Design and principle of operation of Master Gas boilers

Gas boilers Master Gas Seoul(Seoul) are represented by units with a wall-mounted installation method, a combustion chamber closed type. Designed to heat a house area of up to 350 meters; in addition to heating, they are also capable of providing hot service water, that is, they are double-circuit.

Thanks to good technical filling, it is possible to regulate with high precision temperature regime. Electricity consumption is 132 W per hour, they have small dimensions, so there will be no problems with placement. Due to the ability to operate on liquefied gas, it is possible to use it in areas where there is no central gas supply.

As for smoke removal, there is a choice, since it can be connected to both a stationary chimney and a coaxial one using an adapter. For ease of use, a remote control is provided with which you can remotely control the display, where current information is displayed.

Basic error codes

Let's look at the most frequently occurring errors of the Master Gas gas boiler, because like any device, it also sometimes malfunctions, despite its high reliability.

a3

Error a3 indicates a pump malfunction.

If your boiler shows an error like this, check the following:

Multimeter

And when it is turned on, the resistance in the closed sensor should be 0. If during testing you get a different value, change it.

a4

Error a4 signals that the thermal relay has tripped.

Do the following:

a5

Error a5. Occurs when there is insufficient pressure in the coolant, what to do when this happens?

Possible causes and troubleshooting tips:

a6

Error a6. Ignition related fault.

Possible reasons:

  • Check if the gas valve is open whether the pressure level is sufficient if you use liquefied gas. If no problem is found, contact your gas service.
  • Broken spark plug. Install a new one in its place.
  • Electrical fault spark plugs. Check her out.
  • Dirt has accumulated on the spark plug, clean and wipe it with alcohol.
  • The ionization spark plug has failed, replace. The connection in its chain of connections has been broken, restore it.
  • Burner clogged. Using a brush, remove dust from it and from the commutator. Using fine sandpaper, clean the spark plug electrodes.

ahh

Error aa. The coolant sensor has tripped.

  • Occurs when it overheats, all heating circuits may be blocked, check, if so, open them.
  • The filter is clogged in the heating circuit, clean it.
  • Pump fault, check it, wash or replace if necessary.
  • Three-way valve faulty, purchase and install a new one.
  • The flow water sensor is faulty, purchase and install a working one.

Other faults

The most common error codes are discussed above; let’s look at the malfunctions that also sometimes occur with the Master Gas boiler.

If the boiler does not start:

Popping noises are heard during operation:

  • Gas pressure is poorly adjusted, or low quality gas. Adjust it minimum value in accordance with the regulatory documents for your device.
  • Dirty burner. Clean the burner using a brush.

You can smell gas. This indicates a leak; immediately turn off the gas valve, open the windows and doors, and urgently call the gas service. Under no circumstances should you light any fire or turn on electricity, as this may lead to an explosion.

Little pressure of hot water or it does not flow at all:

The Korean mounted gas boiler Master Gas Seoul is a good and inexpensive alternative to German and Czech models. The equipment is fully adapted to operating conditions throughout the Russian Federation. Mounted boilers operate on natural and liquefied gas. They have a built-in programmer that makes it possible to program the operation of the boiler from one day to a week.

All about the manufacturer's mounted boilers

The wall-mounted double-circuit gas heating boiler Master Gas Seoul is distinguished by its compact size and thoughtful design. The equipment has the following technical characteristics:

Rostekhnadzor issued a permit to operate the boiler, valid for all modifications of Master Gas Seoul. As a result, equipment registration and production project documentation goes through without any problems.

What are the main features of the installation

To ensure normal operation of the boiler, certain installation requirements of the manufacturer must be met:

The first start-up of the station must be carried out in the presence of a representative of the company selling the boiler. He will check the correct installation and settings and put the boiler under warranty.

Advantages of the Master Gas Seoul brand

Korean equipment invariably pleases consumers with its quality, thoughtful functionality and cost. Just recently, Master Gas Seoul boiler models were certified by Rostechnadzor and received permission to operate.

The cost of the products is specially maintained in the middle price segment, despite the fact that the functionality of the models is more reminiscent of “premium” class equipment.

The rules for operating the boiler are quite simple to follow. Manufacturer adapted internal organization for work in the Russian Federation.

The basic package contains everything necessary for the operation of the equipment: built-in circulation pump, expansion tank, safety group and automation. After connecting to the heating system and installing a coaxial chimney for the boiler, you can immediately start it up.

Korean boiler or European?

It should be admitted that if just a few years ago this question could only be answered in favor of the European manufacturer, now, as sales reports show, more and more buyers are choosing Korean equipment. There are several reasons for this: Although boilers from Czech and German manufacturing companies still dominate in popularity, Korean products are gradually gaining ground. Therefore, we can expect a significant increase in sales in the near future.

Master Gas Seoul boilers are practically in no way inferior in functionality and ease of operation to products from leading manufacturers, but the main attractive quality for domestic consumers is their price.

Recently appeared on the market and quickly gained popularity, individual heating units“Master GAS Seoul” brand is a product of successful and fruitful cooperation between the Baltic Gas Company concern and DAESUNG CELTIC ENERSYS Co., Ltd from South Korea.

The series is represented by compact gas boilers with two circuits for wall mounting, of varying power, with a closed combustion chamber. The devices are designed to create individual heating systems and hot water supply in apartments or private houses with a small area, up to 350 square meters.

Master Gas gas boilers make it possible to effectively regulate heating intensity with high precision. The devices are equipped with separate heat exchangers for heating and hot water circuits.

Seoul gas heating boilers are attractive for their moderate appetite, they consume very little electricity, no more than 130 W/hour. The heaters are quite compact, so they can be installed in almost any, even fairly small space.

The entire series of boilers is equipped with a system automatic diagnostics, multi-stage safety system.

The undoubted advantage of Seoul devices is their ability to operate on liquefied gas. This is relevant for cottage or holiday villages that are not equipped with a centralized gas supply.

The developers have provided the possibility of installing a coaxial or conventional chimney using a universal adapter installation kit.

Individual Master Gas boilers are equipped with a remote control remote control with a digital display, which allows you to comfortably and conveniently control the operation of your home’s heating system. In addition, it is possible to connect to a “warm floor”.

Seoul gas boilers are manufactured in factories in South Korea and are fully adapted to Russian standards. They have the necessary quality certificates and comply with GOST standards.

The manufacturer provides a 2.5 year warranty on its products.

Here are the additional benefits:

  • forced removal of combustion products;
  • constant control of the burner flame height depending on the required heating temperature;
  • the ability to connect several remote controls to control the unit from different rooms;
  • monitoring and diagnostics of the boiler condition, error indication on the remote control;
  • stable operation when the pressure in the water and gas supply circuits decreases;
  • stable operation during power supply voltage surges of up to 30%, thanks to the built-in voltage stabilizer;
  • automatically adjustable pressurization circuit, providing optimal combustion air supply;
  • copper heat exchanger for the heating circuit to increase the heat transfer coefficient and increase the durability of the module;
  • a device for automatically blocking the gas supply in case of overheating of the coolant, burner extinguishment, power outage or chimney malfunction;
  • automatic pressure release in the heating system when permissible limits are exceeded.

Master Gas Seoul gas wall boilers are presented in models with digital indexes 11, 14, 16, 21, 30 and 35

They differ from each other in the power and area of heated premises. They have a built-in frost protection function. All boilers in this series are convection, double-circuit, flow type and are equipped with electronic ignition.

Master Gas Seoul 14 heats an area of up to 140 sq.m. Boiler power 14 kW, fuel consumption up to 1.99 m³/h

Master Gas Seoul 16 is designed for hot water supply and heating of an area of up to 160 sq.m. Generated power 16 kW gas consumption up to 2.11 m³/h

Master Seoul 21 is similar in function to its younger brothers, but more powerful - 21 kW with a gas consumption of 2.11 m³/h

More detailed characteristics are presented in the table below

The Master Gas Seoul gas boiler is in operation, and questions have arisen. I attached two thermometers next to the remote control and the readings on them coincided, but on the remote control. When the apartment is 22 degrees. on the remote control it is 24 degrees, and when the apartment is 24 degrees on the remote control it is already 27. How can this be fixed? Maybe someone knows how to get into the remote control menu with greater rights? Once in the menu, as described in the instructions, it is impossible to change the boiler power, however, like many other settings.

Settings in the remote control become available when you turn on switch block No. 3.

Malfunction of the gas boiler Master Gas Seoul 16. We have been using it for 2 months. There are already problems with ignition. The claps are sometimes so strong that it becomes scary.

Obviously the gas workers connected the gas, but did not adjust the pressure.

In general, there are a lot of problems with heating: a hum, periodically appearing white smoke (steam?) from the chimney, and, what is most unpleasant, a regular drop in pressure in the system. Water has to be added every ten days. There are no visible leaks, it can be blamed on the insufficiency of the built-in expansion tank (due to lack of funds, I hung up the existing Soviet-made steel panel radiators, so it is quite possible that the coolant volume is more than the recommended 50 liters), however, jumps into the red zone and discharges of extra pascals after this are not observed . I don’t want to admit it, but perhaps the only correct assumption, in my opinion, is a malfunction of the boiler heat exchanger (crack) due to which water constantly seeps into the combustion chamber, as a result of which the pressure in the system drops and white smoke comes out of the chimney. I will be very grateful to everyone who expresses their opinion.

One of the reasons is that the coaxial chimney is not installed correctly (no slope) and condensate enters the combustion chamber and, again, incorrect gas regulation.

A 140 kW Master Gas Seoul wall-mounted boiler is connected in a one-room apartment. The developer filled the heating system with plain water. I had no previous experience with this technology, so several questions arose. I want to fill the system with distilled water. After reading, I basically understood how to do this: using a pump, we pump cold water through the inlet fitting that fits into the device, open the make-up valve and wait until the coolant is pumped into the system and, accordingly, the required pressure appears. Then we shut off the whole thing simultaneously, bleed the air and start the boiler. Please correct me if I'm wrong. During operation, the water will still evaporate a little and the pressure will drop. To raise it, do I just need to open the feed tap and then the water from the main will replenish the system to the required pressure? According to those passport, unit
requires connecting the electrical part through a power stabilizer. I would like to hear opinions on this matter, whether this condition is critical. I understand that there is a microcircuit inside that is afraid of voltage surges, but still? I want to install a filter on the cold water line in front of the boiler. Please advise, at least which one to choose, maybe special filters are used here?

There are 20 liters of water in your heating system. And this will not cause problems if you do not add the same amount or more every day. Better check for leaks.

When the Seoul 14 gas boiler operates using an air temperature sensor, it turns out somehow crooked. The sensor is lying, and the error is not linear. The temperature in the room ranges from 22 to 24, and on the remote control it is 26 (the thermometer is next to the remote control, and away from the battery). During the pause, the batteries cool down completely, and from constant heating and cooling changes, smudges may appear on the winding. You have to adjust the system water temperature when working using the air sensor, and with this remote control, unlike the Navien, this is not convenient. In general, the temperature in the apartment is more stable, and the batteries are always hot when the boiler is operating according to the water temperature in CO, as long as there are no strong temperature changes outside. Ideally, it would be if the water temperature of the system was adjusted automatically based on the air temperature in the apartment! Here's how to do it?

Although theoretically, if you take a PID controller for an MEO with a resistance thermometer, connect it to the remote control buttons, a boiler based on the temperature in CO, it might work out. With a large integration coefficient, the controller will be more inert, waiting for a change in the signal from the sensor. You just need to think about a circuit that will duplicate the regulator output to remote control button, you need to press the remote control button twice.

Tell me, what kind of heating system tap is this and where can I turn it off? Because the water from the DHW circuit does not correspond to that set on the remote control (much colder, not even 60 degrees hot). Or has anyone encountered this?

The taps on the heating system are mounted in front of the boiler - on the supply and return. The water flow is too big. Gas pressure is low.

Set it to 11 kW. The pump makes noise and gets hot. The pump temperature is 2 times higher than that of the carrier. But the hand endures. This is fine? Pump A3 error occurred several times. Where to bleed air out of it? I can't find the plug. Or do I need to open the air vent? And How? Maybe it's running dry?

There is no plug, but the air vent can be opened.

A wall-mounted boiler is in operation Master gas Seoul 16. Tell me what to do: the pressure is on the verge of the minimum permissible (about 1 bar) when opening the make-up tap it does not increase or sometimes increases slightly (1.1 bar). What could be the reason? And it still buzzes very loudly. The pressure in the water supply is like 4.5 atmo, if that.

As for the first, maybe the make-up system is clogged, we need to look at what exactly, how the expansion tank behaves, and what exactly does the pressure gauge show? As for the second, if it hums, you need to find out that the pump is humming or the heat exchanger is clogged. Go to the remote control settings value P8 from 31 put 20 in the passport according to the table there is a typo. The buzzing will pass.

The Master Gas Seoul 16 boiler is malfunctioning, error AA constantly pops up, sometimes A4. It turns out that it starts to boil, and when it boils, the pressure gauge for heating goes off scale. The water pressure through the boiler is 2 times worse than cold water. What could it be?

If it boils, it means there is poor water flow, check the system or the Primary heat exchanger is clogged. And the fact that the pressure increases, then it will be so, since when it boils it increases, and look at the DHW heat exchanger.

A gas boiler is in operation, Boiler Seoul 14. Tell me what to do. According to the passport data for the boiler, the minimum water flow in the system to turn on the boiler in DHW mode is 2.5 l/min, and for me it turns on when the water flow is 6-7 l/min (I took measurements practically), in addition this also increases water consumption . The service people say that nothing can be done. Is not it?

Maybe the DHW flow sensor is jammed, if it is possible to disassemble it and check it, I think there shouldn’t be anything complicated there, or it could be defective.

I called a serviceman from Gorgaz. The problem was solved by adjusting the maximum pressure. However, with the recommended value of 55, I had to set it to 40, otherwise the hum would not go away. Again, it is not clear how this will affect the set and maintenance of the set temperature in winter. And it turns out that these models regularly, about once a year, damage the switching valve from heating to DHW.

The primary heat exchanger is clogged. Flushing is needed.

An MG Seoul 14 gas boiler with a closed heating system was installed and connected; I did not see how the antifreeze was poured. In general, after the time has elapsed while gas was being filled, the pressure has dropped and the boiler does not start, how can I increase the pressure?

Look, there must be a faucet, but in general you need to find out from the people who were involved in this, or at least be present at the first start-up, so that such questions would not arise later, but look - this must be the case, you will need a pump.

Malfunction of the gas boiler Master gas Seoul 21 with a water heater. In December it will be two years since it started working. It's broken 3 times already. Error A4. The heat exchanger was replaced for the first time. They said that it was clogged because someone opened some kind of tap there. And he installed it himself. In the spring, when the boiler gave the same error, another technician arrived, turned it on, adjusted the pressure, and the device started working on its own. Now this error is happening again. We also washed the previous heat exchanger in case of replacement. We have water filters at the entrance. Tell me, is this the norm, that in 1.5 years of service we have already repaired it 3 times?

The wall-mounted boiler is humming. Master gas, how to switch the control board to service mode, otherwise it doesn’t work from the remote control.

There are three microtoggle switches on the top of the board, move the top two to the opposite side and go to settings, then return it to its place.

Tell me what could be happening: on the third day, water is dripping heavily from the tube below and the pressure drops? Yes, and air appears in the first battery. Maybe the air vent is clogged? Can it be fixed or just replacement? Seoul-14 boiler, three months. Works intensively for a week (frost), works according to air temperature.

Hit the air vent with a screwdriver, it will close and there will be no dripping.

Tell me, the value for “setting the fan speed” (forced minimum combustion) in the L2 passport is 40. Today I compared all the parameters with the passport, L2 is set to 36. Should I leave it or set it as in the passport?

If the minimum gas pressure on the boiler burner decreases below that set by the manufacturer, gas consumption will increase!

Malfunction of the Master Gas Seoul 21 boiler. Installed in the spring, it worked fine, in the winter it began to hum strongly, and if you press the lid with your hand, the hum disappears a little. It turned off several times with error A6. However, when turned on again it worked fine. But there is a hum, I don’t even know what to do. By the way, could the hum be due to the fact that the heating pipes are PP 20? Also, tell me: what are the P8 settings for 16 kW?

In the passport - 20, in fact - 31.

The boiler filter (under the pressure gauge) has already broken off several times. Everything seems to be in order, the pressure in the CO is normal, and it doesn’t show any errors either. It heats normally, according to the settings, and the hot water is also fine. It was knocked out, screwed the filter back in, added water - everything was in order again. Last year, a friend had the same problems - he kept tearing it up until the control board flooded - they replaced it and everything got better. The device is already 3 years old - there have been no problems - only air was sometimes pumped into the expander. Tell me, please, what to do?

Does anyone know how to increase the boiler power? When I bought the boiler, the seller said that it was possible to make a boiler from the 16th to the 21st using a switch on the board. Is this possible? Do all models have the same board with controller? Maybe you can reflash the controller? Has anyone messed with the controller?

Can you tell me where the plug for air intake from the room is located?

On the top of the boiler, next to the coaxial, there are 3-4 screws.

Regarding the hum when igniting, it worked fine for a year, then it slowly began to appear. I called a technician, set it up, the hum decreased, but did not disappear at all. The chimney is installed correctly. A problem has arisen: error A3 began to appear, the boiler stops working, and the error occurs only at night, everything is fine during the day. I realized that the error was related to the pump. What could it be? The appearance of error A3 has become more frequent, it’s annoying,
because the boiler is switched off. Who can help solve the problem, has anyone encountered this error? Is this still a problem with the pump or fan? It's not clear in the instructions.

You need to adjust the minimum and maximum gas pressure, clean the fan. Jumper the contacts of the water pressure sensor and observe the device; if there is no error A3, it means that the microswitch on the sensor may simply be faulty, or something is wrong with your water pressure.

MG Seoul wall-mounted boiler in operation. The problem is that when the temperature was set to 65 degrees, ignition became poor, namely when it starts to buzz, then it tries to ignite several times, but not the first time, I wait 30 seconds, the burner starts to burn, everything is fine. After it turns off everything repeats. But when the temperature is set above 65 degrees, it works properly and lights up clearly. Same thing when I turn it on
hot water, I also wait for some time until ignition occurs. Tell me, what could it be?

Poor ignition - or ignition power - depends, among other things, on the minimum gas pressure on the burner, as well as the ionization electrode itself - its cleanliness and position in the combustion chamber. Clean the burner. Clean the fan. Check the network voltage. Check the pressure on the burner and adjust. Inspect and clean the surface of the heat exchanger. Maintenance generally needs to be done.

Master Gas Seoul boiler malfunction. Error A5 (low water pressure). According to the instructions, the working pressure is 1.5-2.0 bar. Minimum type 0.5. It worked well the first season, and since there was no water supply in the house, water was pumped from the public street water supply. (as soon as the pressure drops closer to 0.5 bar, pump it up). For the second season I connected it to a well (hard water) and by the end of the season problems began. As soon as the pressure drops closer to 1.3-1.4 bar, error A5 (restarting the boiler without adding water and it continues to work for a certain time). Maybe someone can tell me, I suspect that there is something with the pressure sensor. It can be turned off and the wires shorted (who knows how it works?). Or maybe the air vent has gone sour; before it was dripping droplets, but now it’s dry. Over the entire history of use, water pressure drops somehow quickly. I checked all the pipes and connections, but found no leaks. That is, in Lately I pump up the pressure from 1.5 to 2.0 every three days. And also, the pressure in an empty expansion tank should be 0.09 MPa, how much is it in bars.

1 bar - 1 kilogram approximately, the pressure sensor is on the tube, 2 wires, put a jumper between the wires, and ideally the sensor should be replaced or removed and washed thoroughly.

Boiler malfunction Master gas Seoul 14. Worked for 2 years 4 months with almost no complaints, the only thing was adding pressure regularly (it dropped constantly although there seemed to be no leaks), and about a week ago I switched it to DHW mode, worked for a bit and gave error A4, unplugged it , turned it on again - it worked. In the morning I turned on the hot water, again the boiler hummed loudly, the pressure gauge needle ran up and down and error A4, they said to clean it
you need heat exchangers (I’ve never done this, no matter where the instructions are, the procedure for how to do it all, and it’s not difficult to do it yourself), but when I turn it back on with the heating mode, everything works normally, why is that so?

Help me understand the operation of the Master Gas Seoul 14 boiler. The problem is that when the hot water is turned on, hot water goes into the heating system and runs out of the tap cold water. And the pressure drops regularly. The system does not run, I checked it several times. I thought about a three-way valve, but I read somewhere that it wasn’t the reason, but they didn’t say anything intelligible.

1. change the three-way valve.
2. pump air into the expansion tank.

The MG Seoul 14 gas boiler is in operation and hums when ignited. When it's cold the noise is stronger, when it's warm it's less. The walls of the boiler vibrate strongly during the hum; if you find a point on the wall and clamp it, the hum becomes an order of magnitude less. The fan is clean. There is a feeling that the hum directly depends on the amount of air flow. I assume that the reason is acoustic resonance. Adjusting the fan speed through the settings has only an indirect effect and does not eliminate the hum completely.

The hum may be caused by the flame pulling away from the burner. There are many micro-implosions that occur, which cause resonance at a certain frequency and produce a hum. Flame separation, in turn, occurs due to a mismatch between the gas supply (its pressure) and the air speed. I made a pressure gauge and adjusted the maximum and minimum according to the instructions. The operation of the boiler has changed. After ignition, the device gradually adds pressure to the cold one. At a certain moment a hum appears. The device immediately sharply reduces the pressure to a minimum and works on it for several minutes (there is no hum at this stage, sometimes there was before the adjustment). Then he starts adding pressure again little by little. Again, at a certain moment (the pressure is approaching 80% of the maximum according to the passport), a hum appears. Again it lowers the pressure a little, and then again slowly increases it, as if trying to approach the border where the hum occurs, but prevent its occurrence. It seems that the “brains” feel the hum and are trying to set the maximum possible pressure without causing a hum. But how do they feel? I don't see the sensor. Maybe the traction sensor. It would seem that the connection between pressure and hum is obvious. When a certain pressure is reached, a hum appears. But no, in heating and hot water mode there is almost no hum, although the pressure is almost twice as high as the pressure in heating mode, in which there is hum.

Water constantly drips from the air vent and pressure is released. There is a tap with a rubber ring. What is the normal position of this tap? It must be closed or open. And if it is open, then how to set the pressure release or the valve for replacement only? I'm not afraid to take apart small things, I knocked, tapped and patted with a screwdriver, it still flows. The pressure is normal, including in the expansion tank.

Remove the air vent, disassemble it and clean it. Somewhere there is a drift or deposits due to water do not allow the float to fit tightly.

Master Gas wall-mounted boiler in operation. The boiler works normally for heating, when I turn on the hot water, after 15-20 seconds a noise appears in the boiler (as if water is being sucked in), the flame in the boiler turns off for a few seconds. This is accompanied by a second jump in pressure upward (then returns back), the hot water, of course, also stops flowing. Then everything is fine, and after 15-20 seconds everything is the same, etc. I did it
maintenance, nothing has changed. The device has been in use for less than a year and a half, the heat exchanger was cleaned, the water was ordinary, the technician was there, he said it was hard. Now after the service there is no pressure jump or pop (at first, although there was one, yesterday I wanted to film this moment and still there is no pop, the pressure arrow just twitches a little and the flame goes out). The water coming out of the tap is hot for a short time, then immediately cold, then barely warm, then again a little
hot, continue in the same order. I noticed that when the flame goes out, the AA error pops up for a few seconds. That is, there is something wrong with the pump or damage to the three-way valve, following the instructions, because the filter is clean.

It looks like a DHW heat exchanger. Apparently it needs to be changed.

The Seoul 16 boiler is installed and connected, when the hot water supply is turned on, a cracking sound occurs in it, the pressure arrow jumps and error A4 is displayed. Need to replace the secondary or three-way valve heat exchanger? Hot water flows, but the boiler goes out and all error A4, that is, when the faucet is opened. water, a crash is heard from it, an arrow jumps and the boiler goes out, and it was still standing for a week in winter mode, no one touched it, and again there was an error on the floor? Temperature at
DHW was installed at 55.

This is overheating of the heat exchanger. In the secondary, scale prevents the normal transfer of heat from the heating circuit to the hot water supply, i.e. it does not heat up to 55, and the device regularly tries to complete the task and raises the temperature, which leads to overheating and the corresponding sensor is triggered, it turns off.
