforgettable weekend with your family. The main thing is for joint family holiday the winter was fun and safe, it’s worth checking out what’s best for downhill skiing and how else you can spend time in the frosty winter.

Winter has come. The cities are covered with snow, it’s really frosty outside, I don’t want to show my nose again... That’s what a European, an American, an African, or anyone would think, but Russians are not afraid of any frost! On the contrary, I want to go for a walk, throw snowballs, skate and sled. Good and New Year holidays on the nose, all that remains is to choose a place where to go with the whole honest company. Only... and where? In the summer, this question does not even arise; there are many amusement parks and attractions in Moscow - choose any one. But with the onset of cold weather, many attractions fall into " hibernation" And yet the parks are not closing, but, one might say, are being re-qualified as a real kingdom of snow and ice. Moreover, new specialized areas are appearing where you can go ice skating, snow tubing, snowskating, snowskating, snowmobiling, etc. We will not talk about skating rinks here; our special section is dedicated to this. But about the rest in order.

Snowtubing is a fascinating and unforgettable descent down slightly steep hills. It is practiced on special inflatable attractions made of nylon fabric - cheesecakes. They have built-in handles to help you hold on, and there are several inflatable elements inside. Our ancestors used similar devices; only the design changed.

Which slide would be ideal? The bottom of the cheesecake is very slippery, so it can easily reach speeds of up to 90 km/h. Taking this into account, a slope is selected so that it does not exceed a steepness of 20 degrees. The moving vehicle is controlled only by tilting the body, so it is very difficult to control the descent process. Remember that the tube does not have brakes, which means that at the end of the slide there needs to be plenty of room to brake safely. The skiing area itself should be clearly visible and have no obstacles on the route such as trees, cobblestones, sharp or protruding objects.

To create safe and comfortable skiing, the slope is usually equipped with a special tubing track. It is created in the form of a trough with small springboards, which gives the sensations a greater thrill. But on tracks for small children there should be no jumps, as this can injure the kids. Any trails are equipped with special lifts.

You don't need any skills or training to ride the slides. But we must not forget about basic caution. Here are some tips:

Young children should ride under the supervision of their parents on small, gentle snow slides and it is better to choose uncrowded places.

Such rides are convenient because they are lightweight, but this can lead to overturning during the descent - be careful, it is advisable to wear protection (knee pads, elbow pads).

Cardboard, a piece of plywood, linoleum, or even, if you're very lucky, an old one car tire. Just a few years ago, in order to have fun on the slide, you had to use a lot of imagination and resourcefulness - in the literal sense of the word. What you find is what you ride on. Now stores offer a dozen different “gadgets.” Just choose.

Sled

In any children's store you will find a million varieties of sleds: wooden, plastic, metal, with or without a back, and even stroller sleds for kids. Prices, accordingly, also vary greatly - from 500 to 5000 rubles.

When choosing a sled, keep in mind that wooden and aluminum, although lightweight, are not very strong; they quickly break and bend. Plastic ones are more expensive, but they are more reliable.

Ice

The most primitive rolling device, an alternative to a piece of linoleum from our Soviet childhood. However, parents like them low price(from 100 rubles), and for children - ease of use: no need to pull a heavy sled uphill. I slid down the slide, picked up the almost weightless piece of ice in my hand, ran up - and I was ready to roll again. There is only one problem - while you are driving, you must try not to knock off both the soft and the hard.

"Plate"

An upgrade to the ice pack, but with its own disadvantages. It seems that the design better protects against impacts and unsuccessful landings. And the price is not too high - from 300 rubles. However, you must be able to control the “plate”, otherwise it instantly turns 180 degrees, and the child rushes down the mountain backwards, not seeing the road, of course. Where he crashes - into a soft dad or a hard tree - depends on his personal luck and the agility of the parent.

"Bean"

The next step in the evolution of icicles. This plastic trough with primitive brakes and a strap in front is easier to control than a saucer, and it develops much higher speed. Sometimes it is equipped with a steering wheel, which, however, does not affect anything except the price - from 1,500 to 3,000 rubles. Just like on an ice rink, when you encounter a springboard, everything gets knocked back, but you’re not afraid of falling, not like falling off a snow scooter.

"Vatrushka"/"Tube"

The favorite of last year's slides is not losing ground this year. Inside the cheesecake there is a chamber inflated with air; on top it is covered with a cover made of some kind of polymer, akin to the very piece of linoleum that we rode on as children. Thanks to this, the cheesecake develops at breakneck speed and is absolutely safe, landing after unexpected meeting with the springboard it will be painless. When choosing a cheesecake, pay attention to its carrying capacity, in case dad also wants to remember his youth and show how to ride down the hill. The greater the load capacity, the more expensive the cheesecake - from 1000 to 3000 rubles, but it is entertainment for the whole family.

Snow scooter

A real steering wheel, which means simplicity and ease of operation, distinguishes a snow scooter from all other types of sleds. The price, accordingly, is quite high: from 3,000 to 8,000 rubles. The more expensive the model, the more bells and whistles there are: from an automatically retracting towing cable to a vibration damper that reduces vibration (such things are found in cars, drilling rigs and other complex mechanisms).

Every winter, ice and snow slides appear in Moscow where you can go sledding and tubing. 2019 was no exception to the rule, when every year there are only more places for sledding and cheesecake riding. Nevertheless, traditional places for riding remained the same.

Where to go tubing in Moscow

Ice and snow slides in Moscow can be divided into three types:

  • Slides where there are no restrictions and you can ride anything: on a sled, on an ice rink, or just on your feet or on your butt - all this is completely free.
  • Slides where you can only use tubing. If you have your own cheesecake and don’t need to rent it, which is located right on the hill, skating becomes completely free.
  • Slides where there is no free ride in principle and, as a rule, the use of your own equipment is not allowed.

On paid slides, payment is hourly or for each descent. The prices may not always please you, but if the slide is equipped with a lift, the ride becomes very comfortable.

How to choose tubing for skating

Most significant characteristic tubing is its outer diameter in the state when the cheesecake is already filled with air.

Dependence of the cheesecake diameter on the height of the skater:

  • Child height up to 110 cm - tubing diameter 65 - 85 cm
  • Height up to 140 cm – tube diameter 90 – 95 cm
  • Height up to 175 cm, tubing 100 - 110 cm is suitable
  • For people taller than 175 cm, you can use tubing with a diameter of 120 - 125 cm

Of course, these recommendations are quite conditional. If you are planning to ride together with a child, it is better to choose a slightly larger tube, with a diameter of at least 120 cm. The main thing is that you can hold it comfortably without flying out of the tube while skating. For this reason, you should not buy a very large tube. small child for growth. For overweight people, it is better to choose a cheesecake with a larger diameter.

P.S. Prices and terms of service for slides are provided as a guide only and are subject to change. The list of places for skiing down the mountains in Moscow and the near Moscow region on cheesecakes and sleds is not complete.
