19.04.2015

2015 began not so long ago, and a lot of things have already been banned, some of which at first glance seem quite harmless.

“Hell always comes gradually...” Quote.

1. Concerts of Diana Arbenina, Liya Akhedzhakova, Andrei Makarevich and in memory of Boris Nemtsov

What's happened: On April 10, the Tyumen public organization “Parental Committee” appealed to the regional authorities with a request to protect residents of the region from the performance of actress Liya Akhedzhakova, the leader of the “Time Machine” Andrei Makarevich and the lead singer of the group “Night Snipers” Diana Arbenina. “... Andrei Makarevich, Liya Akhedzhakova, Diana Arbenina and others make openly anti-patriotic, anti-state statements,” says the head"Committee" Andrey Dobrynin.

Cancellations of Makarevich and Arbenina’s concerts began after their performances in Ukraine. In August, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov called the situation around Makarevich a “reaction public opinion" Earlier, Makarevich wrote an open letter to Putin, in which he asked the president to stop the “sabbath” that discredits his name.

Arbenina's concerts were canceled in Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Tver, Kursk, Belgorod, Orel, Kazan, Volgograd, Kostroma, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnodar, Samara.

Also in early April, most major Moscow venues refused to hold a concert with the participation of Russian rock stars in memory of Boris Nemtsov, 40 days after the politician’s murder. Ultimately, it was decided to hold a concert in memory of Boris Nemtsov on the Dozhd TV channel, where Kozyrev works. The broadcast will take place on the evening of April 7.

2. BANS ON ALCOHOL ENERGY DRINKS

Some Russian regions– Sakhalin, St. Petersburg, Kalmykia, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Kirov and Vologda regions, etc. – from the beginning of the year will join other entities that have already banned the sale of low-alcohol tonic drinks.

3. Ban on using Putin’s image in gubernatorial elections

What's happened: Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov confirmed media information about the Kremlin’s ban on the use of Vladimir Putin’s image in the elections of regional heads.

Why was it banned: According to Peskov, the president does his job perfectly well, but regional leaders should have their own rating and rely more on it.

In 2015, governors will be elected in 13 federal subjects.

4. ban on travel abroad for employees of “law enforcement” departments

What's happened: In February of this year, the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs distributed a document among its employees that will limit their travel abroad. So, for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the rules for traveling abroad were tightened, or rather, they were completely prohibited from doing so, except in exceptional individual cases (such as traveling for treatment). It's about also about the countries that are members of the Commonwealth Independent States(CIS) and the Customs Union.

Similar orders were made for employees of the FSB, FAPSI, FMS, FSKN, FSIN, FSO, military and other law enforcement agencies.

Why was it banned: Abroad, “siloviki” can fall into the clutches of Western intelligence services and give away state and official secrets. Seriously, that's the official explanation.

What now: Putin recently called the ban on traveling abroad for local police officers “excessive,” but explained it by the desire for the same conditions for all employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

What's happened: On January 1, 2015, a ban on advertising on television channels “accessed exclusively on a paid basis and (or) using technical decoding devices” came into force. Vladimir Putin said at a press conference on December 18, 2014 that the decision to ban advertising on paid channels was lobbied by the management of federal broadcast channels.

Why was it banned: In Russia, any attempts to create even a small television that is not controlled by the authorities are being killed.

What now: More than 300 paid channels were affected, some of which were forced to cease operations in Russia or increase their subscription prices.

What's happened: The prosecutor's office of the Apastovsky district of Tatarstan demanded that access to 136 sites with pornography be limited. How did she find them? It turns out that prosecutors were able to enter the phrases “prostitutes of Kazan” and “porn video” into the search. The sites found were reviewed by the Tatarkino expert commission, which also discovered pornographic materials.

Why was it banned: The prosecutor's office referred to documents international conventions on preventing the distribution of pornography in 1923 and 1910, signed by the USSR and Tsarist Russia.

What now: The court upheld the claim of the prosecutor's office and demanded that the resources be included in the register of Internet pages with prohibited information, access to which should be limited.

What happened: The Novosibirsk diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church was offended by the production of Tannhäuser at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater.

Reason for ban: Insulting the feelings of believers.

What now: An administrative case was opened against the director of the play, Timofey Kulyabin, and the director of the theater, Boris Mezdrich, for deliberately publicly insulting the feelings of believers. On March 10, a trial took place: the cultural figures were acquitted. Nevertheless, Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky announced the dismissal of Mezdrich and the exclusion of the opera from the repertoire.

What happened:"Information detoxification". In short: the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation will check a video in which girls dressed in bee costumes perform a twerk dance.

Reasons for the ban: Debauchery, excessive sexuality of the dance of minors, colors of costumes reminiscent of the St. George's ribbon.

What now: The Investigative Committee of Russia found signs of depraved acts in the video. The prosecutor's office began an inspection of the entire cultural center where the Credo dance school was located. The school was closed, after which a proposal was made to conduct inspections at all dance schools in the country to determine whether the services provided were consistent with moral standards.

What happened: Again, “Information detoxification” (there are also examples of film bans in the Russian Federation). In short: hollywood movie"Number 44", which tells how an officer Soviet intelligence investigates a series of murders, was withdrawn from theaters the day before the premiere.

Reason for ban: Representatives of the Ministry of Culture considered that the film distorts the history of Russia.

What now: The film was withdrawn from distribution, and the distributors lost about 50 million rubles, which “Number 44” could have earned in Russia.

What happened: During the opening of the renovated Central children's store“On Lubyanka, shoppers found in one of the stores figurines of Third Reich soldiers with fascist symbols.

Reason for ban: Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity.”

What now: The figurines were confiscated, and the prosecutor's office opened a criminal case.

What happened: The Moscow petty bourgeois court upheld Roskomnadzor’s claim against the ironic encyclopedia “Lurkomorye” and demanded the removal of the page with a photograph of singer Valery Syutkin, illustrating the meme “BBPE” (Beat a woman in the f... l).

Why was it banned: The court ruled that the singer’s image is protected by the Personal Data Law.

What now: The case with Syutkin became the first precedent for a lawsuit over an Internet meme. According to the official position of Roskomnadzor, violation of the law on personal data in relation to public figures implies “the use of a photo of a public person as the personification of a popular Internet meme that has nothing to do with the personality of the celebrity.”

Meanwhile, the picture is still on the encyclopedia website.

What happened: The editors of the publication “Orthodoxy and Peace” received a letter from Roskomnadzor with a message about the ban on indicating the reasons for suicide in materials.

Reason for ban: News item “Two cancer patients committed suicide in Moscow.” Roskomnadzor referred to a 2012 law that prohibits the media from publishing calls for suicide and descriptions of methods. The text of the law says nothing about publishing the causes of suicide.

Now in Russia, hundreds (if not thousands) of cancer patients are suffering hellish torment because they cannot get painkillers. Many of them commit suicide.

What now Orthodoxy and Peace has edited the news.

13. Bands Cannibal Corpse and Marilyn Manson

What happened: Orthodox activists across the country disrupt concerts musical groups that they don't like. So in October 2014, the performance of the death metal band Cannibal Corpse was banned. In Ufa, activists even sued the musicians.

Roughly the same thing happened with the Marilyn Manson group, whose performance was opposed by funbnhjdfkb “Orthodox activists” in the cities where they were supposed to perform. Many shows have been cancelled..

Reason for ban The Oktyabrsky District Court of Ufa ruled that the group’s songs “contain descriptions of scenes of cruelty, physical and mental violence towards people and animals, suicide, which is contrary to the legislation of the Russian Federation.”

What now The lyrics of Cannibal Corpse songs are officially prohibited for performance on the territory of the Russian Federation, as are the performances of the group itself.

14. Exhibition of photographs about the “allies” in Yekaterinburg

Reason for ban: The exhibition was canceled under pressure from the FSB, which did not like the fact that the US and British consulates helped organize the event.

What now: Photos from the exhibition were circulated throughout the RuNet.

What happened: In March of this year, the Tretyakov Gallery banned filming in the museum using selfie monopods

Reason for ban: Global experience: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the London National Gallery, the Stedelijk in Amsterdam, the Versailles Museum and other major museums in the world have since the beginning of this year added selfie sticks to the list of prohibited items for bringing and using in the museum.

What now: The ban has been in effect for a month. The chief curator of museum objects at the Tretyakov Gallery, Tatyana Gorodkova, explains that people with monopods for selfies turn their backs to the exhibit and can cause harm to it or others.

What happened: In August 2014, workers painted the support overhead line power transmission on Nagornaya street in blue and yellow color. In October, the same story happened next to Pashkov’s house - the flower beds there were covered with blue and yellow sawdust.

Reason for ban: According to the assignment, the workers were supposed to paint the pole in the corporate colors of the Moscow United Electric Grid Company - yellow, blue and white, but for some reason they decided to ignore white.

What now: The MOESK workers were reprimanded and forced to correct the mistake. The flower workers were detained by the police, but at the department they explained the choice of flowers not for political reasons, but by the fact that only sawdust of these colors remained in the warehouse.
