Storage water heater Polaris 50 liters instructions. How to use a water heater correctly: operating instructions for flow-through and storage units

If there is a need to purchase a high-quality water heater for your home or cottage, then you should pay attention to models from Polaris. This company presents a wide range of devices, among which you can easily choose the right option.

Specifications

Devices of this brand are available with different but convenient controls. Some models are equipped with mechanical controls, while others are electronic and even feature a display that displays all the necessary information.

Also, among the technical characteristics of a particular model, it is worth paying attention to the presence of a thermostat and power levels.

It is worth noting that all Polaris models have reliable protection, which guarantees uninterrupted and durable operation of the water heater. All devices must have overheating protection and automatic shutdown. That is, if the device gets very hot, operation will stop automatically, preventing the water heater from deteriorating.

The magnesium anode prevents corrosion of the internal walls of the tank, making it last much longer.

In addition, models of this brand are produced with a dry heating element, which is very reliable. The fact is that the heating element of the device is under reliable protection, is located in a sealed flask and does not come into direct contact with water.

Advantages and disadvantages

Each boiler model from Polaris has many advantages, which are worth talking about in more detail.

  • The devices of this company are reliable, economical, durable and have the most positive reviews. Each of them is equipped with convenient and intuitive controls. In addition, the quite budget price of the models is also their significant advantage.
  • Devices from Polaris are highly powerful, allowing you to get hot water in a matter of minutes. The assortment regarding the volume of tanks is also pleasantly pleasing. You can choose any volume that suits your family.
  • Many consumers are attracted by the fact that devices from this brand are fully equipped. That is, you don’t have to buy additional wires, a shower, etc., everything is already included in the kit.
  • In addition, the advantages include the original and stylish design of the devices, thanks to which they look very aesthetically pleasing in any interior, perfectly harmonizing with other modern appliances.

Despite all the advantages, water heaters from Polaris still have some disadvantages.

Consumers who already use devices from this brand note that some models are too bulky and heavy. Of course, this is a minus, especially if the house has thin walls. It is worth considering this fact during installation. If you are not confident in the reliability of the walls, then you will need to take care of additional security and fastening systems.

In addition, among the disadvantages, consumers note high price for some models. Therefore, before shelling out a large amount for a particular model, you need to find out what its advantage is over more budget options.

More budget options, as a rule, are distinguished by a tank with thin walls, which, of course, is a disadvantage. Such models will not last too long and there is a risk that the device will soon begin to leak. Check all the details before purchasing and be sure to purchase a model with a guarantee.

Flow models often have the disadvantage of serving only one point. This is not very convenient, especially if hot water is needed both in the bathroom and in the kitchen. In addition, such models can work properly and uninterruptedly if there is good water pressure in the house. Otherwise, there will be interruptions in work.

Kinds

Polaris water heaters come in different types and sizes. There is a instantaneous water heater, and there is a storage one. The volume of tanks also varies. It can be 10, 30, 50, 80, 100 liters and even 150.

Storage water heaters from this company are available in volumes from 10 to 150 liters. As a rule, such models can withstand pressure up to eight atmospheres. The design of such devices also has its own distinctive features. For example, storage models can be easily connected to a regular outlet, which is very practical.

Many storage models from Polaris have the ability to connect to several points at once, which allows you to install one water heater in the house for all water intakes.

As for the time it takes to heat up, it all depends on the model and volume of the tank. Typically, the first heating after installing the water heater takes at least half an hour. Afterwards, the heating element will turn on when the water temperature drops. This way, there will always be hot water in your home's tap. This heating method also helps save energy.

In addition, storage tanks are equipped with high-quality heating elements and have excellent thermal insulation, thanks to which they heat water as quickly as possible and for a long time keep it hot.

When choosing a storage model, it is worth considering the fact that you need a separate place for its installation. If you need a water heater only for washing or washing dishes, then a tank with a volume of 10-15 liters is the best option. For regular showering, the volume should be at least 30 liters, on average 50. And for those who are used to taking baths frequently, it is worth purchasing boilers with a volume of 80 liters and above.

Another type of water heater is instantaneous. Its main difference is that it is capable of heating water to desired temperature. Cold water, before entering the tap, passes through the heating element and, immediately heating up, pours out of the shower or tap.

Flow models are divided into two types: pressure and non-pressure. The first option is in great demand. Such models are mounted in the risers themselves, which saves space in any room. Their only disadvantage is that they cost much more than non-pressure ones.

Instantaneous water heaters, as a rule, are distinguished by their compactness. Most often they are installed in the kitchen.

Range overview

All models from this company attract attention with their design at first glance. For example, there are flat models that look great in the interior, becoming its bright detail. You can also choose a compact option, for example, with a volume of 15-20 liters.

  • Series models "Gamma" are in great demand among modern consumers, and there are reasons for this. The tank of such devices is made of stainless steel, the body is made in a laconic design. The heating element is also made of stainless steel. The controls of such devices are very practical - mechanical. In addition, the boilers are reliably protected from corrosion. Models in this series are considered one of the most durable and durable.

  • Series "Vega" also available in models of various sizes. All devices are equipped with stainless steel tanks and powerful heating elements. Among the additional functions, it is worth noting the fast heating function, which allows you to get the desired amount as quickly as possible. hot water. It is easy to operate such devices, especially since they are equipped with a modern digital display that displays all the necessary information.
  • "Aqua"- another popular series of storage boilers from Polaris. The tank is also made of high-quality stainless steel, but the heating element in this series is copper. All devices, regardless of volume, are equipped with electronic control, special improved thermal insulation and powerful protection from overheating and various types of leaks.

  • Series of storage water heaters "Omega" has all the qualities mentioned above. Separately, it is worth noting that the models are equipped modern management and an LED display, making settings much more convenient. All water heaters are equipped with a magnesium anode, reliable protection against overheating and are characterized by high thermal insulation.
  • As for flow devices, pay attention to the series "Orion". Models in this series are equipped with a copper heating element, thanks to which the water heats up efficiently and quickly. The set includes a convenient shower head.
  • "Mercury"– another compact instantaneous water heater. The heating element of the device is quartz. The model is equipped with a special indicator, so you can know whether the water is hot enough. In addition, with this model you can easily choose the heating temperature yourself. A shower head is also included.

Trouble-shooting

It often happens that due to prolonged or improper use, the boiler fails. Accordingly, the device requires repair. Before calling a specialist, it is worth determining the cause of the problem, because often many problems can be fixed with your own hands. But someone can safely remove the control panel, disassemble the device and fix the problem, while others don’t even know how to replace a digital temperature indicator.

Typically, water heater owners face the following problems:

  • the appliance has stopped heating water or is not heating it well;
  • the tank is leaking;
  • water does not flow well into the tank;
  • There was a strange sound during operation.

Operating instructions are included with each device. As a rule, the most common problems are listed there, which can be easily solved by following step-by-step instructions.

Installation of the device is carried out by the buyer at his own expense.

The manufacturer is not responsible for problems caused by improper installation and neglect of the recommendations of this manual, namely:

a) The electrical connection must be made in accordance with the rules in section “3.3.2 Electrical connection”.

b) The safety valve included in the delivery must not be plugged or replaced.

To reduce heat loss along the length of the pipes, the device should be installed as close as possible to the place of hot water consumption. To facilitate maintenance of the device, leave space for free access to electrical parts (approximately 0.5 m). In addition, it is recommended to install the water heater at a distance of 20-25 cm from the ceiling and adjacent walls.

3.1. Installation Requirements

§ Despite the fact that the device has good protection against current leakage, we recommend installing a protective regulator on the power circuit (RCD) and ensuring reliable grounding.

Electricity sources rated at 220 volts and 50 Hz are used.

§ The rated current values for the protective regulator on the power circuit must not be less values current for the water heater.

§ Keep the safety regulator on the power circuit clean to prevent current leakage.

§ A safety valve must be installed on the cold water receiver filler hole.

§ The drain tube installed on the pressure relief valve must face down and be free.

§ The wall to which the heater is attached must be strong. If the wall cannot support the double weight of the heater tank filled with water, the user must install a support under the bottom of the heater.

§ A water drain must be provided at the place where the heater is mounted.

3.2 Mounting method

1. Select a suitable location to install the water heater. In accordance with the markings presented in Figure 1, using a drill with a diameter of 12 mm, drill four holes in the main wall on the same line.

2. Insert the dowels into the holes and secure the bracket to the wall using self-tapping screws. (When installing the water heater in a wall recess, use the dimensions shown in the diagram on page 5).

3. Hang the water heater, securing it to the brackets. Make sure the screws are tight and the water heater is securely fastened.

4. The heater must be mounted in dry, dark places; in order to avoid heat loss, the heater must be mounted in a place located as close as possible to the water supply.

3.3 Preparation and connection

3.3.1 Connection to the water supply system :

1. Hoses and connections connected to the water heater must withstand operating pressure up to 6 bar and temperature up to +80°C.

2. With a standard connection, the water heater operates under pressure determined by the pressure in the line.

The water heater inlet pipe is connected to the water supply system through the safety valve included in the delivery set.

To avoid damage, do not use too much force when screwing in the safety valve.

The safety valve has two functions:

Allows water to flow in one direction only

(is a check valve).

At pressures above 6 bar, the water bleeds out through a hole on the side.

(calibrated at 6 bar).

The appearance of water droplets from the safety valve opening during water heating is a natural process and is associated with the expansion of water in the tank when heated. We recommend connecting the valve hole with a flexible outlet tube to the drain system.

Under no circumstances should the valve opening be closed!

If the water pressure in the main exceeds 5 bar (atmospheres), a pressure reducer should be installed after the water meter.

3.3.2 Electrical connection.

1. Reliable grounding must be provided.

2. Use energy sources with a voltage of 220 volts and 50 Hz

3. To connect the water heater to the electrical network, use a two-pole switch (preferably an automatic switch) with a distance between contacts of at least 3 mm.

4. A residual current device (RCD) should be installed in the power supply circuit. Seek advice from a qualified professional.

Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the value indicated on the marking plate (nameplate).

Usage

Immediately before turning on, fill the water heater with water. To fill the water heater with water, it is necessary to open the common valve of the water supply network and the hot water use valve. The appliance is completely filled with water when it flows out of the hot water tap at full capacity.

Attention! Only when the device is completely filled with water can the heating element be connected to the electrical network.

After filling the water heater, close the hot water tap, inspect the unit and make sure it is not leaking. Plug in the water heater.

1. Turn on the temperature controller control buttons:

temperature adjustment" (left) and the "on - off" button (right)

The "temperature adjustment" button is used to control and set the temperature.

The "on - off" button is used to start and stop the heater.

b) Digital display (two-digit, eight-position): used to display temperature adjustment and its actual values (00 - 99), issue warning signals (E2-E4)

c) Standby mode: the heater is on, but no heating is produced. The gauge displays the current water temperature reading.

d) Switching on mode: switching on is done by pressing the “on” button, the display shows the value of the previously set temperature (if the temperature is not set, then the display shows the initial temperature of 750C). If after 5 seconds no adjustments are made to the water temperature, the display will set the water heating temperature and begin heating / maintaining the set temperature.

If the water temperature is lower than the set temperature, the heater continues to operate.

If the water temperature is higher than the set one, the heater stops working and the system goes into mode maintaining the set temperature.

When the mode of maintaining the set temperature is turned on, when the temperature drops by 50C, the heater turns on.

e) Mode of maintaining the set temperature: the heater is on, press the “temperature adjustment” button, the display will show the previously set temperature, by pressing the button go to the operating mode, the set value will light up on the display, then with each press of the button the temperature value will increase by 50C . The sequence of temperature changes is as follows:

35→ 40→ 45 → 50 → 55 → 60 → 65 → 70 → 75→ 35

If you stop pressing the button within 5 seconds after stopping adjustments, the value is set and returned to the initial position.

f) When you press the “on-off” button again, the heater goes into standby mode and displays the water temperature value on the display.

2. Overheat protection:

If, while the heater is on, it stops working and goes into protection mode, then it further work possible only after the fault has been eliminated.

a) insufficient water level: if during checks the temperature in the heater increases by more than 20 C in 4 seconds during 7 consecutive starts, check the water level in the heater. In this case, the “E2” mark appears on the display screen. If it appears, you must disconnect the heater from the power supply and recheck after filling.

b) temperature sensor malfunction: when the temperature sensor is short-circuited, the “E3” mark appears on the display screen.

c) malfunction of temperature readings: if during control the temperature exceeds 900 C, then the “E4” mark will appear on the display screen. Turn off the power and check. If the safety device switches on due to overheating, then automatic start cannot be produced. Repairs must be carried out in a specialized workshop.

3. When the water pressure is less than 6 bar, the safety valve may leak. This is normal.

4. If you do not use the heater for a long time, close the cold water supply valve and disconnect the device from the electrical network.

5. Points that require attention

1. When using the heater for the first time, complete removal water from the tank and removing sediment, make sure that the device is filled with water and only then plug it into the network.

2. If the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced with a special cord or kit obtained from the manufacturer or its agent.

3. In winter and cold areas, when the heater is not used for a long time, drain the water from the heater. To do this: close the cold water supply valve, open the drain valve on the safety valve and open the hot water tap on the mixer, then drain the water.

4. Do not use plastic or aluminum hoses as supply pipes.

5. This electric water heater requires a safe and reliable grounding.

6. A safety valve must be installed on the electric heater fill tube.

7. The heater fill and drain holes cannot be closed at the same time.

8. The external cross-section of the water heater electric cable must be at least 2.5 mm2, and the protective current leakage regulator must be designed for a current strength of at least 25 A.

9. This type of electric heater is equipped with electrical cables that do not have connectors, so when connecting to power supplies, use switches that provide reliable interruption (for example, switches or circuit breakers, the interruption point distance must be at least 3 mm).

6. Service

During operation, clean the heater once every six months.

Sequence of actions: disconnect the water heater from the network, turn off the water tap, open the drain valve by turning the handle, open the drain hole (be careful not to get scalded) and drain the dirt.

If there is severe scale formation in the heating tubes or a large amount of sediment, remove the heating tubes and clean them. When reinstalling them, observe the following steps: the bolts should be tightened evenly, without significant force, and the fixing support should not be tilted. The power supply can only be connected after the product has been filled with water. If the heater is not used for a long time, turn off the cold water supply tap and disconnect the water heater from the power supply. If the water pressure exceeds 6 bar, drops of water may appear at the drain hole of the safety valve or a leak may occur.

a) A rare appearance of water drops on the drain hole of the safety valve means normal operation of the heater. To prevent water droplets from appearing on the safety valve drain hole for a longer period of time, keep the cold water inlet valve open.

b) Frequent drops of water appearing on the drain hole of the safety valve means that the water pressure is higher than normal. In this case, it is necessary to install a pressure relief valve on the cold water supply pipes, which should be located at the maximum distance from the heater.

c) To drain the resulting drops of water, a drain tube can be used, the end of which should be directed downwards and not be closed.

d) The approximate service life of the magnesium anode is 1 year, after which it is recommended that it be replaced by specialists service center.

Large-sized equipment and compact devices for heating water are actively involved in creating comfortable conditions. Few city dwellers know how to use a water heater, because... their apartments are connected to a centralized hot water supply. However, if you have to live in a Khrushchev building or in a dacha, information about the operation of complex units will be extremely useful, don’t you agree?

With us you will receive informed answers to all questions that arise when using the devices. In the article we have proposed, the topic of water heaters is discussed in detail, their types and design features are indicated.

The specifics of installation and rules for proper operation are described in detail. Designated technological subtleties and nuances of care. To make it easier to understand, the information is supplemented with photos, diagrams and video tutorials.

Flow-through models heat the water coming from the water pipe immediately after opening the tap. Visually, such models are significantly smaller in size and are mounted next to the crane.

A type of instantaneous water heaters is a special tap. It does not require a lot of electricity and can be a real godsend for the garden

Depending on the fuel consumed, storage and flow devices most often include:

The first ones have a higher initial cost, but pay for themselves after 2 years. The latter are initially 2-3 times cheaper, but due to the high cost of electricity, already in the third year of use they are more expensive for their owner.

This dependence is valid with constant use.

Flow-through heater models can be equipped with a kitchen spout and shower head. They are mounted next to the faucet to avoid large heat losses

If we're talking about about seasonal stay at the dacha and the use of small volumes warm water, then the electric option will come in handy for a potential buyer.

After all, electricity is supplied to many summer cottages, and as for gas, the situation with its availability may be worse. And if you rarely use the device, it will consume very little electricity.

Regardless of the type of water heating device purchased, you must handle it carefully and use it for its intended purpose. Moreover, the operating features of all similar models are similar, but there are also fundamental differences.

To avoid harming an expensive device through ignorance, it is better to read the instructions on how to properly use a specific water heater model.

Subtleties of operating flow-through units

Differences in appearance and the design of flow-through and storage models cause some nuances during operation.

Therefore, before starting to use the unit, it is important to carefully study the recommendations specified by the manufacturer.

A flow-through tap water heater can be used not only in the country, but also in a city apartment. It is easy to install and connect yourself

The most common requirements that must be met before operating storage and flow-through models are as follows:

  • installation of a coarse filter;
  • strictly horizontal installation;
  • grounding for electrical appliances.

The horizontal position is checked by the building level. Strict adherence to this rule will help prevent the formation of air locks.

It is also important to consider that there are models that can only be installed horizontally or only vertically. If you neglect this rule, the equipment will, at best, not work, and at worst, it will simply burn out.

Small models of vertical flow electric heaters can easily fit into the kitchen design. And a 10-liter device won’t take up much space.

There are also models that provide a user-selectable mounting option - horizontal or vertical. Design features The devices are designed for any position and this will not affect further operation in any way.

Instantaneous water heaters are produced by many domestic companies. Also on the market you can find a large number of offers from European and Chinese companies.

Storage water heaters come in both horizontal and vertical types. Moreover, this rule applies not only to small-volume boilers

Many manufacturers offer storage models that require gas or electricity to operate.

The first option, when constantly used by a family of 5 people for 4-5 years, will cost 3-4 times less than the electric option in terms of the total cost of purchasing, connecting and paying for gas. Although, the cost of the unit itself in stores is about 2.5-3 times cheaper than a gas appliance.

You can only operate a boiler that is correctly installed and connected to the power supply network. The specialist who carried out all the work is obliged to put a note about this in the warranty card and test the quality of installation of the equipment.

Without his signature and seal of the organization, in the event of a breakdown, the guarantee cannot be used.

If everything is installed by a responsible technician, then the owner can begin to operate the water heater. First, you need to inspect the equipment from all sides and make sure that everything is intact, there is no visible damage, the wire and plug have not melted anywhere and nothing is leaking.

If the visual inspection was successful, you need to fill the boiler or make sure that it is full. To do this, open the water supply valve to the unit and unscrew the hot water tap. As soon as water starts flowing from the tap, the storage heater is full.

Now you can plug the device into the socket and press the “on”/“on” button on the case. Control and adjustment are carried out using the corresponding buttons.

Depending on the equipment model, control and setting of the desired temperature can be carried out mechanically or by entering the appropriate commands on the monitor.

The technical perfection of the device directly affects its cost. In everyday life, models with the most necessary functions and simple controls are most often purchased. The simpler it is, the fewer breakdowns in the future.

You may find the information about self-help, discussed in our other article, useful.

In practice, electronically controlled water heaters do not tolerate installation in a bathroom. It is advisable to avoid installation in a room with increased level humidity

When operating, it is important to follow all the rules described by the manufacturer in the instructions for a specific device. Also, never turn on a broken heater.

If the external condition causes concern or traces of melting are visible on the wiring or plug and socket, you should definitely contact a specialist.

If the storage unit is the main source of hot water in the house/apartment, then, in order to save money, you should not unplug it.

Thanks to the installed thermostat, the device will turn on to heat water only when necessary. As soon as the water reaches the desired temperature, it will automatically turn off.

This work allows you to use electricity or gas as economically as possible if it is a gas water heater. It is advisable to turn off the equipment only in case of a long absence of the owner and all residents of the house, cottage or apartment.

The Polaris trademark has existed on the technical market since 1992. Today the company occupies a niche of international manufacturers household appliances, since it has production units in four countries. The range of branded products includes a variety of household equipment, including the Polaris water heater.

Several historical factors

The name of the Polaris brand comes from the name of the North Star. The concern was formed in 1992, in the month of October. It was then that a small group of graduates of the Moscow Aviation Institute decided to open private company for the production of televisions. The first models equipped with remote controls were produced on Philips lines. But in 2003, the first own production factory, which is located in the Kaliningrad region, went into operation.

The company regularly found new manufacturers of household equipment to establish partnerships. In this way, it could significantly expand its product range. More than 700 types of equipment are produced under this brand, for example:

  • Polaris boilers;
  • electric grills;
  • meat grinders;
  • vacuum cleaners;
  • air conditioners;
  • radiators;
