The first unofficial details of a major update - "Arms Trade" were found on the network, which is scheduled for release in spring-summer 2017.

December 15, 2016 user from GTAForums.com opened a topic where he talked about some of the details of the new update.

Before proceeding to the description, I will say a few words about why I decided to publish a fresh leak about the “Arms Trade”. As a tradition, I try to avoid publishing various rumors related to Grand Theft Auto and its multiplayer.

Rockstar Games has been using the method of planned leaks for many months to fuel interest in . In most cases, they do this through trusted bloggers, but sometimes the information is “leaked” by the developers themselves.

So it was with the recent update " Import Export”, where on one of the resources a few weeks before the release, details of the novelty were published. When the update came out, everything written was confirmed, except for some of the names of the missions and vehicles.

Rockstar Games tactics work - GTA 5 remains one of the most popular games of our time, despite the fact that it was released back in 2013!

Below you will learn about the Arms Deal leak, look at the list of new weapons (actually they are old, but not used and stored as separate files in the GTA 5 archives), and also check out one new weapon camouflage skin and learn more about laser sights in GTA 5 / GTA Online. Do not forget to read the sources of information, which, by tradition, I publish at the very end of the news.

Some of the information is a planned leak. It is important to understand that some features are subject to change or deprecation as they are in the early stages of development and some things are only planned but not yet implemented.

Perhaps all the warnings have been sounded, the necessary accents have been placed. Let's get started.

Update for GTA Online "Arms Trade" will be released during the period from spring to early summer 2017.

The main theme of the update: the ability to create and manage a private military company (PMC). Your PMC will cooperate with mercenaries from Merryweather.

Each private military company will need a base that you can upgrade.

PMCs will be able to earn money by completing tasks from Merryweather. For example, the tasks of illegal transportation of military trophies, the sale of people or the protection of VIPs in the GTA universe, such as Jock Cranly or Vinewood Stars.

By purchasing a special upgrade for the military base, you will have access to exclusive Merryweather weapons: a new rifle (SCAR-H equivalent), a prototype grenade launcher (grenades will explode on approach to the target), tactical SMG (modern weapon with a monstrous rate of fire). It is important to note that these weapons are not sold in Ammu-Nation stores.

Almost all weapons will receive new modification options: new skins, laser sights, new sights for shooting at short or long distances, the ability to quickly change magazines.

At the military base, you can modify your transport, as well as advance to missions with the help of a new attack helicopter, light tank, camouflage jeep, aircraft or fighter.

The PMC military base will also offer the opportunity to buy new military helmets, vests and some clothing. The assortment will not be as wide as in clothing stores.

With the release of Arms Dealing, Rockstar Games will complete the construction of GTA Online's business structure. The history of the GTA 5 laser sight is rooted in the weapon modification progenitor Max Payne 3 (developed and published by Rockstar Games).

Rockstar first showed a working laser sight on August 24, 2012, while the game was in active development. In the first screenshot, a special forces soldier on a helicopter shines with a laser mounted on an automatic carbine.

The second screenshot shows the psychopath Trevor shooting at a police helicopter. We see that the commando is aiming at Trevor with a laser sight.

In the future, laser sights disappeared from the game forever. Apparently, Rockstar Games has found an opportunity to bring back one of the most useful weapon modifications to the game along with the Gun Trade. Presumably, the installation of a laser sight will increase the accuracy of shooting.

Some players are still unaware that GTA 5 has deleted weapon fragments. The game has a file responsible for weapon icons. R* has occasionally updated this file with better quality icons. They only upgraded the weapons, gadgets, and ammo used in the game. Old and blurry icons remained only for the removed weapon. However, with the release of patch 1.33, absolutely all weapon icons received an update.

Why was it necessary to spend energy updating unused icons? In my opinion the answer suggests itself: R* are planning to return the removed weapon.

But what is this weapon? Let's look at the entire list and compare with the one above.

Heavy Rifle- Cost ~3 275$. Real prototype FN SCAR-H. Competes in damage with the Special Carabine.

Programmable grenade launcher (Programmable AR)- Cost ~$25,000. Based on XM-25. The very prototype of a grenade launcher that detonates ammunition flying up to the target.

Assault machine gun (Assault MG)- Cost ~$30,000. More powerful than a heavy machine gun (Combat MG).

Assault Sniper Rifle- Cost ~3 400$. An intermediate version between a sniper rifle (Sniper) and a heavy sniper rifle (Heavy Sniper). An assault semi-automatic sniper rifle that shares a position with a precision rifle (Marksman Rifle).

Perhaps this is the end of the story about the “Arms Trade”, a future update to GTA Online. A few more weeks will pass and Rockstar Games will definitely tell us the official details of the update, or once again use the old proven and incredibly effective method - create a planned leak.
