While the media are discussing the upcoming celebration of the athlete, her family is experiencing a tragedy

While the media is discussing the upcoming celebration of the athlete, her family is experiencing a tragedy.

As Rita Mamun’s mentor said, the girl’s father died two days after the gymnast returned from Rio. Her coach Amina Zaripova reported this in an interview with EG.RU. “Two days after Rita returned from Rio de Janeiro to Moscow, her dad died. We did not advertise this tragedy, but now we can already say. He was seriously ill for a long time. Met my daughter after returning from Rio, held her in my arms gold medal, burst into tears, and two days later he was gone. Probably God gave him strength to see his daughter’s Olympic triumph. At least on TV. Rita won for her dad,” Zaripova commented.

Rita’s teacher also notes that the athlete has a very intelligent family and once again condoles the tragedy that happened.

“In this family it is not customary to raise your voice. The first time I called my student, it seemed to me that I woke her up - Rita spoke so quietly. Fortunately, she doesn't have to repeat anything twice - she grasps everything right away. But Rita often lacked the sporting anger that is so necessary for victory,” admitted coach Mamun.
Let us remember that Rita competed for our country at summer olympics in Rio.

She won the individual all-around in rhythmic gymnastics. On the eve of the competition, the girl felt terrible. She entered the carpet with a temperature of 39, but despite her condition, she achieved her goal and deserved the highest award.

Coach of Olympic champion Margarita Mamun Amina Zaripova in an interview "Moscow-Baku" shared her impressions of her gymnast’s victory at Olympic Games ah in Rio de Janeiro, confessed her love for coaching and said that she wanted to come to Baku with her husband to play golf.

Amina, your athlete Margarita Mamun won gold at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In sports, nothing can be higher than the title of Olympic champion. What future goals do you see for Rita and yourself?

- Rita was faced with the task of winning the Olympics, and she completed it. Now I have little gymnasts with whom I work a lot, preparing the new generation.

- How did you feel at that moment when Margarita was on the carpet?

- There was a feeling that I was performing with her. It was scary, but only at that moment when she walked to the platform. And when the music started playing and Rita began to do the exercises, all fears were forgotten and disappeared somewhere.

She had to perform as well as possible and did it! We prepared long and hard for these competitions, we went through a lot. In her victory there is one very important point- Margarita dedicated the performance to her father, who at that moment was very seriously ill. She gave him strength, he had to see her win. After the Olympics, a tragedy occurred in Rita’s family - her dad died... (Margarita Mamun’s father, Abdullah Al Mamun, was a citizen of Bangladesh - editor's note).

It was necessary to get the athlete out of a difficult mental state, so we decided to go to a competition in Japan, which we had not planned. Rita performed there, and is now on vacation in America.

- Did you manage to rest after the Olympics?

My husband and I (Amina Zaripova’s husband is a famous musician, actor and TV presenter Alexey Kortnev) approx. edit) gathered the children in an armful, boarded a plane and spent four days together in the Austrian Alps wonderful day. Not enough, of course, but they were ours!

- You come from Uzbekistan, do you often come to your homeland?

- Unfortunately, very rarely. Last time– two years ago I was there at a competition. I haven’t taken my children there yet. But this is my old dream, to show them my native places.

-Have you ever been to Azerbaijan?

- Yes, I came this year. I really loved this country! Baku has become a modern world metropolis. There is so beautiful! I wanted to take my husband there in October for his birthday. But they told me that at this time they blow strong winds, and we play golf, and this can cause problems with the game. My plans still include coming to Baku to play golf ( Smiling).

- Azerbaijani gymnastics began to be developed by Irina Aleksandrovna Viner in close collaboration with the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva. I remember the performances of Aliya Garayeva; in certain events she was the World and European Champion. I remember Dinara Gimatova well. Now a Bulgarian coach is working with the Azerbaijani national team.

- I would send my daughter to study rhythmic gymnastics? (Aksinya, daughter of Amina Zaripova, 5 years old - approx. edit)

She refused. She said that when mom is in the gym, she will study, but without me she doesn’t want to.

What qualities, besides physical data, are important to succeed in your sport? Is it possible to immediately determine the future champion?

- In addition to the data, it is important how the child reacts to the coach’s comments and how efficient he is. It is impossible to say right away whether the girl will be successful in rhythmic gymnastics. We play high-level sports, and there are injuries that are incompatible with high-level sports. Nothing can be predicted in advance.

- If not coaching, then what profession would you see yourself in?

- You know, many people note my good organizational skills. I would probably borrow some leadership position. (Smiling). In general, before becoming a coach, I did a lot of things: I tried to be a journalist on NTV, a salesman, and opened restaurants. As a result, I realized that I only get pleasure from rhythmic gymnastics.

How does the gymnastics of your youth differ from modern gymnastics? The elements have become more complex, there is more competition, and what else?

We didn’t have those chic swimsuits that girls wear on the carpet now. The site was smaller. Not to mention the apparatus that gymnasts work with. There was no platform; they performed on the floor with a carpet on it. And now in many countries around the world children train on platforms.

- How often do you see your boyfriend? former coach Irina Alexandrovna Viner?

I'm just on my way to see her. Now we are working with Irina Alexandrovna in the same room. Looking at her, I understand that a great woman is sitting in front of me. She is a rather tough and straightforward person. If she loves, then this feeling is so strong that you can die from it, but when she screams, you can also die. ( Smiling). She is great and brilliant. What she can see, God forbid, I can see half of it.

Thanks to her efforts, Russia in rhythmic gymnastics has reached the level that we have now. Through her efforts, rhythmic gymnastics remained an Olympic sport in the Olympic family.

When we performed at the Olympics in Rio, the attendance record was broken. Artistic gymnastics in South America very popular, but during the athletes’ performances the stands remained half empty, and at rhythmic gymnastics competitions people sat “from floor to ceiling.” The ten thousand-seat hall was packed to capacity. Not a single empty seat.

Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Margarita Mamun has an Indian father of Bengali nationality, and her mother is a Russian gymnast. The girl even once competed for Bangladesh, but moved to the Russian national team, where she successfully performs, showing excellent technique and winning first places. The main achievement is Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, from 2013 to 2015 she became world champion three times, in 2013 and 2015 she became European champion twice, won the Kazan Universiade in 2013, was the champion of the European tournament in Baku in 2015, and was also three times champion of Russia from 2011 to 2013. At the beginning of the Olympics, the athlete’s height was 170 centimeters and her weight was about 50 kilograms.

Junior sports

Biography of Margarita Mamun - junior athlete. Full name Russian gymnast - Margarita Abdullaevna Mamun. Her hometown— Moscow, where she was born on November 1, 1995. Mom is a Russian gymnast, dad is Abdullah Al Mamun, a Bengali by nationality, who arrived in the Russian Federation as a marine engineer. Rita herself has dual citizenship - Bangladesh and Russia at the same time; as a child, she even once competed for her father’s homeland in 2005 (tournament in Tartu). But in other competitions she defended the honor of Russia, and now, of course, she feels like a completely Russian athlete.

As a child, the girl visited her other homeland - Bangladesh, where everything seemed unusual to her - cows that no one touches, many cars on the roads, many poor people on the streets. But she also saw beautiful nature- bamboo groves, thickets of lotuses. In Moscow, a girl in early age I went to figure skating, but my parents took her away because they were so afraid of injury.

By the standards of rhythmic gymnastics, Rita started walking quite late - at the age of seven, the sports school was within walking distance from home, and she began training at the insistence of her mother. Margarita Mamun did not see her future in a sports career, only with her first serious victories, which began at the age of 11, did she decide to connect her future with this difficult, yet graceful sport. At the sports school, Rita’s coach was Natalya Kukushnina, now Margarita is being prepared for competitions by Amina Zaripova, the coach of the Russian team, of which the gymnast is a member, Irina Viner-Usmanova. The coaches, together, prepared Rita for a result that is one of the best in Russian rhythmic gymnastics.

World-class

In 2011

After nine years of grueling training and victories at regional competitions, a series of serious successes began. In 2011, Margarita won the Russian Championship, receiving gold for clubs, hoop, ball and all-around. After such a dizzying rise, Mamun Margarita moved to the Olympic village of Novogorsk (Moscow region), which is one of the best in the world in terms of equipment.

In 2011, at the World Cup in Montreal, Margarita won bronze in the all-around, this was the first award in senior, that is, adult sports. The second medal, gold, was for the ball. The coach began preparing the girl for the Moscow Grand Prix.

In 2012

The following year, 2012, Rita performed at the Moscow Grand Prix, where she was only ninth. But Moscow was followed by Kyiv, which hosted the first stage of the world cup. The all-around did not go well again, although the result was better - seventh place. But in three apparatuses - ball, clubs and ribbon, she became a finalist and received 3 bronze medals, respectively.

Margarita secured 2012 with another championship title, winning the championship Russian Federation. Next year started again with the Russian rhythmic gymnastics championship.

In 2013

Rita began 2013 with yet another confirmation of the title of Russian champion; she has already won three times at these prestigious competitions, the competition at which can only be compared with competitions on an international scale. But such success did not give the coach and athlete a reason to relax - the European Championship was ahead.

Rita held her first European championship in the Austrian capital of Vienna. In the team competition, Dasha Svatkovskaya and Yana Kudryavtseva helped her with their results; in the end, everyone received gold. In the individual competition she received gold for the ribbon, and three silvers for the ball, hoop and clubs.

An interesting fact was associated with this Universiade - just before the competition, she developed a severe allergy, which was accompanied by the appearance of red blisters. Rita was more or less treated only at the start of the competition. A little later, a competition was held in the same city, where Margarita received gold for the ribbon, clubs, hoop, and gold for the individual all-around was added to this success.

Until this time, Margarita had only competed in different stages of the world cup, but in 2013 she competed at the World Cup itself in Kiev and immediately received the highest result - two first places for the ball and clubs, and also received a bronze medal for exercises with a hoop.

In 2014

The next stage of the Moscow Grand Prix took place in 2014, where Margarita received gold for exercises with a ball, clubs, and a hoop; the ribbon brought silver. The next Grand Prix took place in the southern suburb of Paris, Thiers, where Rita won second place for all-around exercises and became the champion for exercises with clubs.

The next stage of the Grand Prix took place in the Israeli city of Holon, where she won exercises with a ball and hoop, also received gold for the all-around, and a silver medal for the ribbon. The final competitions of this series of Grand Prix took place in the Austrian city of Innsbruck, where Mamun became a real triumphant and absolute champion - a full set of gold awards for exercises with clubs, ribbon, hoop, ball, as well as for all-around.

Do not forget that rhythmic gymnastics consists of little things, and often the gap in points between the leading athletes is so small that any mistake can sharply set you back. This was confirmed by the Baku European Championship in Azerbaijan - she was only fifth in the all-around, the reason was errors with clubs and hoop. But this was a small episode in her sports career, since in Izmir, Turkey, Mamun became the world champion, defeating Sasha Soldatova and Yana Kudryavtseva together. In the finals, the athlete received two gold medals for the ribbon and ball, and three silver medals for exercises with clubs, hoop and in the individual all-around.

The year ended with another record result - Rita became the champion in all events at the Aeon Cup.

In 2015

In 2015, Margarita did not miss a single stage of the world cup, having traveled to many European and Russian cities at these competitions. Lisbon brought home a silver medal in the all-around and a gold medal for exercises with ribbon, ball and hoop. The Romanian capital of Bucharest awarded the gymnast a silver medal for the hoop and ball exercise, as well as for the all-around. The Hungarian capital Budapest brought the champion title for exercises with clubs, a silver medal was for exercises with a ball, ribbon, hoop and for all-around. The Bulgarian capital Sofia was pleased with second place for the ribbon, hoop, and all-around. At two stages of the World Cup - in the cities of Tashkent and Kazan, Margarita Mamun became the absolute champion in all disciplines.

Then there was the World Championships in the capital of the German state of Baden-Württenberg, Stuttgart, where Rita received a gold medal in the all-around with Sasha Soldatova and Yana Kudryavtseva. There was also gold for the hoop, silver for performing with a ribbon and a ball. The individual all-around brought silver. In addition to numerous awards, Mamun received a ticket to the Olympic Games, for which the champion and her coach A. Zaripova began preparing in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

Olympic 2016

Margarita started 2016 with double gold at the Moscow Grand Prix (for ball and clubs). The continuation of this tournament in Thieu brought three gold medals for clubs, hoop and all-around, and she received a silver medal for the ball. The third part of the competition took place in Brno, where she won in all disciplines, but missed the fourth part in Bucharest. The World Cup brought gold for clubs, hoop and ribbon, as well as all-around. The European Championships in Holon brought silver for the all-around.

The athlete's main success awaited her in Rio de Janeiro, where on August 20 she became the Olympic champion in the individual all-around. It was a triumph in the athlete’s biography, the logical result of many years of work.

Personal life

Before the Olympics, the training schedule was very intense. Like all gymnasts, Rita had no time to be bored, but sometimes she was visited by thoughts that she could not manage her time as much as her peers. Not going for a walk, not going to the cinema one more time, strict diet - all for the sake of victories. But athletes are not only physically strong people, they have a different mental makeup. A sense of responsibility, love of work, organization - only such qualities could lead to good result in the conditions of millions of competitors.

To distract the girl from her busy schedule and constant injuries, her parents bought Margarita and Yana Kudryavtseva a dog, a dwarf Spitz, who was named Lebrosha. So the three of them live in the same room at the Novogorsk sports base. In sports, girls are rivals, but in life they are friends.

Margarita long time met with a famous and successful Russian athlete - Sasha Sukhorukov, whose hometown was Ukhta. He has been a member of the Russian national team since 2004, received a silver medal at the Olympic Games in 2008, and became the world champion in the same year. In 2016, Alexander Sukhorukov and Margarita Mamun decided to start a family.

Margarita Mamun is married. The husband is a silver medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games, a Russian swimmer. The wedding took place in September 2017.

Margarita Mamun is only 20 years old, but she has already achieved incredible success in sports and became the world champion in rhythmic gymnastics seven times. The 2016 Olympic Games are ahead... Until recently, it was unknown whether the Russian team would be able to take part in international competitions, nevertheless, the athletes hoped for the best, and Rita continued to prepare for her performance in Rio de Janeiro. Fortunately, very soon the gymnast will represent Russia in the individual all-around at the Olympics. the site met with Rita’s mother, Anna Mamun, and learned how to raise a real champion.

Behind every talented athlete is a strong mother who supported him in difficult moments, motivated him not to quit classes halfway when it became completely unbearable, and sacrificed her interests for the benefit of the child. Those women who have raised champions have a particularly clear understanding of the price at which all victories actually come and with what bitterness failures are experienced. On the eve of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, we talked with the most important fan of gymnast Margarita Mamun - her mother. Anna Mamun told us about how her daughter took her first steps in rhythmic gymnastics, about the inevitable difficulties, and most importantly, about the will to win.

? Why did you choose rhythmic gymnastics?

Anna Mamun: Rita started doing rhythmic gymnastics quite late, when she was already 7 years old. As a child she liked dancing and figure skating- It all started with him. Ritochka was always very flexible, and the coach often repeated: “Haven’t you done gymnastics?” Then we decided to go try our hand at gymnastics, despite the fact that our daughter was already quite old enough to practice this sport professionally. Fortunately, Rita very quickly got involved and began to enjoy the training.

A.M.: Our school was not as serious as “Wings of the Soviets” or CSKA, where girls went to the Moscow and Russian championships. Ritochka went to a completely ordinary club, and almost no major events happened. However, we sometimes went abroad and participated in club competitions.

“I remember everything - every award. I wipe the dust and think, this is the very first medal, how expensive it is! And this is the very first cup..."

website: How did Rita manage to combine intensive training with studies?

A.M.: Until the age of 14, Rita did rhythmic gymnastics unprofessionally and studied calmly until the 8th grade, while training well. But when her daughter was noticed and offered to participate in serious competitions, she faced a difficult choice. Rita had to finish school as an external student, this was not even discussed. In the morning we went to the first training session, and her classmates went to study. Of course, she was very worried, leaving school, worried about how she would pass the Unified State Exam. My daughter has always been very responsible and studied diligently. Alas, you can’t sit on 2 chairs at once: you chose sports. But I’m glad that she already had a good foundation before the 8th grade, because most of the athletes have been studying under the external program since they were 12 years old.

website: Tell me, did you feel sorry for your daughter, because you, like no one, know what sacrifices she had to make? I didn’t want to tell her: “Let’s sleep today, don’t go to school, don’t go to training”?

A.M.: Now I feel much more sorry for her, to be honest. Most importantly, she never complained. When he comes, sometimes he has no strength and does his homework while lying down.

? Tell us about her character?

A.M.: As a child, Rita was very shy and reserved. Even now she says: “Mom, I don’t know what I would be like if you hadn’t sent me to sports.” Now the daughter has become much braver, although they say that we need to be even braver.

website: Probably at Rita’s now a big problem with free time. Do you manage to spend leisure time together?

A.M.: It works, of course. Her brother is always waiting for her at home. On Saturday we pick up Rita, and on Sunday she needs to return to the training center. My daughter is lucky that she lives in Moscow and we can come at any time. Many athletes generally visit home only 2 times a year - non-residents permanently live in Novogorsk. We come to Rita, sometimes we walk around the territory, or we can go to the center, go to the cinema, sit in a cafe.

website: Colleagues and fans of your daughter call her Bengal Tiger. What do you call her in the family circle?

A.M.: I call her Ritochka. For some reason she used to call me Swallow. In my phone she is recorded as Ritulya. And Irina Alexandrovna was once her Bengal Tiger (Irina Viner-Usmanova is Margarita Mamun’s mentor, - approx..
