Alain Delon interview betting match. Alain Delon admitted his hatred of the modern “fake era”

Shock, pain, despair. The legendary French actor Alain Delon, sung in songs, became a household name in the USSR and was the standard of male beauty, gave extremely frank interview to the most popular French magazine Paris Match, in which he admitted that in his declining years he was leaving “this damned life” without regret. This largely shocking interview was republished by many European media, but in his homeland in France they remained indifferent to the cry from the soul of the elderly star.

The interview, which was conducted by Valerie Trierweiler, a journalist and former life partner of ex-French President Francois Hollande, with the 82-year-old actor, was formally dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the start of Alain Delon’s film career. On the cover of the publication they placed a photo of a beautiful and young actor at the beginning of his brilliant career. But this gloss disappears when you read the text itself.

The actor, who buried almost all of his peers - relatives and friends (he was especially shocked by the death of his former companion, actress Mireille Darc), with undisguised sadness and despair, summed up his entire life in a conversation and, from the heights of his past years, pronounced a verdict on the cruel time where , according to him, counterfeit valuables rule the roost.

"IN modern world“everything is unreal, because everything depends on money,” admitted Alain Delon, who lives alone in his house near Paris. true friend, according to him, his two-year-old dog remains for him, and Alain Delon wants her “to leave this world with him rather than be sad alone at his grave.”

Loneliness in old age does not spare the strongest and greatest - this is the main conclusion after reading this material. “I will leave this world without regret,” Delon admits, adding that he is not the best father for his children, one of whom still refuses to acknowledge him or communicate with him.

“I have already seen everything, experienced everything. But the main thing is that I hate this time, it makes me sick,” the legendary actor told Valerie Trierweiler. “Everything is fake, all feelings are offended, there is no respect or skill left in the world.” keep your word, only money is important, all you hear about crime around the clock.”

And to this day, Delon has no end to fans. But, according to him, he still has not met that “faithful, only one who will remain with him to the end.” “I’m not saying that I don’t have a candidate, there are ten of them, but so far there is no one with whom I would spend the rest of my life. I could get married if this woman was ready to take me to the end,” said the actor, who does not hide his bitterness and “fatigue from fame.”

It was previously announced that Alain Delon will star in the new film directed by Patrice Leconte, in which Juliette Binoche will become his partner. However, the filming of this melodrama is constantly postponed.

Thanks to an outstanding filmography and stormy privacy, Alain Delon, with his rare charisma and beauty, has become a myth not only of European but also of world cinema. Over the 60 years of his career, Alain Delon ( full name- Alain Fabien Maurice Marcel Delon), born on November 8, 1935 in the town of Saux near Paris, played in hundreds of films, including “Rocco and His Brothers” and “The Leopard” by Luchino Visconti, “Samurai” and “Pandur” by Jean-Pierre Melville, "Mr. Klein" by Joseph Losey and "Eclipse" by Michelangelo Antonioni. One of the critics wrote that Delon’s real role, in which he found himself, is “A hero with a double bottom. A fallen angel.” Although in 1999 Alain Delon announced that he would no longer act in films, he appeared in several television series and even in a film about the adventures of Asterix and Obelix. He is also remembered for his duet performance with the cult singer Dalida of the song "Paroles, Paroles" ("Words, Words").

Delon's popularity plummeted in France in last years due to his arrogance and self-centeredness, which his compatriots mistake for delusions of grandeur. However, most citizens recognize that Alain Delon is one of the greatest French actors of all time.

BEFORE: Did you know Christian Dior personally?

HELL: Yes, I knew him, although not for long, because he died in the late 50s. We met before I started acting in films. For me, the House of Dior is an integral part of France, and it never even occurred to me that someday later I would be related to it.

BEFORE: How did your meeting with the House of Dior happen now, so many years later?

HELL: This happened regardless of me! The House of Dior staff accidentally saw my photograph from 1966 and, realizing that this was also the year Eau Sauvage was born, contacted me. And I agreed without thinking.

BEFORE: Do you remember how this photo was taken?

HELL: She doesn't have any special story. The photo was taken in a house I rented in Saint-Tropez in 1966, it was a beautiful villa and I still regret not buying it. We spent the summer with my wife and son Anthony, who was then two years old. And then one day a photographer, whom I knew well, was in Saint-Tropez and stopped by to see me. He asked if he could take some pictures. That's all. I had no idea that these photographs would become world famous.

BEFORE: When you look at this photograph now, what memories does it evoke?

HELL: It reminds me first of all of the place where it was made, where I lived with my son and his mother. It was a great time, very happy moment my life, when I was with my family, before the films “Swimming Pool”, “Adventurers”, “Samurai” came out.

BEFORE: All over the world you are considered a true symbol of France. Are you proud of this?

HELL: Of course I'm proud. You come to, say, Japan, and the taxi driver or doorman says: “Oh, you are a Frenchman, like Alain Delon and General de Gaulle.” They know General de Gaulle and Alain Delon. Sorry, but still this is not bad at all for a former sausage maker! I recently received congratulations on behalf of the Chinese Ambassador to France, who writes: “With friendly feelings to A. Delon, whom 1.3 billion Chinese consider their most favorite actor.” I was really touched because I am a very sensitive person. It's the same story in Moscow. You should see what happens when I show up somewhere! But the fact is that I never aspired to become such an ambassador of France, all this came to me by itself. First of all, of course, I must say thank you to my mother, because she gave me an appearance that helped me in many ways. Although I have also met those people for whom appearance is rather a hindrance, because it alone is not enough.

BEFORE: What kind of women do you find attractive?

HELL: For me, female attractiveness is a kind of insight. It doesn't matter the color of your skin or hair, but you see a woman and there is a delightful flash! This is what attractiveness is! I like women, but I can't say that I'm attracted to any particular type of woman. There's a flash and I say to myself, "She's great."

BEFORE: What is true elegance to you?

HELL: What elegance is cannot be explained, it can only be seen. For me, elegance is restraint. I know that some people have to be different from everyone else, they see it as a game. As for me, it’s just the opposite, I don’t strive to be recognized, I don’t need to drive a Ferrari or wear a bow tie to attract attention. The innate, natural elegance of both men and women is simply felt!

BEFORE: What is real luxury for you?

HELL: This has nothing to do with fashion. The real luxury for me today, and at first glance this may seem strange, is my freedom. I have always been a free person, free in my actions, movements, I have always been free to do what I want, when I want, where I want, with whom I want, for fifty years now I have been doing so. This is exactly what I once said to a journalist, to which she replied: “Yes, this is really luxury!”

BEFORE: Do you think ideas about masculinity have changed in recent years?

HELL: Yes, I am aware of this, especially when comparing modern cinema with what was filmed a couple of decades ago. In cinema there are no longer those images of eternal masculinity or femininity that I liked so much. But this is normal - one era replaces another. Masculinity in cinema, in my opinion, belongs to my era. Now the concept of masculinity applies more to athletes. I am also often credited with traits ideal man, and it doesn’t bother me at all: if you like it better, it’s good for you, if you don’t like it, it’s okay...

I think it's becoming less and less macho. I hear women complain that “there are no real men”! What a pity that I can’t lose twenty-five years!

BEFORE: You mentioned your age. How do you manage to stay in great shape?

HELL: I am often asked about this; after all, I am approaching 75 years old. My answer is this: to stay in shape, make love and drink a lot of water.

BEFORE: And it's all?!

HELL: Yes Yes! I haven't played sports for a long time. I don't know what cosmetic creams are. Want an example? People often say to me: “How do you manage to keep your hair like that?” I myself don’t know how I manage to do this. I go to the hairdresser, and he is also surprised by this, because I don’t do anything to keep in shape. And I don't exercise, I don't go to the spa, I don't swim, I walk a little, I walk with my dogs and that's it. Besides, my doctor says that I don’t walk enough, I should walk more.

BEFORE: What inspires you now?

HELL: Women. I owe everything I have achieved to women. After all, all my life I have strived for the woman I love to believe that I am the strongest, the most beautiful, the very best. I tried to read it in her eyes! This is what motivated me all my life. And everything I did, I did just for this.

BEFORE: Do you have any interesting plans for the near future?

HELL: Next week my daughter and I will be reading a play in which we will act together. This is real happiness - to play in the same play with my daughter... After this, I can die in peace!

“For me, true luxury is being able to do what I want, when I want, where I want.”

The other day there was a presentation of this exhibition - in Moscow, without Isabelle, but with a great fan of Bulgakov's novel, the legendary Alain Delon. OK! became the only weekly with which great actor agreed to talk

I admit, I have dreamed of entering the room where Alain Delon is so easily since I was thirteen. From the moment my mother once sat me down in front of the TV with the words: “Now you will see the Movie.” It was Visconti, Rocco and His Brothers. And it was the young and indecently handsome Alain Delon in a duet with the stunning Annie Girardot. Delon is an absolute sex symbol, be it in the 60s or 90s. Surprisingly, even in our time there are girls who don’t give a damn about Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise, although it would seem that these are their contemporaries. Delon’s time, on the contrary, has long passed, but many people still make comparisons today: “Well, this guy, of course, is not Alain Delon...” His name has become synonymous with the concept “ handsome man" Unfortunately, it is not synonymous with the concept " good actor", although this is unfair. This fact, of course, upset Alain in his youth: he, a guy from poor family who conquered millions women's hearts, had great ambitions. And a completely atypical character for a movie star. “There was no stupid vanity, only a gigantic desire to please and be the first - not to be envied, but for one’s own sake!” - said his eternal rival Jean-Paul Belmondo about Delon. A couple of years ago, in an interview with Paris Match, Delon admitted that today he feels like a winner: he and world celebrity, and a producer, and the owner of luxury villas and cars. At the same time, Alain does not hide how... lonely he is. “Women from all over the planet, write me letters!” - asked the famous Frenchman with such beautiful blue eyes, that it is better to strap yourself to a chair so as not to succumb to their magic. Loneliness? This will seem strange, but Alain Delon lived with this all his life - both when, through his own stupidity, he lost Romy Schneider, and when, falling in love with women again and again, for some reason he decided to leave. “I had a terrible childhood, I didn’t know what parental love was. That’s why I made mistakes so often,” said the actor. There are still those in France who are sure that Alain’s success came thanks to connections with the Marseille mafia. They said a lot about him. That is why, before meeting with the mysterious Delon, it was difficult for me to choose only eight to ten questions - there was no time for more. It is unlikely that I will be able to reveal the secret of one of the most beautiful men of our time in just half an hour. But I still wanted to lift the veil...
Monsieur Delon, at the airport and here at the hotel, paparazzi are watching over you. Not many actors at 74 are attacked like this by journalists...
It sounded like a veiled compliment. ( Smiling.) It turns out I'm still interesting?
If you were offered to participate in the photo project “The Master and Margarita”, what role would you play with the greatest pleasure?
I fell in love with Bulgakov’s novels a long time ago, but... with much greater pleasure I would play in a good Russian film. It's strange why none of your directors offer me this? I have always liked Soviet films - if the Russians make strong films, then they penetrate to the very heart.
Maybe directors don’t offer it because you criticize movies more often than you praise them?
I always scold for business. After the 80s, there are almost no good films. For example, young lady, have you cried over any modern film?
Not as much as with “Rocco”... Although this is not the task of cinema - to make a girl cry?
The task of cinema is to make people perk up and feel something. Don't tell them about social problems in a poorly staged film with clueless actors. By the way, I judge from myself: I, too, can burst into tears in the middle of the film.
Why are old movies still so popular among young viewers?
Are you calling me an old movie?! Old! I should be offended by this word. ( Laughs.) Seriously though, the ideals, it seems to me, are always the same - people want to watch films about love, about strong feelings. And in modern cinema there is no depth. I have a feeling that only two years ago the revival of European cinema began. But it will take at least another ten years to return to the previous level.
You have played in so many films. But if you honestly ask yourself whether you are satisfied in every role you play, what is the answer?
I played everything I wanted. There were some “if onlys” in my career, like everyone else. For example, I would love to play with Marlon Brando - on the same stage, for example. A brilliant actor. But it didn't happen.
Remember the moment when you first felt that producers and directors were calling you to act in films not only because you are beautiful and women are crazy about you, but because you are a really strong actor.
If you expect me to tell you how long I doubted whether I could play or not, this is in vain. Around 1958, I already knew what I could do. There are a lot of handsome guys, in fact. Another thing is that stars nowadays do not have to be beautiful, and therefore anyone can become a star today. Although it shouldn't be that way.
You once asked women to write letters to you. Were there Russian girls among those who responded?
Certainly! It's funny, but a lot of people wrote to me from France fewer women than from Russia or, say, China. How country to the east, those more I am interesting to women. By the way, I answered almost all the letters then.
Monsieur Delon, I know that you are a wonderful actor. Therefore, I doubt that I will be able to accurately determine whether you will answer my last question honestly or if you are lying. (Delon smiles and signs to continue.) In your relationship with the most beautiful women There were always problems. What personality trait do you think has hindered you the most?
(After some thought.) the main problem- in me: I am not a clown, not a salesman, not a lawyer. I'm an actor, you know? This means that the woman had to live with a policeman, a detective, a sailor or a businessman. Each time, a piece of the role got used to me, so much so that for a long time I could not get rid of it. And it hurts relationships, it hurts a lot. C'est la vie...
