Recipes for lavash rolls with different fillings (photo). The most delicious fillings for lavash: a selection of recipes

Sometimes thick wheat flatbreads are called lavash, but this is a mistake. Traditional Armenian lavash oval shape, measuring approximately 90 by 40 cm. By the way, lavash got its name from two Armenian words: “lav” - good and “khash” - food. It can be folded or rolled, using it as a “bag” for other products, since the thickness of real lavash does not exceed 3-4 mm.

From time immemorial, a recipe for an incredibly popular dish has come down to us, in which meat with various additives is placed in pita bread. Shawarma (or shawarma, as they say in St. Petersburg) as a “fast food” will be better than overseas fast food! However, these thin lavash flatbreads are good with barbecue, ham, sausages, and hearty meat salads. Lavash goes well with fish, cheeses, vegetables and herbs and can serve as the basis for a variety of dishes, many of which are prepared in a matter of seconds.

Filled pita bread can be seasoned with mayonnaise, sour cream, natural yogurt, or simply sprinkled with vegetable oil and lemon juice. Lavash with filling looks especially appetizing and impressive in combination with juicy greens, which not only pleases the eye, but also gives us a lot of positive taste emotions.

Lavash with filling is a universal dish that, even if it does not replace the entire meal, will become a beneficial addition to it. How to cook pita bread today - as a snack or main dish, is up to you. In any case, a few recommendations will come in handy:
  • If you make your own pita bread, keep in mind that it will cook very quickly. Therefore, roll out all the “pancakes” in advance and only then start frying;
  • Thin pita bread should not be greased with too much sauce - it can soften and tear;
  • To soak the rolls, they need to be left in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Envelopes, on the contrary, are served hot;
  • In order to properly wrap the pita bread, place the filling in the middle, connect the right and left side pita bread and roll it up, starting from the bottom edge.

Lavash itself is not very tasty, but if it is filled correctly, such a dish will add sophistication to any table. These lavash rolls can be prepared with different fillings, both for holidays and for every day. Thus, such a dish is available to everyone, because lavash is not expensive, and to fill it you can use the products that you have at home, you just need to combine them correctly, and then any housewife can boast of a tasty and unusual snack. Especially. that there are many recipes for such rolls. There are already so-called “classics”, but you can use your brain yourself and create something unusual, not like everyone else. And this will also be correct.

You can prepare rolls from such flatbread (we will use Armenian lavash) not only at home. This can easily be done at the dacha, in camping conditions; I myself have made lavash rolls more than once while fishing. While my comrades were preparing fish soup, I did it for the first time, and my friends were pleasantly surprised. This was a great appetizer. And I listened to the praise addressed to me with pleasure. Fishing then and the holiday was a success.

In this article you will find:

Let's start with the description various recipes, some of them are very simple, and some will require simply additional processing of the filling or an already prepared roll. But all this is not difficult and anyone can do it, just as they love to create culinary masterpieces.

Lavash dish with sausage and cheese - homemade recipe

You will need:

  • Processed cheese (hard)
  • Pita
  • Mayonnaise
  • Green onions, dill, parsley (if possible)
  • Sausage (boiled or smoked)
  • Tomatoes

There are no constant proportions here and for this reason I don’t indicate exactly by grams and pieces. To your taste and imagination.

Preparation:

The lavash sheet must be coated with mayonnaise; we grease the edges especially well so that they are not dry. We leave it to soak, but not for very long, so that the pita bread does not turn into mush, and in the meantime, cut the sausage (boiled is better in cubes, but smoked preferably in strips). Grind processed cheese on a coarse grater.

Divide the tomatoes in half and thinly slice each half. Chop the onion very finely (if you don’t have onions, you can use green ones and chop them finely too).

Meanwhile, the pita bread has already been soaked and you can put the filling on it. There are no rules in the sequence of what to put behind what. But I want to note that you shouldn’t overdo it and tamp it; the pita bread shouldn’t tear from the weight of the filling. You just need to sprinkle the prepared ingredients on the pita bread and wrap it in a roll.

It is advisable to carefully bend the roll so that it fits in the dish. Then place in the microwave at full power for 1.5 minutes.

Take it out and let it cool a little, cut it diagonally into slices, and serve; if you want, you can garnish it with a little herbs. Simple and delicious!

Fish roll. Lavash with crab sticks and canned food

You will need:

  • Pita
  • Crab sticks
  • Boiled egg (or two)
  • Hard cheese
  • Mayonnaise
  • Can of sardines

Preparation:

This dish is best made in the evening so that it has time to soak in. Grease a sheet of lavash with mayonnaise. Visually we divide the sheet into four strips, according to how to wrap it into a roll. and gradually, one by one, place the ingredients in strips, not laying them out over the entire surface. On the first (visual) strip we place the sardines, mashed with a fork, without oil or liquid from the can.

For the second, a boiled egg, which needs to be grated. On the third, three grated crab sticks, and on the fourth, three grated cheese.

You need to add a little salt on top, wrap it in a roll, put it on a large dish or tray, and put a bag on top, or wrap it in cling film, so that ready dish no unwanted objects (hair, flies, dust) got in. And also so that the pita bread does not dry out.

This snack needs to sit for at least 2 hours to soak in. After which the pita bread is cut and placed on a plate. For beauty, plates can be laid out in a circle green pea and corn (if available), as well as parsley leaves.

Sausage in pita bread with potatoes, baked in the oven

You will need:

  • Pita
  • Boiled potatoes (mashed)
  • Mustard
  • Sausages (preferably smoked)
  • Cheese (any, optional)

Preparation:

Mash the boiled potatoes with milk or salted water, adding a certain amount of ground pepper, to taste. On a coarse grater, grate cheese. Let's put this aside for now.

Fold the pita bread in half, take the sausage, apply it to the pancake and cut a strip in width, slightly longer than the sausage. Fold this strip once again. Use a knife to cut along the folded edges, you will get 3 - 4 rectangular sheets of pita bread.

We spread each leaf with a thin layer of potatoes, sprinkle with grated cheese, put in a sausage, grease it along its entire length with mustard and roll it into a tube.

Now you can do this: bake half of these prepared sausages in pita bread in the oven, and fry half in a frying pan (there will be plenty to choose from...)

Place the batch that we will bake on a baking sheet, brush with egg and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 15 - 18 minutes.

In the meantime, you can fry another batch in a frying pan, heat it up a little sunflower oil It doesn’t hurt to add our rolls and fry them on all sides until they are nice and golden brown.

In the oven, by this time everything will be ready. Place all the rolls on a large plate, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs and serve. You can offer mayonnaise and ketchup, or some kind of sauce. I’m sure you won’t have to blush for this kind of tape, it’s delicious.

Armenian lavash with chicken and melted cheese, fried in a pan

A roll with chicken and cheese turns out to be very nutritious, and if the chopped pieces are fried in a frying pan until golden brown, this dish can be served as a main dish. Here I’ll tell you about just such a large roll, which can easily feed four adults.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg. chicken thighs, breasts
  • 5 tbsp. spoons of sour cream
  • 300 gr. processed cheese
  • Any greens, to your taste
  • Salt, ground pepper
  • Armenian lavash – 3 sheets

We separate the boiled chicken meat from all kinds of bones, veins, and finely chop into small pieces. Now we need to mix all our products in one container (pan, basin...), this will be our filling.

We lay out one sheet of lavash on the table and place our prepared mixture in a thin layer over the entire surface of the lavash. Cover with a second sheet and again spread the filling all over the sheet. Cover with a third sheet of lavash. Now you need to roll everything into a big roll. It will turn out to be quite thick, like a sausage.

Cut the roll into pieces, 3-4 centimeters thick, and place on a plate. If you let the dish sit for a while, it will become saturated and you can easily run away on both cheeks and so on.

But we want to make a decent dish, and therefore, we will be patient and, with the last of our strength, fry all the pieces of the roll in a frying pan, adding a lot of sunflower oil to it.

Believe me, it's worth it. Once you serve the lavash rolls hot, you will be surprised how quickly they disappear, because they are truly delicious.

Budget-friendly lavash roll with simple filling

I was thinking, it’s not always possible to prepare dishes using products that you have to go buy specifically. And maybe some student is sitting in a dorm, wants to eat, and even a girl should come (well, to improve in some subject...) and in order not to look like a sucker at all, produce the right impression, you can prepare a simple, but respectable, budget pita roll.

In the common refrigerator there was:

  • Armenian lavash
  • Processed cheese
  • Boiled-smoked sausage
  • Pickled cucumber

Quickly prepare:

Cut the sausage and pickled cucumbers beautifully into long slices. It's faster, but the effect is guaranteed.

We take the pita bread itself, open it on the table and carefully coat the entire surface of the pancake with melted cheese. And then came the most creative work. Lay out the slices of sausage, alternately, in strips, then the cucumbers, and so alternating, distribute throughout the pita bread. It turns out like this “oil painting”.

Now all that remains is to wrap this canvas in a roll.

We now have an almost finished product. Well, you won’t serve such a pipe to a lady (you might scare it away...), so we cut it beautifully into small pieces.

What we get is practically a culinary work of art. The reaction of the expected lady can be assumed...

This is how easy it is to surprise and deliciously feed your expected (and not so...) guests.

All this was presented, mostly quite simple recipes lavash dishes. But there are holidays in life, and you want to celebrate them beautifully and tasty. I present...

Festive lavash roll with red fish step by step recipe

This will be a rather spicy, aristocratic recipe, good food. Use any red fish according to your taste and, of course, your wallet.

You will need:

  • Red fish - 250 grams.
  • Processed cream cheese - 200 grams.
  • Ginger - for sale
  • Half a lemon.
  • Fresh dill - a small bunch.
  • Ground black pepper.

Let's start cooking:

Let's start with dill, this is the best seasoning for red fish, the combination of flavors is amazing, Parsley, cilantro, basil - everything is different, dill is considered a classic of this genre. So, finely chop it, place it in a bowl and mix with melted cheese (add ground pepper...).

Squeeze a whole tablespoon of juice from the lemon, add it to a bowl with cheese and dill and mix everything thoroughly until smooth. Lemon, of course, is also very friendly with red fish and its presence will give the roll a piquant taste.

Cut the fish into thin strips.

Unroll the lavash sheet and spread it on the table. Coat the surface of the pancake with the prepared mixture of cheese, dill and lemon. We begin to lay out the fish, leaving a small space on top unfilled so that when twisting it sticks well.

Add ginger, you don’t need to put a lot of it. Our roll goes the same way as with red fish, and accordingly there is no need to overwhelm its taste. But, of course, basil will add its own “zest” (it turned out somehow funny, basil will add zest... but you get the idea).

You can roll the roll. If you have time, let it soak in the cold for a while, wrapped in cling film.

If time is pressing and guests are about to arrive, feel free to cut the lavash roll with red fish into pieces and celebrate the holiday.

So, if you are planning a “Sabantuy”, or maybe some romantic date at home, feel free to start preparing this dish. Everything will go great, with a bang!
