Skyrim's most powerful weapons and armor. The best weapons and armor in Skyrim Special Edition

There wasn’t much to do during the holidays; I played Skyrim.

While surfing the expanses of the game world, it was impossible not to philosophize about “what is the power, brother.” Which sent me on a quest to find the ultimate weapon. A weapon that makes battles fleeting and the philosopher's travels serene and safe. :)

Path of the Magician

I completed my first run on Skyrim as a mage. The spells of the school of destruction were my main weapon, and the main motto was “your weapon is your mind,” which is constantly voiced by one of the NPCs in the school of magic.

For those who want to follow the path of a magician, I can only advise creating a set of items that reduce the mana consumption of spells from the school of destruction. It is possible to enchant 4 items (ring, amulet, helmet and cuirass or robe, etc.). With a developed enchanting skill, without additional tricks, each of the enchanted items (at fortify destruction) reduces the cost of spells by 25%, which in total will be 100%. As a result, you can shoot fireballs and throw lightning bolts completely free of charge. Isn't this the perfect weapon for a magician?

Way of the Warrior

The warrior's path is more thorny, which makes it more interesting. For myself, I chose the classics - heavy armor and a combination - shield + sword. Other combinations will find their followers, and I will share my own experience.

The damage of a weapon is determined by its base, your wielding skill, and enchantment. Further details.

Weapon base

In the game you find different versions of the same swords (hammers, axes, etc.) differing in the material from which they are made. It is clear that the more expensive the material, the better the weapon. The best light material for making weapons is Glass, and the best heavy material is Daedric. To make it, you need the appropriate ingredients, the blacksmithing skill itself (for Glass - 70, for Daedric - 90) and the blacksmithing specialty for forging the required material. It’s clear that the type of weapon you need can be found on your travels and you won’t have to worry about finding the ingredients.

Skill

Each intended use of your weapon improves your skill in using it. The skill doesn't grow very quickly. You will notice when looking at your inventory that as your skill increases, the damage of the corresponding weapon class will increase. The effectiveness of wielding a weapon can be doubled with the help of appropriate perks. For one-handed it is the Armsmen perk, for two-handed it is Barbarian and for a bow it is Overdraw.

Sharpening

I have never found an already sharpened weapon in the game. And with even a minimum level of blacksmithing skill, you can sharpen and improve any weapon and armor (to sharpen enchanted equipment you will need to take the appropriate perk). In addition, the blacksmith specialty for forging a certain material will double the sharpening effect of weapons and armor made from that material.

Those. To create the ultimate weapon, we will need advanced blacksmithing and weapon skills + a number of perks. Go ahead.

Blacksmith is different from blacksmith

Once you have forged or obtained a weapon, you can sharpen it. The same applies to armor. And the higher the effect, the better the blacksmith’s skill.

You will probably find that it is possible to enchant a set of items to improve your blacksmithing skill. This is again a set of 4 items (ring, amulet, gloves/bracers and armor, etc.). Without additional tricks, with a developed enchanting skill, we will receive a total of 100% increase in the blacksmith’s abilities (It is an increase and not a doubling, since all the effects here add up to a common piggy bank, giving an increase to the base value). And if you resort to certain tricks (using alchemy when enchanting), then you can increase the total amount to 120%.

Alchemy will also be useful - the developed skill of an alchemist allows you to create truly powerful potions. And the alchemist will be helped by an enchanter who will create a set of “young alchemist”, again of 4 items (ring, amulet, helmet, etc. and gloves, etc.), giving from 100 to 120% an increase in the alchemist’s skill.

Having donned the “young blacksmith’s” kit, stocked up on the necessary ingredients and consumed the flask with the “elixir of the blacksmith,” we have 30 seconds to sharpen our weapons and improve our armor. This is how long the created elixir lasts.

Those. we will need developed skills in enchantment and alchemy.

Let's summarize

The path of the magician, as you can see, is much simpler. You just need to develop enchantment (create a set of “freeloader magician” :)) and delve into the study of the school of destruction magic.

A warrior does not look for simple paths; we will need alchemy, enchantment, blacksmithing and the weapon skill itself. Every time you create a set of items (for an alchemist and a blacksmith), you should not hesitate to drink the “enchanter’s elixir”. The effect is not great, but everything is a plus. And before the final chord - sharpening - drink the blacksmith's elixir (you can achieve an effect of more than 120% with just one elixir).

The last step is to enchant your "everyday" set of items to improve your mastery of your main weapon. With a developed skill, the enchanter will improve 4 items (ring, amulet, boots and gloves) by at least 40% each. And on the weapon itself you can apply magic damage effects (I prefer cold and shock damage), but this is already a bonus, hardly comparable to the main damage.

As a result, I (and I must admit I was a little lazy - I sometimes disdained alchemy, and I’m still not 100% proficient with one-handed weapons) got this Daedric sword.

I believe the limit would be around 500 units. physical damage and about 60 units of total magic damage. For two-handed weapons, physical damage can be received even more, because the base value is higher there.

Not enough books? Read it!

Comments on “The Ultimate Weapon in Skyrim (TES 5 Skyrim)”

Many comments in “The Ultimate Weapon in Skyrim (TES 5 Skyrim)”

As a result, I made myself an improved Dwemer crossbow that ignores 50% of the armor - the damage with 100 mastery skill and with 4 things that I enchanted myself turned out to be around 650. And this is not the limit because I still haven’t finished the lightweight dragon bone armor, which is sharpened for bows and stealth. I'm going through Solstheim Island because there is Azidal armor that gives a 10% bonus to enchantment (the only item that gives a bonus to enchantment) with which it will be possible to make a set of a young alchemist and then a blacksmith even stronger and, accordingly, sharpen the bow even more strongly and apply stronger enchantments to increase damage from small arms. The crossbow now hits the area 648 and the dragon bow 638 something like that, plus there’s also damage from magic, but I don’t count it - I rarely load the crossbow with soul stones - I’m too lazy to go into my inventory. And don’t think that I’m beating everyone down with this crossbow. I set the difficulty level to legendary and all the creatures and NPCs began to bend over me and I kill them once with 5 shots, and I have to shoot 20 arrows at dragons and lurkers before they die, and at the same time they extinguish me the first time, just like ordinary magic NPCs - two lightning strikes and you are ashes. So the game balances your weapon anyway. The only thing that really helps is the triple damage from sneak attacks - I crawl through caves and ruins on my haunches and extinguish everyone from afar - with a sneak attack they die the first or second time. So this is not the limit. I made this crossbow without any bugs. If you use a bug with a restoration potion that gives an exponential infinite increase in all enchantments on clothing, even if it is drunk while naked, then I made a bow with damage “-200...” - that is, the damage there was with a minus sign and did not fit into the window. And I made potions that cost 200,000 and with the effect of increasing enchantment 123,000,000 - if you make the potion stronger - that is, the figure goes beyond a billion, then the game crashes - because such a figure cannot be stored in this variable. And it’s not interesting to play - you knock out everyone with one hit - the only cool thing is probably to make gloves and a ring with increased melee damage and extinguish everyone with your fists))

  1. I didn’t want to play as a mage, and I was too lazy to improve the perks for war - I only upgraded heavy armor and one-/two-handed sticks, a solution was found suddenly.
In Solstheim, Krestius Karelia has a quest. Enter the mine near the town at Raven Rock and listen to him. He will need to get information about his father from the depths of the mines, which the Eastern Imperial Company is hiding from him. After passing it, you will come across ghost draugrs and other strong undead. Get to your father's corpse. Take the diary from him, and most importantly, the Bloodstar sword. Use the sword to open the gate. Return to Krestius and receive 500 gold for the diary. He will not take the sword from you.
This sword deals only 19 basic damage, but with a power attack it releases a mid-range attack with 30 damage. And it has UNLIMITED such discharges, plus it (although this is not indicated in the properties) has a very high chance of a finishing blow (when there is a death roller enemy) - can overwhelm a lurker with one power attack if he has 40% HP.. This sword lasted me until about level 25. I recommend it to beginners, with level 10-15 character leveling.

I won’t go into all the details, but I’m afraid that the article was written by a noob.
For example, enchanting a weapon for cold and electrical damage to get a small bonus...
    AUTHOR, WHAT ARE YOU WHAT?!
The most delicious thing for a warrior is the ABSORPTION of the reserve of strength and vital energy!
On the one hand, strong blows now fly like hail, on the other hand, health hardly flies away at all!
Here he is, a real warrior!
Otherwise, “cold/electricity”... At the beginning of the game, maybe it would have made the difference.

  2. The Elder Scrolls 5.Skyrim.v 1.9.32.0.8 + 4 DLC without other mods can be improved even more than described here. effectiveness of blacksmithing equipment + potion (137% increases the effect of blacksmithing). To do this, you need to develop the skills of alchemy + blacksmithing + enchanting. Each skill has an individual approach. Simply put, you need to increase the effectiveness of the three components (alchemy potion + enchantment skill + blacksmithing + Hermaeus Mora's book on Solstheim (gives a bonus to enchantment) + a set of armor, putting on a full set of them gives another 10% to enchantment) after collecting all this, you will have to sweat, re-enchanting a set of armor to create the most effective potion, after you create the potion, re-enchant the armor for alchemy, blacksmithing until you achieve the maximum effect. Azidal's armor set, which gives a bonus, can be obtained through a quest on Solstime.

Weapons undoubtedly play a major role in Skyrim, and therefore from the very beginning of the game you should decide on the type of weapon; if you don’t know, then it can be:

  • One-handed (swords, short, daggers, axes)
  • Two-handed (axes, halberds, spears)
  • Small arms (crossbows, bows)

In the article WHERE to find the best weapons in Skyrim, we will consider in detail all the possible options for obtaining attacking types of weapons (small weapons are excluded, since on our website in the Bows and Crossbows section, you will find the same article about small arms).

Let's immediately clarify that this post is of a purely informative nature, that is, all your statements that are negative in nature will be ignored, since everyone has their own ideals.

We consider only original (vanilla) weapons, all unofficial mods and additions are not taken into account!

Where to find the best weapons in Skyrim - by stages

Beginning of the game

For those who want to “bend” enemies from the very beginning of their story, you should think about going through the storyline for the thieves guild, since at the end of all the main quests, you will be equipped Nightingale blade, Nightingale's bow, and Nightingale's armor, and not a small amount of money. And if you use this entire set, you immediately understand that it is simply ideal, as it has impressive charms.

The next exhibit will be sword "Phantom Blade", which can be obtained by killing Ansilvund. Its feature is its complete ignoring of the enemy’s armor, that is, it does not matter how he is equipped, in heavy or light armor.

Also worth mentioning is the Okin ax and the Eduzh sword. With their help, you can easily defeat quite strong enemies.

Mid leveling

Now let's move on to more experienced players. Many people will like it Wuuthrad ax which can be obtained after completing a chain of quests for the Companions, since it is literally “killer”.

After completing quests for one of the Daedra Princes, you will receive Merenus' Razor. It has the shape of a dagger, and has a 5% chance of instantly killing an enemy. Especially if you take it in your right hand and use it as an auxiliary one, then attacking, for example, with a regular sword, without enchantment, you also have a chance to kill the enemy in one blow.

Peak pumping

After completing many quests, you will need a really good weapon. For example, a staff Rose Sanguina will be very useful for those players who have not leveled up the magic tree, as it can summon Daedra who will fight on your side.

For those who like to hunt dragons, a weapon is well suited Dragon Scourge, since it has an additional bonus of 25 damage to them.

Another proven method is forging weapons. Has the most relatively good base damage Daedric and Dragon weapons. But to create them you need to have good Blacksmithing (from 90 to 100).

Where to Get the Best Basic Weapons

Top 10 most powerful weapons (hard-core review)

The most powerful weapon

In the end, it must be said that for each you need to select the best weapon separately, and therefore, in order to say which weapon is really the best, let's say the following.

The best weapon in Skyrim is the weapon that has saved you more than once, or just choose a Daedric, upgrade it, enchant it and bend this entire multifaceted world! Thank you for your attention, good mood everyone!

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has a truly huge number of weapons and most often the player is lost in the choice.

The best axes, greatswords and warhammers in Skyrim

There are fewer two-handed weapons in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, so it makes sense to combine different classes of such weapons into one section. Here are the best axes, two-handed swords and swords in the game: Wuuthrad Axe, Rueful Axe, Bloodskal, Volendrung and Dawnguard Rune Hammer.

How to get the Ax weapon of Wuuthrad

This thing is perfect for those who dream of settling scores with elves. Wuuthrad deals more damage specifically to the “eared” races, and the base indicator is also quite high - 25. This is a damn powerful ax!

The path to the Wuuthrad Ax lies through the Companions storyline. It will have to be completed completely, since only after the results of the last task, “Glory of the Dead”, Dovahkiin gets the opportunity to grab Wuuthrad with both hands.

How to get the Ax of Sorrow weapon

A Daedric prince named Clavicus Vile describes this weapon as "powerful enough to have a lot of fun." And this is pretty close to the truth - the Ax of Sorrow in its base version deals 22 damage and also burns the stamina of enemies. In addition, it can be improved at the forge if you have the appropriate skill.

The Ax of Sorrow can be obtained as a reward for completing the Daedric quest “A Daedra’s Best Friend”. But before you move on to it, you should reach at least level 10. After Dovahkiin becomes strong enough, you need to find a character named Lod near the entrance to Falkreath. There will be many more funny and not so adventures.

How to get the Bloodskal weapon

Appeared in the game after the release of the Dragonborn add-on. This is a hefty two-handed sword that causes a magical explosion when hit hard. Even without taking into account the impressive physical damage, Blaskal is valued for the fact that the burst of energy deals 30 damage!

To become the owner of Blaskal, you need to start the storyline of the Dragonborn expansion, and then, having arrived on Solstheim, go to the Raven Rock Mine and take the side quest “The Final Descent” from a character named Krestius Carellius (Crescius Caerellius). The blade will lie near the remains of Gratian in a deep dungeon.

How to get Volendrung weapon

A war hammer of impressive size can seriously frighten an impressionable hero with its demonic relief. But his damage is much worse - 47! When struck, Volendrung not only easily breaks the strongest bones, but also increases stamina, which is very convenient for Dovahkiin, because to make a good swing with such a hammer, one’s own strength will clearly not be enough.

Obtaining Volendrung is associated with the quest “The Cursed Tribe”, which begins in the orc fortress Largashbur. Arriving there, the hero must help the local orcs cope with a bunch of problems and at the same time show himself in a favorable light in front of the Daedric prince Malacat.

How to get the Dawnguard Rune Hammer weapon

Not the best in its class (base damage is 22), but definitely very useful in some situations. It's all about the enchantment: it allows you to place fire traps on different surfaces. Thus, you can very easily deal with many opponents who prefer to fight up close.

As with other Dawnguard rune weapons, you must complete the dynamic quest “The Lost Relic.” The task is quite troublesome, although it is randomly generated: you need to clear dungeons filled to capacity with all sorts of evil spirits and undead.

If you're lucky, the Rune Hammer of the Dawnguard will become Dovahkiin's reward. For sure. More likely. Maybe. May be. Some day. Sooner or later... Well, if you buy Dawnguard, of course.

The best unique bows in Skyrim

A bow will be useful for almost every hero, but it is especially often used by those who, for certain reasons, do not want to “get their hands dirty” by waving all sorts of sharp things, like some savage or barbarian. There are plenty of bows in the game, but only 3 of them will serve Dovahkiin best: The Nightingale Bow, Glass Bow of the Stag Prince and Gauldur Blackbow.

How to get the Nightingale Bow weapon

This weapon belongs to Karliah, a member of the thieves' guild and the protagonist's temporary companion during some quests. The Nightingale Bow enchant allows you to freeze and shock targets, which is often useful in various situations. This is also another weapon that depends on the character's level. You shouldn't take it too early, it's better to wait. For example, up to level 46. It is then that the Nightingale Bow will become as powerful as possible.

To convince Karliah to give up the bow, you will have to join the Thieves Guild and follow its storyline. This is a rather long path that will only end at the Blindsighted mission. The bow will be given to the character as a reward for completing the quest. By the way, Dovahkiin will also receive an “endless” master key (Skeleton Key), but who is interested in such trifles?

How to get the glass bow of the Deer King

The name is far from the most remarkable thing about this weapon. It blesses the owner with a special effect - increases health and stamina while the bow is equipped. To receive the blessing, you need to kill 20 animals. Not so much, but not so little!

You can get the Glass Bow of the Stag King from Falas Selvayn at the old Ramshacle Trading Post. Oh yes, that's right, this location is on the island of Solstheim, so you'll have to set sail after purchasing the DLC Dragonborn

How to get the Black Bow of Gauldur weapon

Like the Nightingale Bow, this piece of ancient Nordic craftsmanship is a weapon whose power directly depends on the hero's level. It is exhibited at the moment when Dovahkiin first enters the location where, in fact, the bow is located.

Gauldur's black bow deals 36 damage when hitting a target and absorbs magic at the same time. It is convenient if the main character knows a couple of powerful spells.

As with the Black Sword of Gauldur, the bow can be obtained during the quest "Forbidden Legend". In order for this quest to appear in the journal, you must read the book "Lost Legends of Skyrim". You can find it in a variety of places, you just need to be careful. Or just search the lifeless body of the “adventurer” in the “Lake Cliff” location.

But the bow has its own dungeon - Geirmund’s Hall. An ancient and not quite alive (and not dead!) Sigdis Gauldurson lives there. The bow is in his hands, you just need to ask nicely.

Let's go, friend! In honor of the release of Skyrim Special Edition, an updated version with HD textures, we are releasing a series of articles on this topic. The first will be an article about choosing and finding the best weapons and armor. And, since I prefer speed and lightness, we will start with one-handed weapons, shields and light armor.

So that you don’t have any unnecessary questions, Skyrim Special Edition includes all the additions to the original game, so all the items described below will be available to you.

The best one-handed weapon in Skyrim

Undoubtedly, the most powerful weapon with base damage is the dragon weapon, but it is also significantly heavier (except for daggers, where a dragon bone dagger is only 0.5 kg heavier). Conceding one unit of base damage, a Stalhrim mace or ax will be much lighter and overall better, with the exception of swords, where the vaunted Daedric blade has greater base damage and almost the same weight.

All of these weapons can be enchanted, but you can't enchant unique artifacts (in most cases), so some of the weapons below may only be good if you don't have that specialization.

Mace of Molag Bal
16 18
“Steals 25 units of magic and 25 strength per hit. Soul Capture."
The weapon is forged from ebony, it is 1 kg lighter than nameless samples, and has the base damage of a dragon. You can get a task with it in an abandoned house in Mokarte.
Miraak's Sword
16 3
"Steals 15 strength per hit"
An incredibly light sword, only 3 kg and damage to the most powerful dragon weapons. Unfortunately, you can only get it at the end of the game, during the main storyline (taking into account the presence of the Dragonborn add-on).
Mehrunes' razor
11 3
"Instant death occurs with a 1.5% chance."
3.5 kg lighter than the dragon dagger, but 2 less base damage. Despite this, due to its effect, it makes the dagger a good option for the left hand. You can start the quest by visiting the museum in Dawnstar.

The best light armor in Skyrim

The two most powerful light armor available from crafting sets in the game are Stalhrim (with the Dragonborn add-on) and Dragonscale. The difference between them is small, and if one element of armor is better, then the other is worse.

Stalhrim boots, bracers have the same base armor parameter as dragon armor.

Not everything is clear with the breastplate and helmet.

The breastplate is 3 kg lighter, but has 2 less armor. It makes sense to wear Elven gilded armor, the armor class is lower by 6, but its weight is 6 less.

The shield is undoubtedly made of dragon scales - the weight is 4 lighter, losing only 1 in armor.

The helmet is 2 kg lighter, but has 1 less armor. But in terms of armor, any other light helmet pales in comparison to the Masks of Dragon Priests. Krosis, Volsung or Miraak (Dragonborn) will suit you. You can collect all 8 main masks and go to the past, where you will awaken the heavy mask of the leader. Krosis is the best freely available, to get it go to Double-Headed Peak.

Legendary light armor of Skyrim

If you don’t enchant armor yourself, then you will be interested in the legendary sets, and if you don’t have the DLC installed, the best you can get is a scolding from the Dark Brotherhood, or rather its old version in the faction quest “Find an Assassin from the Past”. Her kits have, if not the same parameters, then a little bit better.

Owners of the Dragonborn expansion will have access to two more powerful sets.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim contains a lot of loot that no player can have the same supply after a couple of minutes of play. Weapons are of course vitally important, but what should you choose?

Now Skyrim is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation VR, we're revamping our Skyrim guides to make sure new adventurers have everything they need to get the most out of this massive game. In this guide we are talking about weapons.

In truth, there aren't many absolute best weapons in Skyrim, thanks to the fact that some use of enchantments and other mechanics can make almost any weapon viable on any difficulty - even your bare fists! With that said, some of the most famous weapons in the game are unique weapons that can be found in certain locations or through certain quests. Each unique weapon has its own set properties, a unique name, and very often an enchantment that will give it some special advantage.

What weapons do you have in Skyrim, you can write about it in the comments!

Best Skyrim Daggers

There are over ten unique daggers in the game, but we're going to focus on a couple that we think are particularly excellent. If you're building a character for stealth play, they can prove to be quite a significant weapon for you to have for quite some time.

Mehrunes' razor

Mehrunes' Razor is a decent little dagger thanks to its base damage status of 11, but what really sets it apart is its enchantment. Any strike with Mehrunes' Razor has a chance to instantly kill an enemy.

To get the Razor of Mehrunes, you need to complete the Pieces of the Past quest and kill Silus Vesui at the end of the quest. You will be prompted to complete this quest once you reach level 20 through a courier, or you can stumble upon the quest by walking around Dawnstar; where they will tell you about the Silus Museum, that’s where you need to go to start the mission.

Blade of Woe

This dagger is even more powerful than Mehrunes' Razor with a base damage of 12, and its enchantment is useful for fighting powerful enemies - each blow absorbs 10 health points.

The Blade of Woe can be obtained from NPCs during the Death Incarnate quest, part of the Dark Brotherhood faction quest line. You can also follow the early steps of the quest and kill Astrid during the quest "With Friends Like These". You will be able to take the Blade of Woe from her body, but you will no longer be able to join the brotherhood.

Weapon Damage Weight Upgrade with Ingot, Perk Effect
Dragon bone dagger 12 6,5 Dragon bone, dragon armor No
Blade of Woe 12 7 Steel ingot Drain 10 health
Mehrunes' razor 11 3 Ebony Ingot 1.98% chance to kill instantly, infinite charges
Daedric Dagger 11 6 Ebony Ingot, Daedric Smith No
Stalhrim Dagger 10 4.5 Ebony armor Frost spell enchantment is 25% stronger

Best Skyrim Maces

There are even fewer unique maces in the game, but some of them are still impressive. Maces are really meant for people who want to master the real power of the character and deal devastating blows to their enemies.

Mace of Molag Bal

This artifact is quite powerful, with a base damage of 16. It also comes with an enchantment that takes away 25 points of damage, stamina and magic. On top of that, if the target dies within 3 seconds, you will fill the soul gem.

The Mace is given to you after completing Daegric Quest House of Horrors. In the city of Markarth, a leader named Tyranus will ask you to help find an abandoned house. As soon as you enter the house with or without a hint, this quest will begin. Finish the quest, take the mace.

Best Skyrim Swords

Swords are, of course, the most common weapon class you'll find in Skyrim. There are many of them, they are unique and scattered throughout the world. For you, we have collected the best examples that are worthy of being seen.

Miraak's Sword

Original Skyrim players may not be familiar with the Sword of Miraak since it was added in the Dragonborn DLC, but it's a pretty damn good weapon. The sword absorbs stamina thanks to its enchantment, and it has consistent damage.

To get your hands on it, you will need to start quests with the dragon priest by going to the island of Solstheim. When you are ready, two priests will tell you about the "first dragon" and try to kill you. This will start the DLC quest line. After several quests, you will be taken to the final Dragonborn quest, at Apocrypha Summit. You will be able to pick up this weapon as loot from a corpse at the end of this quest. It's a long process to get there, but it's worth it.

Cooler

Chiller is a glass sword and is great for enemies who don't like frost damage. His spells inflict frost damage and have a chance to paralyze enemies.

The weapon is held by the leader of the thieves guild, Mercy Frey. The easiest way to access it is to find it in Frey's house during the thieves guild quest "The Purist". It is proudly displayed in its case and has an expert lock that you can pick to gain access to it. Keep in mind that this weapon is level dependent, so how good it is will be determined by your level.

Curse of the Dragon

Do you spend an awful lot of time in Skyrim fighting dragons? Curse of the Dragon means it deals extra damage to dragons. This sword is level dependent, so its performance will be partially determined by your level when you first pick it up.

The Dragon's Curse is found in the Sky Temple during the Walls of Alduin quest and is an important step in the game's main story. In order to take it you need to find a room next to the main chamber of the temple.

Strangler and Bloody Scythe

Two more weapons that were added to the Dragonborn DLC. These two swords were designed to be double-bladed. When activated, the player gains a powerful enchantment to absorb magic and health, reducing the target's defenses from further physical and magical attacks.

You will need to reach the Dragonborn quest line to get to Solstheim. Once you reach level 36 or higher, you will find a copy of the book, Deathbrand, inside Tel Mithryn or Raven's Rock Temple. You will receive both of these weapons through the quest.

Black Blade of Gauldur

Gauldur's Black Blade is another level-dependent weapon, meaning its effectiveness will be determined by your level when you first find it. The best version of it is used at level 36. As a weapon of the ancient Nord, the Dwarven Blacksmith's Fist will help you make it even more deadly.

The sword can be picked up during the quest “Forbidden Legend”. You can start this quest by reading the book Lost Legends - this will begin the search for the legend of Galdur. You can find one of the books naturally; you will find it on the body of a dead adventurer in the Reachwater cliff. Later in the quest you will find yourself in the ruins of Golguntur - upon completion, this sword will be your reward.

Best Skyrim Battle Axes

Battle axes are a less popular weapon than the sword. We've selected a couple of axes to show you.

Okin

Okin is a cool Nordic battle axe. It contains a frost enchantment, and is dangerous for the enemy's stamina, health, and also has a stable base damage of 12. It can be upgraded and leveled up with a forged piece of steel.

To enjoy Okin, you need to do the quest Silence of Tongues. You can find it in the rubble of Volundrud by exploring around - you will find notes that will start pushing you towards the quest. Eventually you will receive this weapon as a reward.

Dawnguard Rune Ax

As the name of this weapon suggests, it can be found in the Dawnguard DLC pack. It uses solar damage against undead, and the amount of damage increases with each undead enemy you have killed with an ax since the last sunrise - this is its unique effect.

To get this weapon, simply purchase the Dawnguard DLC. Eventually you'll come across the Lost Relic quest. These are quests that will send you on a quest to find a random artifact, but if you keep doing these quests, you will eventually receive that item.

Battle axes and hammers, Greatswords

For players who like to play with two-handed weapons, Skyrim has quite a few unique types of axes, hammers and swords. So we grouped them together.

Wuuthrad

If you don't like elves, this weapon is definitely for you. It deals even more damage to elves, and that's on top of its base damage set at 25. It also looks pretty bloody, to be honest.

In order to become the owner of this weapon, you need to complete the “Final Duty” task, and for this you will have to join the “Companions” faction. The Last Duty is the final quest for this faction. You can take Wuuthrad's ax on the statue by activating it.

Ax of Sorrow

It is described as a very powerful weapon - it has a base damage of 22. It can be upgraded at the forge.

The ax can be found in the Daedra search. Once you reach level 10 or higher, you will want to find Lod near the entrance to Falkreth. When given the chance, kill Barbas with the axe. You must use an ax to kill him. You can save it as a reward.

Bloodthirsty Blade

Originally added in the Dragonborn DLC, this greatsword releases an energy blast when you make an attack. The energy blast also deals 30 damage.

You need to start the Dragonborn main quest and then head to Raven Rock Mine. Chat with Cresius at the entrance to the mine and begin the quest “The Last Descent”. You will find the blade near the remains of Gratian Kaerellius later in the quest, in the Bloody Swamp.

Volendrung

This massive hammer has a slightly vicious appearance and an absolutely ridiculous base damage of 47. It also absorbs stamina, very useful for a weapon of this size of this deadly nature.

The Daedric Prince will give it to you as part of the “Cursed Tribe” quest. To accept this quest, you need to go to the Orca fortress in Largashbur. Try to save the life of the orc Ugor, who will then help you in this quest.

Best Skyrim Bows

Bows are useful for players who like to stay at a distance and shoot enemies with a hail of arrows. Here is our selection of long range bows.

Nightingale onion

The Nightingale Bow is actually owned by Karliah, a member of the thieves' guild and a temporary follower of Dragonborn for some of that guild's quests. His spell allows him to freeze and shock the target, which is very convenient. This is a level dependent weapon, so its power will depend on your level when you get it. The best version is at level 46 and above.

To become the owner of the Nightingale Bow, you will have to join the Thieves Guild and follow your quest line. By the end of this quest series you will receive the Blindsighted quest. This bow is a reward for completing this quest. He also gives you a bone key, so this is a really useful quest.

Glass Bow of the Deer King

This bow has a charm that blesses you for every 20 animals you kill with a bow, ideal for hunting. Blessing does the most, but it also provides a significant boost to health and stamina while the bow is equipped.

You can get the bow from Falas Selvane at the old trading post. It's on the island of Solstheim, so it's part of the Dragonborn DLC. The bow can be taken by stealing it or simply buying it.

Gauldur's Black Bow

This item has priority based on your level, that is, its effectiveness will be determined by your level when you first equip it. The best version is at level 36.

The bow can be picked up during the quest “Forbidden Legend”. You can start this quest by reading the book Lost Legends - it will start with finding the legend of Galdur. If you don't find one of the books naturally, you can take it from the dead adventurer in Reachwater Cliff. The quest will eventually lead you to Geirmund's Hall, where you will fight Sigdis Galdurson. The bow will be your reward.
