rested from May 6 to 13, in the afternoon 28-33, cold in the evening 18-20.... sea 22-24, I don’t understand who writes about some 15 degrees, here in March 17-18))) and so, of course I It’s thermophilic and I like it when during the day it’s about 40 and the sea is 27, but if we take the generally accepted canons, it’s quite comfortable.

My husband gave me a gift for my birthday - he bought trips to Turkey. We vacationed in Alanya from May 15 to 24, prices at this time were still low. The weather was excellent on average, 28-30 degrees. The sand on the beach got so hot after lunch that you could no longer walk barefoot. But the sea had not yet warmed up to a comfortable temperature; in the first days it was 15-17 degrees. The only clothes we needed were T-shirts and shorts; even in the evening we wore light summer clothes. The forecast predicted rain a couple of times during this time, but fortunately for us, there were no rains.

We were in Turkey that year. The sea was not very warm, there were few people. The water reached its most pleasant temperature closer to four o'clock. Despite this, the sun burned every day. And don’t let the shadow deceive you, it’s easy to burn until you get a crimson color. The advantage of the climate in those places is the lack of stuffiness when maximum temperature. You don't leak and you don't choke. You can safely cover yourself to escape the sun. You won't feel stuffy.

We vacationed in Alanya at the beginning of May, at the very beginning of the season. At this time the most low prices and there are few vacationers, and the weather is excellent for those who do not like heat: during the day +22 degrees in the shade and +26 in the sun, at night +19. The only problem is the cold sea, it is impossible to swim (about +20 Celsius). I do not recommend coming with children at this time. The water in the pools is generally comfortable: cool in the morning, but warmed up to a pleasant temperature during the day. For several days in a row it rained at night and was cloudy during the day. In the evening we wore light jackets.

The three of us flew with a friend and his girlfriend. We were there for only 10 days, but during the whole time there was only one slight rain; the rest of the days it was so hot that we could barely escape) Several years ago we came here, but the weather was completely terrible, the holiday was ruined. But this time everything is different!

We rested for 2 weeks at the end of the month. We were very lucky with the weather, it was just right. The temperature at night did not drop below +15, during the day the air warmed up to 30-35, the sky was absolutely clear, all the time we were resting. There was a slight breeze, about 3-5 meters per second, blowing almost constantly. The sea was quite cool, about 18-20 degrees, with a little roughness. There was a small storm for about 2 days, but then everything calmed down.

On May holidays We flew to the Mediterranean Sea to Turkey to swim. Alanya was chosen as the resort. Although Alanya is one of the southernmost sea resorts Turkey, the weather in early May was not particularly beachy. Of course, it was warm all day; in the evening we also walked without jackets. But the water in the sea was invigorating, not like in summer or early autumn. Therefore, if you choose Turkey in May, consider the middle or end of the month.

They gave me a vacation in May. I was upset because all my native resorts are still practically closed. A friend advised me to fly to Alanya, where she was in April. I listened to the advice. I didn't expect this clean sea and how many warm sun. The beaches are huge, the sand is clean. The mountainous terrain pleases the eye, everything is in bloom. Every day there was no wind. The water in the sea is warm. Swimming and sunbathing is a pleasure. At this time there were few vacationers and it was possible to walk along the beaches. I like it. On next year I will definitely go at this time.

Türkiye remains favorite place holidays for Russians in 2019. Many would like to visit Alanya in May: after harsh winter everyone wants more sun, beach holidays and warm weather. Even the fact that the city is located far enough from the airport does not stop people. Millions of tourists travel to this sunny country every year. The citizens of our country especially loved the warmest Turkish resort- Alanya.

Alanya is quite hot and sunny in May: average temperature 19-26 degrees. The weather is changeable: the thermometer scale sometimes drops to 15 degrees or rises to 27-32 degrees. On such days it is quite possible to sunbathe. Swimming at this time of year is for those who are not afraid of water with a temperature of no more than 20 degrees. The water temperature in Alanya is 20 degrees for most Russians, which is acceptable for swimming in the sea.

Sometimes in May it can be cloudy in Alanya, and cool at night and in the morning. Occasionally there are weak ones showers. Travelers should take into account vagaries in advance May weather and decide on leisure: if you rely only on beach holiday, there is a risk of spending all the time in the hotel.

What to do in Alanya in May in bad weather?

If the weather is capricious, the sun is not shining and there is light rain, excursions will be a great way to spend your time in Alanya. You can book excursions directly at the hotel: there are a great many of them. You can take a trip on a yacht across the sea, ride a jeep or ATV, or take a paragliding flight.

Alanya has many interesting attractions:

  • East market. Here tourists will find whole scatterings of fresh fruits. Some of them are better, others are worse. You should definitely try mango and exotic medlar, but it’s better not to take strawberries: in May, in Turkey, they sell mainly berries from greenhouses, which are not distinguished by high taste;
  • sea port. A beautiful view of the huge embankment, ocean-going ships sleeping in the roadstead, the blue sea and the ramparts;
  • fortress. Alanya is home to one of the oldest fortresses in Turkey. Entrance to it, interestingly, is free. The site offers an excellent panorama of the city;
  • shopping. There are many clothing stores in Alanya where you can buy fairly high-quality and inexpensive knitwear;
  • in numerous hammams and beauty salons you can undergo peeling procedures, body wraps, spa treatments, manicures, pedicures, hairstyles, etc.

Alanya itself has a special oriental flavor: the facades of buildings and hotels are often made in an old style. Unlike many other places in Turkey, it is very clean. The squares in the city are wide, with big amount green spaces.

What you will need in Alanya in May

The fact that money and documents are needed is clear to everyone. In addition, in Alanya you will need:

  • swimsuits, sunscreen, hats, glasses (yes, in May sunny days not so many, but they will definitely be);
  • windbreaker (after all, in May in Alanya it is not as hot as in June-August);
  • in addition to a windbreaker, be sure to take jeans, a sweater or a tracksuit;
  • umbrella (rains in Alanya in May are not uncommon);
  • photo or video equipment.

In May 2019, the weather in Alanya is still unstable and changeable: it is quite capable of presenting tourists with an unpleasant surprise. It depends on your luck: the resort will greet some tourists with heat, others with coolness. Most often, during their vacation, travelers receive a full range of temperature sensations: from real heat to almost September cold. Sometimes the sky becomes cloudy and it starts to rain, and sometimes the showers come without a break and the sun does not appear in the sky. In general, the average temperature in Alanya is 22-25 degrees, there is rarely wind here, sometimes it is cloudy, and the water temperature in the Mediterranean Sea is 16-20 degrees.

Features of holidays in Alanya in May 2019

Turkish has its own characteristics; it cannot be called classical. Many tourists have a well-established, stereotypical idea of staying at the resorts of this Mediterranean country - beach holidays, tasty food, various drinks. Of course, such a vacation can hardly be called healthy.

In May 2018, there are plenty of opportunities for a good rest in Alanya: hiking, various excursions. The weather this spring month The mild, sweltering heat has not yet arrived at the resort.

However, you shouldn’t forget about a beach holiday. The sun is already shining quite strongly and there are some nice days. Girls are unlikely to dare to swim in the rather cold sea, but men frolic with all their might. The sun is pleasant, not scorching, the tan in May is very beautiful and even.

If you intend to visit Antalya in May, you need to carefully choose your hotel. It must have a swimming pool, because the sea does not yet allow comfortable swimming. It is advisable that the pool is located not on the street, but inside the hotel. People with children should especially pay attention to the presence of a swimming pool: children love to splash around in the water.

What food can you try in Alanya in May?

Türkiye is an abundant country with a huge number of cafes and restaurants. Here you can all year round eat a variety of delicacies: baklava, marshmallows, Turkish delight. Be sure to try the kadaif - delicious dessert, which will not leave anyone indifferent.

Already in early May, oranges ripen in Alanya. Turkish oranges are large, juicy and incredibly tasty. There is no need to talk about the freshness of the fruit. Many tourists do not expect to see ripe oranges on tree branches at this time, and for them it becomes a pleasant surprise.

Hotel staff warn guests that picking oranges from branches is prohibited and a fine will be charged for this. If you really want to try the fruit from the tree, it is unlikely that anyone will swear if you pick 1-2 oranges. Bananas also grow in Turkey, but in May they are still green. There is still a long way to go before pomegranates ripen: at the end of spring they just begin to bloom.

Turkish counters are overflowing with all kinds of fruits: some fruits are difficult to immediately identify, and locals use very unusual names to refer to them.

Tourists

May is a popular time for a holiday in Alanya, so there are a lot of tourists here. However, as well as on the entire coast. The vast majority - over 80% - are Russians. This is due to the fact that only in Russia there are long May holidays, and people can afford to relax. Foreign travelers arrive en masse in Antalya a little later - in the second ten days of June.

What animals can you see in Alanya?

Unlike India or Thailand, animal world Turkey is no different in diversity. And we can’t say that this is bad. The most that tourists can see walking around freely are cats, dogs and peacocks. The latter, by the way, are quite common.

There are no mosquitoes, biting flies or ants in Alanya, so there is no need to take insect repellent with you.

Video: water temperature in Turkey in May

Watch the video: what is the water temperature in Turkey in May and is it suitable for swimming in the sea?

Air and water temperatures for May in Alanya:

  • Air 20-25 degrees
  • Water 20-21 degrees

Unfortunately, in the first ten days of the month, when the city is literally flooded with crowds of vacationers from Russia, the sea water temperature is far from ideal. But these are the realities weather in Alanya! On average, the water in the resort water area warms up to only +20°C. Therefore, you can completely forget about bathing children and teenagers during this period. However, at the end of May, the water temperature rapidly rises to comfortable values, reaching +23-24°C. It is not for nothing that there is a strong opinion among people that the sea of Alanya in May is “the warmest” on the entire Mediterranean coast of Turkey.

By the way, on the eve of summer, water fun is not limited to swimming, because water parks and many dive centers begin to open. Romantic evening walks along the coast on large yachts are also becoming popular. Despite the victorious march of spring, in May the weather in Alanya can bring surprises in the form of rain. True, there are only five or six rainy days in a month, and the precipitation is very light and short-lived. The closer we get to June, the less and less the chance of rain becomes.

The weather at the end of the month is clear, cloudless and windless. In other words, almost summer. The winds gradually subside, as did the former rough seas. Now, more and more often, complete calm reigns in the waters of Alanya. If we don’t talk about the first ten days, people choose a holiday in Turkey in mid-May in the hope of getting maximum pleasure for modest money. During this period, hotel prices are very affordable, and there are no huge crowds of vacationers on the beaches or city streets. On the other hand, incomplete occupancy of hotels often leads to various kinds

savings, for example, to a more modest menu in restaurants or the number of staff served. You must be prepared for the absence of animation teams or evening shows.

By the way, in leather and fur stores in the city you can buy the remnants of last year’s collections at very reasonable prices. In May, traders are only trying to move prices up, carefully watching the reaction of buyers.

I have never been to Alanya before. Judging by the reviews, there was something to see there.

I couldn’t find any company, so I had to go alone. The tour was booked online on the website. The tour cost 15 thousand +2 thousand fuel surcharge. I took a city hotel in the center of Alanya, three stars, all inclusive.

On May 1 at 4:30 our plane took off from Domodedovo, and at about 8 o’clock in the morning we landed in Antalya. The time in Turkey is the same as in Moscow; there was no need to change the clocks.

So, we arrived. Sun, warmth. They took off their jackets and stripped down to their T-shirts. We boarded buses until 9, then we went.

Distance from Antalya to Alanya – 150 km, the drive takes about 2 hours. The track is good. We passed Belek with its pine forests, and the steppe stretched out. By left side The Tavros Mountains were visible in the distance.

Then the highway approached the sea, and resort settlements began: Karaburun, Incekum, Avsalar, Konakli. All of them, together with the city of Alanya, form one resort area. When choosing a hotel in Alanya, keep this in mind and pay attention to where exactly it is located. The tour operator will list “Alanya, hotel (for example) “Angelika”, and this hotel is located in the village of Konakli, 6-8 km from Alanya.
Alanya and surrounding villages

Where is it better to live: in villages or Alanya itself? Cheaper, of course, in the villages. The price of a good five-star hotel in the suburbs is equal to a miserable three ruble in Alanya. This is the main advantage of choosing a hotel in Konakli, Incekum, etc. And, in principle, if you are only going on a beach holiday and want to take a break from city life, you can choose a suburb.

But, to be honest, I didn’t like the suburb at all. This is a continuous series of hotels, behind which stretches the bare steppe. Lots of construction projects. The beach in many places is separated from the hotels by the highway, so that when you drive, there is a strip of beaches on the right and a cluster of hotels on the left.

By right hand- sandy beaches

on the left - hotels

some hotels are on the right, near the sea

Sometimes the road was completely pressed against the sea:

And one more minus, significant specifically for May - Alanya itself, fenced off by a wall of mountains, has its own microclimate, and swimming season starts earlier here. But in the steppe villages the water is cooler. While we were driving along the sea, I didn’t see a single swimmer until Alanya.

And in Alanya itself people swam, although not so much.

And those who lived in the villages swam only in pools.

Hotel on the road (very close to the highway)

However, they lived in incomparably better conditions. In addition, there is a regular bus along the sea through all the villages to the center of Alanya, so you can always come to the city if you wish.

In general, we drove along the sea and took people to their hotels along the road. And then we passed the tunnel, and the landscape quickly changed: the steppe disappeared, mountains appeared, and one of the mountains protruded far into the sea, and partly resembled the Crimean Ayudag.

Around the corner - Alanya

I immediately liked Alanya. Low buildings, a lot of greenery, a nice embankment.

Ataturk Boulevard is the main street of Alanya

My hotel, called Mirage, was the very last one, and it really turned out to be a mirage for me, because upon arrival there, the boy at the reception said that the hotel was not ready for guests to move in (why was it confirmed then?), and they would put me in another hotel, closer to the center . And they took me there by car.

My new hotel was called Neray and it certainly wasn’t paradise. In its center there was a light well, with four rings-floors around the perimeter.

Hotel Neray

Light well inside a building

On the ground floor there was a reception and a dining room. There was also an outdoor swimming pool. I arrived just in time for dinner, so the entire small audience of Nerai was assembled - about 15 people, all Russian speakers, and everyone had arrived the night before on the same flight.

The assortment of dishes was meager, and I was somehow even surprised, because I did not expect such modesty from Turkey. One meat dish, tomatoes, cucumbers, grated carrots, herbs and, for dessert, sliced oranges. On the other hand, I thought, it’s even good for me - at least a little “I’ll go into the shores.” Rolls and sweets are absolutely useless.

After lunch, the employee guy and I went to check me in and couldn’t find a room without any shortcomings. In the end, I settled on the room with the least number of them - it just had a door to the balcony that didn’t close and the panel from the shower was torn off. “It’s okay, the water after the shower will then leak into the hole in the floor,” the boy promised. “And no one will climb onto the balcony: the fourth floor.” He was sad and big-eyed and resembled the melancholy donkey Eeyore. Uzbek, as it turned out.

My number

View from the window

OK, time is running, and I spend it on such uninteresting things. I quickly packed my backpack and went to the beach.

Cleopatra Beach

I had previously studied the map of Alanya and knew that for swimming I had to go to Cleopatra Beach, which starts on the right side of the Ayudaga mountain. Strictly speaking, the part of the beach adjacent to the mountain is designated on the map as Dalmatash Beach (the Dalmatash Cave is also located there), which then turns into Cleopatra Beach, but in fact it is the same strip of sand.

The beaches in Alanya are municipal; they stretch for many kilometers on both sides of the mountain - in a continuous strip, without breaking into pieces of hotel beaches. Entrance to the beaches is free. Sunbed rental – 2 liras (approximately 40 rubles). But many vacationers lie on the sand on their towels. There is no charge for using the showers and changing cabins.

All days the weather was sunny and warm, up to 24-25 degrees. Sea – 19-20. True, on the first day heavy clouds hung over the mountains, but they did not reach the city.

Cleopatra Beach is considered the best beach Alanya. The sunset is sandy, the water is clear, of an unusual fresh blue hue.

Cleopatra Beach

Waves with whitecaps crashed onto the shore, but how could they stop a man who arrived from the north! I rush into the water and now I’m bobbing up and down on high waves - in the company of a few teenagers.

The prudent public lies on the beach and absorbs the sun and sea air. Also good!

Alanya embankment

After swimming, I walk along the embankment. May 1st is also a holiday in Turkey. Everyone is resting. Someone sits on the grass under the trees, spreading a tablecloth with food, someone walks along the alleys.

There is a park area along the beach

There are exercise machines installed on the embankment; you can exercise on each of them as you pass by. There are a succession of sports fields: volleyball, basketball - and passions are running high on each of them. The tennis tables are also not empty.

A huge flow of tourists rush to Turkey in May. The main part will relax at local resorts at the beginning of the month, when there are May holidays in Russia. And if so, then everyone is interested in information about what the weather will be like in Alanya in May in 2019 and what the sea water temperature will be. In short, the weather will be sunny, but the sea may let you down. Read reviews from tourists. look at the photos and videos and find out all the information you need further.

With the beginning of May, a full-fledged beach season. Already at the end of April, many hotels report that their rooms are occupied. And if so, then those who want to relax here for the May holidays should take care of booking a room in advance. And to save a little on your trip, it’s better to book a tour in January or February.

At the end of spring and beginning of May, the weather is warm and sunny. The daytime temperature does not drop below +24 degrees, and sometimes it even seems like summer has arrived, as the thermometers show +33. Such hot weather It rarely happens in May, but it happens 2-3 times a month. This usually happens at the end of the month, but according to weather forecasters, it can be hot up to +30 and a little higher at the beginning of May.
The nights are not yet as warm as in summer, but after sunset you can still walk along the embankment for a couple of hours, admire the sea and starry sky. As soon as the sun disappears below the horizon, it becomes +20. Closer to midnight the air cools down to minimum values+15. And already in the morning, when the first rays of the sun appear, it is again warm +20. If you look at the average daily temperature, then it just stays at the level of +20 degrees, which is good news.

Rain is not that uncommon here at this time of year. There is only one full rainy day. On this day it rains continuously all day and may continue the next morning. In total, it can rain 9 times in a month. Usually it ends quickly and lasts no more than three hours. During the rainy season, about 17-20 millimeters of precipitation falls. So we can conclude that in May in Alanya the rains are light and not heavy. And if you get caught in the rain, you can shelter from it with a regular umbrella.
I am very pleased with the daylight hours, which lasts 13-14.7 hours. This is the time when the sun shines over the resort. But after sunset the sun does not get dark immediately. It will be light for another hour or so and walks along the seashore at this time are very popular among tourists. It also dawns early here; already at six in the morning local time the sun shines over the sea and begins to warm the air for tourists.
