President of the RHANA Medical Corporation Ekaterina Dibrova reflects on an integrated approach to aging issues and how, with increasing life expectancy, we can help each person maintain high quality of life, ability to work and activity for as long as possible.

— Ekaterina, you are currently promoting a franchising project in the field of medical and cosmetology services based on a registered Japanese drug. Tell us how it all began and why you decided to collaborate with Japanese colleagues.

Let's remember what Japan is associated with. Above all, with longevity and excellent quality. In my opinion, the quality of Japanese pharmaceutical and cosmetic products should be a standard for manufacturers around the world. However, such goods from Japan are very sparingly represented outside its borders, including on the Russian market. This is due to the Japanese mentality; they are very reluctant to share their developments, especially high-tech ones, which fully applies to Laennec, the only placental drug based on low-molecular peptides, which is included in Japan in the state health insurance program for the nation. The Japanese generally have a very interesting approach to their health. What is their philosophy? They try to set the order of their life priorities, lead a high-quality lifestyle and consume exclusively healthy food. Moreover, by lifestyle I mean not only the absence of bad habits and physical education, but also regular medical examinations and health prevention.

In addition, their desire to achieve harmony with the world around them and with themselves through the development of such qualities as restraint and contemplation is of great importance. As for consumer preferences, the Japanese try to include as many natural products as possible in their diet.

A healthy lifestyle also includes adherence to ethical standards. Having understood all this, I realized that from an ethical point of view, this placental preparation is an absolutely correctly created product, because it no longer belongs to either the mother or the child, and most importantly, it does not use either stem or embryonic cells.

Moreover, only an absolutely healthy woman can be included in the state program for placenta collection in Japan - all participants undergo a number of tests and analyses, the selection is very strict. But even if all these conditions are met, the placenta is considered suitable only if the birth was successful, the pregnancy is full, and the expectant mother has never traveled outside of Japan.

This is the attitude towards the quality of raw materials. Then, when it arrives at the plant, it is processed in strict accordance with GMP standards and in an absolutely sterile environment. I discovered this direction for myself 20 years ago, when I accompanied my husband - a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, a biophysicist, a famous scientist in the field of oncology - on a trip to a medical conference. In general, I am an economist by education, an organizer by nature, so, having undergone appropriate training in the specialty “Organization of Medical Affairs,” I founded my own company and began to rebuild it literally brick by brick, because there was nowhere to expect any investments. Of course, my husband helped me scientifically and medically, and he still helps me to this day. We are one team. He is my teacher and chief censor.

Surely you have encountered certain difficulties. Tell us in more detail what path you and your company have taken personally to firmly occupy your niche in the market.

Difficulties are putting it mildly. For me, this work is comparable only to preparing a flight into space (smiles). It must be said that concluding a contract not only for the production, but even for the use of such a drug is not very easy. The Japanese are extremely responsible when choosing partners. I succeeded only because I found a Japanese company that could vouch for me and recommended me as a person who could be relied upon in business (although my husband and I’s reputation in scientific circles also played a role). A representative of this company, on one of his visits to Russia, was able to personally observe how we work and what kind of people we are. For the Japanese, it is very important to know who you are dealing with - a businessman who is looking for short-term profit, or someone who wants to build the foundation of a serious socially useful business. And when he was convinced that I was determined to solve an important social problem, he willingly helped me. However, only scientific research, correct positioning and advancement in the right direction can ensure a long life for any drug. But the most important point in this program, of course, is registration.

In Russia, officially registering such a drug requires incredible efforts, because it is very difficult to convince the entire medical community that this is an effective remedy, the safety and effectiveness of which has been proven. This path took five years, during which an aesthetic direction appeared in our work - a comprehensive program of beauty and health, because we had to start somehow earning money in order to simultaneously promote the main idea, participating in research and collecting significant evidence base.

Finally, the drug was registered as a hepatoprotector because that is how it is registered in Japan. After the tragedy in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the issue of effective restoration of such a difficult organ to treat as the liver became very urgent. In 1953, Japanese scientist Hieda Kentaro began developing a unique placental drug, based on the dissertation of the famous Russian academician Vladimir Petrovich Filatov.

In general, what the Japanese have no equal in is that they find interesting innovations all over the world and refine them taking into account their unique technological capabilities, and they never hide whose original idea it was. Their job is to bring it to market as a finished product. In Japan, it is enough to register a drug once, and then the doctor, at his discretion, can prescribe it for a variety of diseases.

In Russia the legislation is different; the use of the same drug for treatment and prevention in different fields of medicine is possible only if it is registered accordingly. Therefore, having noticed the effect of Laennec on the immune status of the Japanese, we conducted large-scale research at the Institute of Immunology of the FMBA under the supervision of Academician Rakhim Musaevich Khaitov, his scientific supervisor, proved that the drug is an immunomodulator and registered it as such. Now we have two large areas where it can be applied. Then, from the point of view of hepatoprotection and immunomodulation, we began to conduct research in other areas, especially in gynecology, because in Japan this drug is actively used both in reproductive health programs and in programs for menopausal and postmenopausal periods. But we didn’t stop there either, because the main goal is still the introduction in our country of the Japanese model of maintaining health and longevity based on Laennec. This should be a social program, and for people of pre-retirement age, because, firstly, it relates to the field of preventive and restorative medicine and rehabilitation - therefore, it saves the state from the costs of treating the population for diseases acquired with age, and secondly, financially quite “lifting”. This is an increase in the quality of life due to active longevity.

However, as you noted, you need to make money. But today's consumer has become more sophisticated and demanding. In this environment, business growth opportunities lie in increased productivity and efficiency. How to achieve this?

I found the answer to this question for myself by developing a franchising project that guarantees premium medical service to patients at very low costs. For 50 years, the LAENNEK CABINET® network has been developing in Japan, which is supported by the state program “Health of the Nation”.

This is a fully developed business model, within which we provide our franchisees not only with the drug itself and the technologies for working with it, but also with centralized advertising support and promotion assistance. There is a hotline where you can always contact any of the professors collaborating with us if you need advice regarding a difficult case.

Moreover, we provide free training for doctors at the educational medical center of the RHANA Corporation with subsequent certification of specialists, and until they complete such training, the purchase of a franchise will not be finalized. This is necessary so that we can be sure that inappropriate use of the drug will not discredit our name. Subsequently, we also regularly conduct professional development programs for specialists, author’s seminars, and master classes. This project is quite competitive and cost-effective, since it quickly pays for itself due to, I emphasize once again, the fact that the procedures are not expensive.

- What does this franchising project give to the patient?

First of all, “Laennec-cabinet” is a technology of active longevity, a service for the prevention of a healthy lifestyle. The patient undergoes a quick diagnosis of his health status. This is followed by the selection of an individual program and the delivery of the course. This is a unique service, and as global practice shows, patients, having used it once, remain committed to the procedures. The only explanation for this is high efficiency and sustainable results.

- What mistakes would you warn novice franchisees from?

DOSSIER:Ekaterina DIBROVA
President of the RHANA Corporation, Candidate of Economic Sciences, full member of the International Academy of Sciences. Co-author of numerous scientific articles, active participant and popular speaker at various conferences: “Formation of a healthy lifestyle as a personal and national priority” under the auspices of the Federation Council; All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Health of the population of the Russian Federation. Problems of legislative support"; international congress “The health of the nation is the strength of the state”, etc. Organizer of regular scientific and practical events with the participation of leading domestic and foreign experts. Laureate of the “Persons of the Year 2004” competition. Awarded the Honorary Badge of Public Recognition “Star of I.I. Mechnikov." RHANA Medical Corporation is a member of the Center for Community Development of Presidential Initiatives; Member of the Japanese Medical Society of Clinical Placental Medicine (JSCPM). The corporation includes: a network of clinics, distribution, pharmacies, a training center, LAYENNEK-ACADEMY.

First of all, you need to deal only with the original source, because when a new project appears on the market, many counterfeits immediately appear. There is no need to chase the apparent cheapness at the expense of safety and quality. A new business should begin by checking the franchisor’s “ID.” Don't hesitate to ask to see registration documents, including government franchise registrations, technology intellectual property patents, and so on.

- Tell us how you fight counterfeit goods. Is this a serious problem for you?

First of all, Russified packaging approved by Roszdravnadzor has been developed specifically for deliveries and sales in Russia. When purchasing the drug, you should pay attention to the branded Russified packaging, protective hologram and packaging seals; identification number of the produced batch of the drug (indicated on the back of the package, the same number is indicated on each ampoule) and information about the distributor (the mandatory presence of the RHANA logo). We popularize our activities on specialized medical portals.

Roszdravnadzor and the Russian Ministry of Health help us with this by sending letters to medical institutions stating that they do not have the right to purchase a counterfeit drug produced in Korea, which is not approved for use in Russia. This is a criminal offense.

- What is unique about this project for consumers from a medical point of view?

For the patient, along with the immediate effect of using the drug, the advantage of visiting the office is that, before prescribing the procedure, we promptly conduct a full examination (biochemical and clinical blood tests, ultrasound examinations, etc.) in order to have information and about the current condition and chronic diseases. And only on the basis of the examination results, the patient is prescribed one or another program, and the effectiveness of the procedures is also determined by the test results.

How do you work with your consumer? How do you participate in generating demand in such a complex field of activity as yours?

In Japan, there is no need to create demand, because the third generation has grown up and uses such cabinets; for them this is in the order of things, and absolutely necessary things; they even call “Laennec” milk for the cell. But for Russia, creating demand is a difficult task. To explain to a Russian why he needs this, we have to have a half-hour conversation, because for our compatriots this is not entirely traditional medicine. Our goal is to make it a tradition to take care of your health, to prevent illness, and not to treat it. After all, all this used to exist - both medical examination and preventive medicine. We just need to get back to this. Then the demand for our services will increase. There is one more important point.

It is necessary to begin the formation of demand with educational activities in the ranks of the medical community through specialized congresses, symposiums, speeches by our opinion leaders (opinion leader, English - opinion leader, i.e. informal leader, authority in a particular field - editor's note .), who seriously support us, because they give their authoritative assessment, their expert opinion and thereby confirm the high quality of the product. But how to reach the end consumer? Through a network of specialized clinics, where specially trained doctors will work with patients, explaining to them which program they should pay attention to in order to improve or even restore their health.

In addition, surprisingly, in Russia public opinion is still formed through word of mouth, which has now reached a new level - in social networks. This is especially true for public figures who actively blog and share their impressions. After all, our direct consumer will not come to a specialized exhibition or conference, except perhaps to the InterCHARM exhibition...

But for us, participation in it is, rather, not a cause, but a consequence, because our work has two sides of the coin, two aspects - aesthetic and medical. As I already said, for me, mastering the aesthetic component was a forced step, a way to earn money to promote the medical aspect. When the Japanese partners found out about this, they were very surprised, because they did not consider the use of their drug in this way. They really liked this idea, and they began to research how the drug affects the condition of the skin, its smoothness, how it contributes to the disappearance of age spots, etc. We, in turn, based on Japanese experience, have patented the Laennec-pharmacopuncture technology - this is a technique for complex regulatory effects on the body, which consists of making microinjections of the Laennec drug into biologically active points.

Let's talk about quality. What do you think is the significance of this concept in the modern world? Is the role of quality currently increasing or, conversely, decreasing?

I believe that the importance of this concept has certainly increased in recent years. By the way, largely thanks to educational programs on television, such as “Mark of Quality” or “Test Purchase”. Go to any supermarket and you will see that the population has begun to pay attention to the expiration dates and composition of products. And it is right. This means that we are seriously thinking about how to improve the quality of life. Therefore, there should be as many such programs as possible, and as many independent authorities as possible should provide an expert assessment of a particular product or service. As for the drug "Laennec", for example, it was repeatedly tested by various organizations, in particular the Federal Budgetary Institution "Rostest-Moscow". We try to obtain competent opinions from as many independent sources as possible to confirm the high reputation of the product. But this is, in principle, a long process, especially for a drug.

What, in your opinion, is an effective manager, what do the concepts of “manager” and “management” generally mean in your understanding? What personal qualities should a good manager have? What ethical standards must he adhere to?

A good leader, first of all, must clearly see the most effective goal, both general and related daily goals, and be able to set priorities. The second, no less important feature is the ability to form a professional team of like-minded people. Such teams are not born; they need to be raised to be confident in everyone, to sail in the same direction, in the same boat. My closest like-minded people have been working with me for 15 years. I value my team very much, because only the work of a well-coordinated team will allow us to achieve our goal, no matter how ambitious it may be. The third component is the ability to plan. Global goals imply that there must be clear algorithms for their implementation. But medical goals must be righteous. And you should never speak badly about your competitors. Even about your enemies. I always say: let him go in peace. Let your competitor do as he sees fit; It's his choice, not yours.

Based on your experience, could you derive a certain universal formula for success in life, in sports and in business? What does “business excellence” mean to you?

My formula for success is this: don’t block success within yourself. Many people start off very strong and then encounter some unforeseen situations and begin to doubt themselves. The words “doubt,” “I can’t,” and “I don’t know” should never be heard in my office. We must always find an effective solution to the issue, offer new options, and not state that there is a situation that we cannot cope with.

If the universe sends you a chance, you need to use it 100%, otherwise you should not become a leader. Of course, this is a thorny path in which trials follow one after another, and depending on how you cope (or fail) with them, the next task is sent to you. But its solution will not provide a brilliant result if you have not completed the previous one. As for business excellence, for me it is, first of all, setting effective goals and achieving them, a combination of intelligence, the desire to improve and a decent appearance. These are the qualities of a true leader.

"Business Excellence" September 2015

President of the RHANA Corporation Ekaterina Dibrova: “It is possible to manage age!”

Talented managers, thanks to whom brands flourish, are sometimes no less stars than the heroes we see every day on TV screens. The new guest of the “Star Business” column is the president of the RHANA medical corporation Ekaterina Dibrova.

The meeting with Ekaterina took place in her cozy office in the center of Moscow. At the request of HELLO.RU, the popular presenter of Channel One, Svetlana Abramova, went for an interview with the heroine.

Ekaterina, first of all, I can’t help but note that you look great.

Thank you! It's all about an active life position. And it doesn’t matter here whether you are a housewife or a businesswoman with a crazy schedule. Scientists have already proven that if a person wants to be in good shape, he must have active brain activity along with physical activity. I personally am fascinated by the idea that the functioning of our brain directly affects the state of our body.

So you don’t play sports on a regular basis?

When I was young, I did figure skating, I even had a rank. And now I run all over Moscow every day from one meeting to another. I don’t know if this action can be classified as a sport. But I still like active recreation, it’s just that now it has become somehow domestic, or something. My child and I run races, go down the ice slides together, and sometimes, when we can find more time, we race side by side on the ski slope.

What can you say about food? Do you limit your diet in any way?

Never! I am firmly convinced that if you don’t overeat, you can do absolutely anything. My loved ones won’t let me lie, I’m crazy about all kinds of pies and cakes. I just have the right approach to nutrition, I listen to my body. If he wants unhealthy fried potatoes, then I’ll eat them once and voluntarily forget about this product for a long time. And if you deny yourself, you will become stressed and then think about these crispy slices for a whole week. You need to live in joy, otherwise what’s the point...

So, the main thing is to enjoy life, then no diets are needed?

I've never been on a diet. Although every morning I start with 1.5 percent kefir with bran, after which I always eat a little buckwheat porridge with olive oil. But this is not part of any diet, I just like this breakfast. I also always drink a liter of water after waking up.

Liter? I heard that people drink a glass, some even two, but a whole liter...

I like water, this is how I wash my body. Of course, no one says that you need to drink everything in one gulp. I calmly drink in small sips while I get ready for work and do my makeup.

Since you mentioned makeup, tell us what products you use at home?

I use Japanese cosmetics. This is not even just cosmetics, but cosmeceuticals - a new word in the beauty industry. Plant and placental products are supplied to many medical institutions and pharmacies. By the way, in Japan they also attach great importance to how a person cleanses his skin. They have about six stages of cleansing, which use various foams, lotions, scrubs and soaps.

European cosmetology is a trendsetter in the field of thread technologies and fillers, and Japan is famous for its developments in the field of placental preparations and excellent creams. It’s not for nothing that almost the entire Russian mass market is now filled with Japanese brands. Our clinic brings together the best of the best.

I also read on your website that you have a drug that can replace Botox.

And all its charm is that it is not injectable, but externally influenced. You apply the cream from the tube and immediately see the result.

Yes, technology has greatly advanced. So, now you can do all these procedures yourself and not turn to the services of cosmetologists and plastic surgeons?

No. I still recommend visiting a cosmetologist periodically. Express procedures and instant creams give results here and now if you need to be fully prepared for a date in the evening. But if we talk about fundamental skin health and beauty in general, then you cannot do without a cosmetologist.

At what age should a girl see a specialist?

You know, I have to regularly apply protective cream to my daughter’s face to protect her from the effects of frost and restore skin moisture. But my child is only five and a half years old! Then comes adolescence, during which many people experience pimples and acne. And after thirty, people periodically experience allergic reactions to various foods and medications. In general, every age has its pitfalls. But today's beauty industry makes it possible to effectively combat all these ailments without resorting to plastic surgery.

I host the program “Ten Years Younger,” in which, as the title suggests, we help women look better. And plastic surgeon Blokhin is involved in this process. He is firmly convinced that at a certain age, no cosmetology can replace a circular facelift.

I adore Blokhin and I think he is right. But he is right only in cases where there is already excess tissue on the face, which appears due to lack of proper self-care. Our generation may indeed need plastic surgery, as when we were young we did not have a wide range of cosmetic services and creams to choose from. But today's youth have this choice, and therefore they can easily avoid any need for plastic surgery.

You are a wife, mother and a wonderful entrepreneur who has created a corporation that includes many clinics, pharmacies and training centers. How did you manage to build such a business?

I did not set myself the task of building a dizzying career. I just love what I do, and recently I finally understood why I do it. When I get up in the morning now, I say to myself: “Lord, thank you for giving me a path on which I can realize myself as a person who has not lived my life in vain.”

Your words are inspiring! It's so wonderful that you have found your mission in life.

More likely, she found me. My ancestors were zemstvo doctors who treated people during the plague. So this mission was passed on to me genetically. And even though I myself am not a doctor, but an economist, I am still immersed in the medical profession. This is probably the reason for my success, because I do my work not for money, but for myself, because I see my purpose in this.

What are you striving for now?

I want to get medical tourism on its feet, because we have everything we need for this. Here you will find wonderful mud springs, mineral waters, and excellent technologies. I am a romantic in life, so I believe that even despite the sanctions, our country will soon become even greater and more attractive!

Soon after the birth of her second child, Anastasia returned to work at the mayor's office, where her colleagues speak of her with respect. Mrs. Rakova initiated many large projects - the creation of the MFC, the Moscow Urban Forum, the launch of the “Our City” and “Active Citizen” portals. The renovation program is partly in her area of responsibility. The wife of developer Pavel Tyo and mother of three children is not going to change the concept, fortunately the Moscow public is gradually getting used to “strange things and unusual images.” However, Ms. Karput is no longer interested in the avant-garde for the sake of the avant-garde, and especially for the sake of shockingness; now she professes a more mature and pragmatic view of fashion.

Alice believes that the main thing in work is to do well what you are passionate about, and not to chase millions at any cost. She keeps her son away from computers, closer to real people and paper books.

Olga Romanova

Celebrity makeup artist, creator and creative director of the cosmetics and false eyelashes brand Romanovamakeup, 33 years old

Olga is expanding the collection of decorative cosmetics bearing her name. The line of natural false eyelashes already includes 50 items. “Thanks to my art education, my makeup philosophy is based on the fundamentals of painting,” says Ms. Romanova, who is responsible for the makeup of many artists. Olga was a makeup artist for the “Get in Time in 24 Hours” program on STS, and now gives master classes. The girl started the business when she was pregnant with her daughter, calling it “an express course in self-development.”

Oksana Bondarenko

Owner and President of the Li-Lu Showroom Company, 44 years old

The company celebrated a year since the opening of the showroom at Trekhgornaya Manufactory. More than 20 years ago, working as a translator from Italian at an exhibition, Oksana did not think that her modest beginning would grow into thousands of square meters of European fashion from famous brands. She does not hesitate to admit that she took the initial capital from her husband Vladimir Tsyganov, the head of the Belaya Dacha agricultural complex, but the long-term success and reputation of the company is her merit. Mrs. Bondarenko herself prefers to wear clothes from her own brand, “Li-Lu,” and only indulges in extravagance at the sight of designer shoes.

Tatiana Lukovetskaya

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rolf Group of Companies, 51 years old

Tatyana headed the board of directors of one of the largest Russian car dealers. The numerical superiority of men in business and under her leadership does not bother Mrs. Lukovetskaya. She started her career as a “girl on the phone,” supervised mechanics, became the first woman in Russia to head a dealership, and heard all the jokes about “women driving” back then. There are no trifles in Tatyana’s favorite business - with one hand she rebuilds the company’s management system, with the other she personally campaigns to buy a car. She relieves work stress by singing and has released two albums of romances.

Ekaterina Dibrova’s beauty bachelorette party took place on the embankment of the Moscow River at the Lastochka restaurant.

The theme of the party was the iconic work "The Great Gatsby". Jazz sounded on the deck of the luxury ship, and all guests were greeted by the hostess of the event in 20s-style accessories.

President of the RHANA medical corporation Ekaterina Dibrova gathered her friends, successful businesswomen, to celebrate her birthday and talk about new secrets of beauty and health.

The ship's wardroom has been transformed into a beauty space. An official representative of the French factory Jean Niel helped guests create an individual perfume, a tarot reader answered questions, and the corner of the jewelry brand Roberto Bravo demonstrated its new jewelry items. Professional teachers of the GallaDance dance club also performed and gave a master class on the site. The evening was hosted by showman Alexander Belov.

“Girls, the main thing in a woman is her soul, it is a beautiful soul that is a powerful force of attraction!” said Ekaterina Dibrova, accepting congratulations from her friends. “This is a mirror that reflects the inner beauty of a person, and then the image becomes harmonious! The eyes shine from the inside with kindness, love and joy! Shine with your soul, my dears, and be happy!"

The celebration with enchanting dancing and fireworks straight from the Moscow River lasted until late in the evening.

One of the brightest moments of the holiday was the sudden appearance of Andrei Malakhov, friend and partner of Ekaterina Dibrova. Olga Kabo, Evelina Bledans, Anna Gorshkova, Anastasia Zadorina, Daria Mikhalkova, Alisa Tolkacheva, Alena Sviridova, Ekaterina Odintsova, Elena Teplitskaya, Evgenia Kim and many others also came to congratulate the birthday girl.
