V auditorium there were mostly builders and miners. But the applause of these people gave the young singer confidence and strength.

Leontyev reached the level of the all-Union scale after winning the competition in Yalta. By that time, he already had a solo program. The repertoire has also changed somewhat. The song that brought him victory was a composition to the words of Rozhdestvensky and the music of Tukhmanov.

Biography of Valery Leontiev, personal life begins on March 19, 1949 in the village of Ust-Usa (Komi).

Valery Leontiev: personal life

Ekaterina Ivanovna Klyuts at the age of 43 gave birth to a boy - the future singer, Valery Leontyev. Father's name was Yakov Stepanovich Leontiev, he supported the family on the salary of a veterinarian, and also raised deer. In the future, due to the profession of the father of the novice singer, they will be called a reindeer breeder with derision. In addition to Valery, there were two more girls in the family. At the time of the appearance of the youngest child, the elder sister May was 15 years old. There is a version that it was she who was Valery's biological mother, and her mother, in order to hide the shame of her daughter, gave her grandson to her son.

The stories of the appearance of children in the Leontyev family are very confusing. There was a popular version that Yakov was May's stepfather. Young Katerina gave birth to her at the age of 18 from a gypsy. The adherents of this theory find confirmation in exotic appearance Valeria.
Like all creative people, Valery Leontiev had many hobbies: dancing, drawing, dramatic art. The family often changed their place of residence, Valery had few friends. Constant criticism from his parents made him a timid and quiet child. He dreamed of devoting himself to the exploration of the oceans, but the family did not have the money to train his son. In his youth, he tried himself in the professions of a tailor, an electrician, a worker at a factory, but he realized that this was not his way.

In the Song-71 competition, Valery performed on the big stage for the first time. The brilliant performance of the song "Carnival" brought him second place. The final breakthrough into the world of show business happened in 1972 at the "We are looking for talents" competition, which was held in Syvtyvkar. Here he became a soloist of the Echo ensemble. In the late 70s, the singer already shocked the Soviet audience with his bright, unusual for that time, costumes and solo performances.
Valery Leontyev's personal life, wife, children, are the most discussed topics of fans. After all, it is this side of life that the artist hides from prying eyes. Admirers of the talent were at a loss, journalists added fuel to the fire, attributing novels to him with men. The artist did not go out in public with women, did not explain anything to reporters, always behaved with dignity and restraint, not succumbing to provocations from spiteful critics. On stage he looked sexy and unusual. His revealing costumes were sometimes shocking.
Valery's first love happened during his school years. He fell in love with his classmate Katya, who, according to the couple's classmates, gave birth to a daughter, Irina, after a two-year romance. Valery himself does not comment on these rumors in any way, so they remain gossip. Composer Laura Quint reported that he and Leontyev had real love, but their happiness was prevented by jealousy.

Valery Leontiev! Biography, personal life - everything causes delight and surprise. After all, two versions of his birth, his relationship with women, his illegitimate children seem to be absolutely true.

Leontiev Valery: meeting his wife

Valery met his wife Lyudmila Isakovich in 1972, when he joined the Echo ensemble. At that time, Lyudmila was the leader of the group and was looking for a soloist. As Isakovich herself says, she realized at first glance that this was her boyfriend. More than 40 years have passed since then. However, many journalists call this marriage a fictitious one, I think Lyudmila Isakovich is too rough for Valery's refined creative nature. In support of this theory, the argument is made that the couple has not lived together for a long time. In the early nineties, Lyusya, as Leontyev calls his wife, left with the ensemble to America. She still lives in her own mansion in Miami, and Valery comes to her several times a year. Once in an interview, Leontyev commented on his relationship with Lyudmila and said that they were very strong and warm. She is his main critic and advisor.

Valery Leontiev: personal life, wife. Children? According to the singer, he has no children. He devoted his whole life to his career, and Luce always liked dogs more than children. Once Valery admitted to reporters that he regrets that he has no children. According to rumors, which the singer does not comment in any way, he even wanted to resort to the services of a surrogate mother, but he never found a worthy candidate.

Needless to say, illegitimate children are attributed to Valery Yakovlevich. And of course the singer would gladly recognize them if they were really his.

During his career, the singer has released over 30 albums. He starred in films: "On someone else's holiday", "Do not go, girls, get married", "Insurance agent", "Psychic". He sang and danced in musicals, won many music awards. He also successfully proved himself as a songwriter. In 2014 he released three albums - "Margarita", "The culprit", "Love-trap". Since 1981 he took part in the "Song of the Year".
V Last year Valery Leontiev does not travel to Miami. In an interview, he said that he wants to change his personal life, and also confessed his love for the viewer, music and stage.
At 67 years old, Valery Leontiev looks great and despite closed access to her personal life and always decent behavior, in the hearts of fans she continues to be Casanova and a heartthrob.

Valery Leontiev: biography, wife, children - photo:

Valery Leontiev is a very bright and extraordinary artist, a legend of the Soviet, and later Russian stage, holder of many titles and prestigious awards, was born on 03.19.1949.

Childhood

Valery's childhood passed so far from Moscow that as a little boy, he could not even imagine that someday fate would bring him to the capital. He was born in an ordinary working family, which at times barely made ends meet.

His father was from the Pomors, and his mother was a native of Ukraine, who miraculously ended up with the tiny village of Ust-Usa, Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, where the youngest in the family, the late child Valera, was born.

The kid grew up very inquisitive and active, from childhood he loved music: he felt the rhythm well and tried to sing and dance. But where was dancing in the village? When he grew up a little, his parents moved to Arkhangelsk region... There, in the cold winters and short summer, the character of little Valery was tempered.

The first modest opportunities for creative self-expression opened up for the boy after a new move, this time to a small town on the Volga Yuryevets. There he began to actively engage in school circles amateur performances, loved to sing and performed with pleasure at all concerts and other events.

He really liked the atmosphere of the stage and the audience's applause, and somewhere in the depths of a small talented soul, the dream of a big stage fluttered.

However, this dream was not the only one. Having Pomor roots, Valery was deeply and selflessly in love with the sea. In high school, he had a great desire to enter the Far Eastern University in the specialty of oceanography and to sail the blue expanses of the seas on a huge ship.

But when he mentioned his plans to his parents, they honestly said that they could not afford to finance such a dream.

Having recovered from the first disappointment, but trying to escape from the Russian hinterland, Valery went to take exams at a technical school for a specialty in radio engineering, hoping that this would somehow bring him closer to his dream.

Alas, these plans were not destined to come true. Not being a too diligent student, Valery simply failed the exams and returned to school, continuing to perform more than to comprehend the basics of science.

On the way to the stage

Valery returned to finish his studies at school with a firm decision to still become an artist. Therefore, he tried to devote most of his time to music, singing and dancing. I must say that the audience has always loved and greeted very warmly young artist, which gave him confidence in his own abilities. And, having received a school certificate, the boy still went to conquer Moscow.

This was his first visit to the capital. The huge city literally stunned the young man, who was not ready for such dramatic changes. And a few days before the first exam at GITIS, where the documents were submitted, Valery takes them and returns home.

However, not for long. Having tried many different professions, he understands that without higher education there is nothing to think about a normal job and leaves again. This time to Vorkuta.

There he enters a mining institute and at the same time finds himself a job in one of the scientific institutions. Three years turned out to be quite enough to understand that he cannot give up creativity, and the life of a simple engineer is boring and uninteresting for him. He again devoted less and less time to study and more and more spent on stage as part of amateur creative teams.

He especially became interested in singing. For several years, he had formed an almost full-fledged repertoire, which allowed him to perform in 1972 with an amateur, but still his debut solo concert on the stage of the regional Palace of Culture. It was this day that became a turning point in the fate of the young artist.

Bathed in the lights of spotlights and audience applause, Valery realizes that he cannot imagine any other fate than the career of an artist.

He decides to take part in the then popular competition "We are looking for talents" and, unexpectedly for himself, turns out to be its winner. The main prize was an internship in Moscow and fate again brings Valery to the capital. Surprisingly, the city again did not accept him.

Without completing his studies, Valery returns to Syktyvkar, but not to his former way of life. The city philharmonic society opened its doors in front of him, in which he quickly became a soloist of a pop group.

The creative team created an original and modern repertoire with which they toured practically throughout the entire USSR for more than 2 years. Of course, the concerts took place on the modest stages of regional recreation centers, and not on prestigious concert venues.

But, invariably warmly received by the audience, Leontiev received an inner self-confidence. And in 1978, having received an official offer from the leadership of the Gorky Philharmonic Society to become a leading soloist, he even dared to set his own conditions - obligatory participation in the All-Union Yalta competition of pop artists.

Finest hour

The artist took up preparation for the competition so seriously, as if his whole life depended on victory. To a large extent, it was so. Leontyev knew that the recording of the competition would be broadcast on central television and, having won it, he could quickly become famous and move to a completely different level as an artist. And so it happened. With the ballad "In Memory of a Guitarist" he won first prize.

The next milestone was the popular Bulgarian festival, which was held annually in Sopot and brought together talented performers from the countries of the former socialist community. We went through this festival in different years such Soviet pop stars as, etc.

And in 1979 Leontiev not only confidently wins it, but also receives a special prize from a prestigious fashion magazine for the best stage costume, the design of which was developed by the artist himself.

At the height of glory

1980 was one of the most brilliant and successful years in the artist's career. In addition to enormous stage success, he brought the artist an acquaintance with the then famous composer David Tukhmanov, who successfully worked with the stars. Tom liked the extraordinary style of the young performer, and since then their long-term creative union began.

For two years Leontiev performed at the best concert venues and in the most prestigious halls of all republics. the former USSR... It was a tremendous success, which became the reason for the strongest blow that the artist had to endure.

Having won in Sopot, he came into sight international journalists who compared him to Mick Jagger. And the Soviet censorship did not like it very much.

Overnight, Leontyev's career was in jeopardy. He was banned from performing and stopped showing on television. Continuous touring and severe stress hit the artist's health hard - he almost lost his voice.

For three long years, Leontyev disappears from the field of view of spectators and journalists. During this time, he managed to recover from depression, restore his voice after ligament surgery and even update his repertoire.

Triumphant return

The singer's return to the stage was triumphant. In addition, in those years he had a passionate affair with Laura Quint, who in every possible way supported the singer and wrote her own best songs... Since then, he has become one of the recognized leaders of the Soviet stage. Not a single big concert, not a single musical show of the country can do without Leontyev.

Over 40 years old creative way Leontiev has recorded 22 full-length studio albums, starred in more than 20 musicals and films, and released 30 video clips. He finished actively performing on stage in 2014, giving several farewell anniversary concerts. Three generations of viewers have grown up on his songs, for whom he will forever remain a favorite performer.

Valery Leontiev - a legend Russian show business, whose popularity has not diminished over the years, and representatives of the 4th generation of listeners continue to admire the artist's work.

At one time, the singer became the first to bring the traditions of musical and theatrical shows to the stage, for short term transformed from a humble provincial boy into an international star, dubbed The One Who Gives Love by American fans.

Childhood and youth

Valery Leontiev was born in March 1949 in the village of Ust-Usa, in Komi. His family had nothing to do with art. The Leontievs lived modestly. Father Yakov Stepanovich was a Pomor from the Arkhangelsk region, was engaged in reindeer husbandry and worked as a veterinarian. Mother Ekaterina Ivanovna Klyuts was born in Ukraine. The boy was late child- he was born when his mother was 43 years old. In addition to him, I grew up in the family older sister Maya (died 2005).

Soon from Ust-Usa, the family moved to their father's homeland, to the Arkhangelsk region. Early childhood Valeria took place in the village of Verkhniye Matigory. When their son was 12 years old, the Leontievs moved again, this time to the Ivanovo region. We stopped in the city of Yuryevets, on the picturesque bank of the Volga.

In childhood and adolescence, Valery's relatives noticed that the boy was drawn to creativity. He drew well, was plastic and sang well, even soloed in the school choir. He also participated in school amateur performances and enjoyed going to the drama club. But the boy from a poor family did not even dream of becoming an artist or singer.

At the end of the 8th grade, Leontyev passed his documents to the radio technical school in Muromsk, but failed the exams and returned to finish his studies at his native school. Apparently, the genes of the Pomor father affected, and Valery more and more begins to dream of work related to the sea. In high school, after graduating from school, he practically decided to leave for Vladivostok and enroll in an oceanologist, but for a family with a modest income, such expenses were not within their power.

At that time, Valery Leontyev realized that there was another profession with which he would like to connect his life. And he took a chance and in 1966 submitted documents to the Moscow GITIS, choosing acting department... But the indecision and complex of the provincial did their job: at the last moment Leontyev changed his mind about acting.

Returning to Yuryevets, Valery immediately went to work. In his youth, the future pop star tried many professions: he worked as an electrician, a postman, a laborer at a brick factory and even a tailor. But he had to get an education, and Valery entered the mining institute in Vorkuta.

In the evening he studied, and during the day he earned money for a living, working as a laboratory assistant at a research institute and a draftsman at a design institute. Leontiev completed his studies only until the 3rd year and dropped out of school - his soul did not lie to future profession... But the further, the more I wanted to sing and perform on stage. The spotlights and the full halls of the cheering audience attracted the guy more and more.

Music

The beginning of the creative biography of Valery Leontiev was laid in 1972. His first solo concert took place on April 9 at the Vorkuta House of Culture. The first success inspired the young performer, and soon he became the winner of the regional competition "We are looking for talents" in Syktyvkar.

The reward for the victory was study in Moscow, in the All-Union Creative Workshop of Variety Art Georgy Vinogradov. But Valery did not stay in the capital for long. Without completing the course, he returned to Syktyvkar, to the local philharmonic society.

Soon Leontiev becomes a member of the Echo collective. The musicians prepared 2 programs and, together with the new soloist Valery Leontyev, toured almost all cities Soviet Union... But the concerts were not held in large halls, but only on the stages of local houses of culture.

Only in 1978 Valery first performed on the stage of the concert hall in Gorky. The concert was a great success, and the singer received an invitation to work in the city philharmonic society. He agreed, but on the condition that he be sent to the Yalta All-Union musical competition... And so it happened. For the performance of the musical ballad "In Memory of a Guitarist" in Yalta, Leontiev was awarded the first prize.

The competition was broadcast throughout the country. Summer next year Valery Leontyev has a new, resounding victory - the main prize at the 16th International Festival pop song "Golden Orpheus" in Sopot. There he first appeared in an original stage costume of his own making, for which a Bulgarian fashion magazine awarded him a special prize.

Together they prepared an act that was filmed for the Blue Light program. However, the audience did not have a chance to see him - he was cut out. At the same time, further joint creativity, as well as victories in international competitions, made Leontyev famous.

Oddly enough, the black streak in the artist's life began because of his success at the festival in Yerevan. He received the popularity prize, but fell into disgrace due to a compliment from American journalists who wrote that Leontyev was similar in style of performance.

After receiving eight classes of education, the artist went to enter the technical school of the city of Murom, but his attempt failed, and the singer returned to continue his studies at school. After the tenth grade, the guy planned to apply to the Faculty of Oceanology. But for this it was necessary to go to Far East, but he did not manage to collect money for a ticket. The singer decides to travel to Moscow, where he wants to study at GITIS. But, frightened and not waiting for the entrance exams, he takes the certificate and returns to Yuryevets.

And the reaper and the reader

Before becoming famous, Valery studied many professions, and he had to work part-time as an electrician and a postman and a laborer at a factory. In addition, Valery tried to be a tailor, and even a fashion designer - these professions will be useful to him in the future to create stage costumes.

A few years later, the musician again tries to graduate from the university and enters distance learning in the Institute. But science is not particularly interested in a young man, and therefore Valery leaves a higher institution.

In parallel with training, the singer works in the laboratory of one of the scientific institutions, and moonlights as a draftsman in KBI. V free time continues to perform in amateur creative circles and continues to sing.

First success

Leontiev made his debut on the big stage in 1971. Then in Vorkuta the regional competition festival "Song-71" was held, and the artist performed there with his composition "Carnival", taking the second place of honor. A few months later, the musician gave his first solo performance on the stage of the Vorkuta Palace of Culture - this moment can be considered the beginning of his career.

Further, the young performer went to Syktyvkar, where he won a prize at the amateur competition “We are looking for talents”. Leontyev was sent to study at the All-Union School of Variety Art in Moscow. But Leontyev did not finish his studies, and a year later he returned to Syktyvkar together with the team created by Alexander Strelchenko.

In "Dreamers" the artist did not stay long, and a year later he released own program which was called "Joy on the Road".

Later he got into the "Echo" group, and the collective released a concert program "Carnival in the North". The next album "Echo in the North" was popular, and with it the collective traveled almost the entire territory of the Soviet state. True, the scenes of performances were most often the venues of provincial recreation centers.

First merits

  • On the first all-union competition held in Yalta (1975), Valery received a prize for performing the song "In Memory of a Guitarist".
  • In the 80th, the musician became the owner of the title best performer at the international competition "Golden Orpheus". Moreover, not only his singing was noted here, but also a stage costume that Valery made himself.
  • The artist's popularity is growing, and he performs in many national concert programs along with other popular performers. Valeria is applauded on the stages of Oktyabrsky and Luzhniki.
  • In 1981, the musician became the winner of the "Yerevan-81" festival.

Political persecution and loss of voice

Leontyev's shocking speeches did not go unnoticed by foreign journalists, and many of them began to compare Valery with Mick Jager. This turn of events angered Soviet officials, and the artist began to be denied performances. This period was one of the most difficult in the artist's life, because without a stage he could no longer imagine his existence. An old friend, Raymond Pauls, helped the singer Valery Leontiev to get out of political disgrace. This famous composer without fear of the authorities' condemnation, he constantly invited Leontyev to perform at his concerts. And soon, the incident was forgotten and Leontiev again began to appear at all major events.

In 1982, a difficult moment came in the artist's life when, after removing a tumor on his throat, the question was whether he would sing. To distract himself, Valery decided to get a higher education and entered the Krupskaya Institute (Leningrad). It soon became clear that the singer had not lost the opportunity to perform his compositions, and therefore the artist went on a big tour about it. But, despite the rather busy schedule of tours and concerts, Leontiev graduated from a higher institution.

During its professional activity Valery has released 25 studio albums and has had an incredible number of performances. Each of his shows is accompanied by a "theatrical" performance directed by the singer himself. In addition, his concert costumes have become a legend, because during the "Soviet regime" no performer allowed himself such bold and shocking images. His songs became insanely popular and could be heard from every receiver. Hits "Hang-glider", "Everyone wants to love", "Margarita", "Casanova" and many others quickly found themselves at the top of all the charts, and kept in the lead for quite a long time.

Valery always took his personal life very seriously, and never commented on his relationship. Perhaps because of this secrecy with outrageousness, the artist was often accused of homosexuality. He steadfastly withstood these rumors, not defending himself or trying to refute them. Despite the increased secrecy, journalists managed to establish that the singer has long been married to bass player Lyudmila Isakovich. They began to live together since the distant 72nd year, but only in 1998 they officially registered their relationship. Their 44-year marriage breaks all celebrity fickle stereotypes.

The artist's life now

The artist released his last studio album in 2009, and for the time being nothing new appeared in the artist's repertoire. The number of concerts and performances also cannot be called numerous, but this is not surprising given the singer's age. How old is Leontiev now? According to the passport data, the musician is already 67 years old, but you can't tell from his appearance. After all, Leontyev always followed his figure, and therefore earned the title of "sex symbol" of the Russian stage.

In addition, the singer does not deny that he has repeatedly gone under the surgeon's knife in order to rejuvenate. In 2014, the artist's jubilee concert took place, at which he celebrated his 65th birthday. And looking at this fit, youthful and energetic person, no one would have guessed about his real age. So, perhaps in the future he will please us with new hits more than once.
