Story

The Ufa State Academy of Arts named after Zagir Ismagilov was opened in 1968 on the basis of the educational and consulting center of the State Musical Pedagogical Institute named after. Gnesins (now the Russian Academy of Music named after Gnessins). The academy building is located in the ancient part of the city and is located in the building of the former noble assembly, built in the classicist style according to the design of the architect Gopius.

Initially, the institute organized two faculties - music and theater, and 5 multidisciplinary departments - piano and orchestral instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass), choral conducting and folk instruments, history, music theory and composition, directing and acting skills, humanities.

In 1969, the vocal department was opened, in 1978 - the department of wind and percussion instruments. In 1973, permission was received from the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR to open an art department.

The teaching staff was staffed by teachers and graduates of the capital universities of Russia - Moscow and Leningrad. The largest number of teachers came from the State Musical Pedagogical Institute named after. Gnesins. Leading teachers from the Ufa School of Arts were also involved.

The arts in Ufa began its work in 1968. At first there were only 2 faculties - music and theater. As development progressed, new divisions were created.
