According to the second version, casual owes its appearance to Scandinavia. Back in the 16th century, the peoples of Sweden, Finland, and Norway formed their own style, called Scandinavian. Later he began to be considered the progenitor of casual.
This style was determined by the harsh climate of Scandinavia: warm knitted sweaters, layering, voluminous outerwear (jackets, peacoats), voluminous scarves, hats. That is, the Scandinavians gave preference, first of all, to warm and comfortable clothing that did not restrict movement, and its beauty was a secondary matter. In addition, their style was characterized by laconicism and simplicity of cut, minimalism, and neutral colors.
This modesty in clothing was facilitated by the national mentality: Scandinavian asceticism, strict religious views (Protestant), and lack of desire for luxury. But much attention was paid to the quality of things, because good quality is a guarantee of durability. Therefore, preference was given to natural materials: wool, linen, cotton.
However, it doesn’t matter where casual takes its origins from, the main thing is that this style has rightfully taken its niche among other style trends. Ease, simplicity and conciseness make casual clothing attractive to modern society. Casual clothing, as a rule, is easily combined with other things and fits harmoniously into the wardrobe. Freedom from unnecessary elements gives room for imagination and allows you to emphasize individuality.
Casual – style or dress code?
Initially, casual was conceived as one of the types of dress code, only more informal, with minimal requirements, practically without restrictions, with an emphasis on convenience and comfort. But in modern society, casual has been allocated a separate niche in style trends, endowing it with clear attributes and characteristics that allow us to talk about casual as a separate style. Although, for example, in the American style system, casual is completely absent. In America, it's casual - that's the dress code.
But we are not in America, so let’s start from the fact that casual is, after all, a style, and, accordingly, it has certain rules, following which you can look fashionable, stylish, interesting and communicate through clothes a specific message to others. Moreover, casual allows in this regard much more than any other style, since it does not have strict standards and restrictions. By dressing casually, you can, firstly, look good, secondly, feel comfortable, and thirdly, emphasize your individuality.
Specifics (essence) of casual style
The word “casual” literally translates as casual, casual, everyday. Following this, we can conclude that dressing in a casual style is extremely simple: take the first thing you come across, put it on and go. In fact, it's not like that at all, and this approach doesn't work. Unfortunately, most people are sure that stylish, beautiful and convenient, comfortable are two opposing principles that do not combine with each other. And it is casual that is intended to demonstrate that this is not so. But in order to master the art of dressing in a casual style, you either need to have an innate taste and a special perception of fashion and style, or seek help from highly qualified stylists, or gradually, bit by bit, collect information, look through many photographs and study all the nuances characteristic of the style casual.

There will be a separate discussion about dresses and skirts, since they, in principle, are not included in the basic wardrobe in a casual style. Why? Yes, because these dresses and skirts, first of all, refer us to femininity; they do not evoke an association with convenience and comfort. Therefore, they are not mandatory for a casual style. But, if you want variety, pay attention to models such as a sweater dress, a shirt dress, a knitted knitted dress with a simple cut, as well as a minimalist one-piece dress without decoration. Sport casual
Since a healthy lifestyle and sports are now in fashion, Sport casual has become widespread. Sport casual speaks for itself. This is a casual trend, which often borrows elements of sports style: polo shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, bomber jackets, sweatshirts, puffy vests, baseball caps, sneakers, sneakers. Sport casual is not clothing for sports, but clothing for walks, picnics, etc. These clothes are convenient and comfortable, but you won’t go to the gym in them. When choosing the color of a shirt, be guided, again, by the ability to combine it with other wardrobe elements. Universal colors: white, blue, burgundy, black, gray. However, it’s still worth having a couple of color options to diversify your wardrobe.
A casual shirt, like a shirt under a suit, should be suitable in collar width and sleeve length. The easiest option is to put on a shirt and try to stick 2 fingers between your neck and collar. When turning your head, the collar should remain in place.

The world was changing, technology was developing, free time was decreasing in availability, the need for the functionality of clothing was growing, the severity of fashion trends was passing, young mothers were increasingly becoming something more than just housewives, and men did not want to simply limit themselves to a formal suit and sportswear for tennis lessons. We ourselves did not notice how almost every fourth, and maybe even third, in our world began to fit the word “style”, and also such a loud-sounding word as “casual”.
Style "casual" unique: it has few restrictions and includes almost all items of clothing. So, to stay in the “casual” style, you can wear knitwear, linen, jeans, various dresses, skirts, trousers and bags. The main thing is that the appearance creates a cozy effect not only for you, but also for the eyes of others. Until recently, the main colors of the “casual” style were light earthy and beige shades, which combine perfectly and almost seamlessly with each other.
