"The center of culture is inextinguishable...":
One year in the life of Library No. 4
On February 25, 2011, an unusual event took place in the reading room of the library No. 4 - creative report to the population "Inextinguishable Hearth of Culture…": One Year in the Life of Library No. 4". A little more than a year has passed since library No. 4 (the former library of the Trade Union Committee of the Sebryakovo Cement Plant) moved to the city centralized system Mikhailovka.
The festively decorated library welcomed the guests with a new large banner “Welcome to Library No. 4! We are glad to see you!”, where the short info about the library, its emblem, hymn, photographs from the most interesting public events. Creative report started with informational talks "About our library - in the new century": Library No. 4 in 2010”, where the main goals and objectives of the library in 2010, benchmarks, achievements and problems that the library had to face were announced, and aexpress review of the exhibition-report “Get acquainted, we work for you!". Here were presented plans and reports of the library, albums of mass events, a colorful album-report on the work of patriotic education, folder-dossier "Inform everyone about yourself!": Library No. 4 based on press and Internet materials in 2010»; bibliographic products of the library (more than 20 titles), scripts and developments (library lessons, business games, literary evenings, etc.).
At the end of the report was offered to the attention of the guests literary-recommendatory almanac "Meeting with new literature", which included:

“No matter how many books you read, there is nothing newer than a magazine!”: New Periodicals(attention was paid to those publications that are subscribed only by library No. 4: the newspaper "Pensionerskaya Pravda", the magazines "Brother", " Far East”,“ Planet of Women ”,“ Reading Together ”: Navigator in the World of Books ”,“ Provincial News ”, etc.).
The report ended with bright speeches by the guests, both representatives of the administration and those organizations with which the library cooperates.

Old-timers (reading experience over 30 years) spoke very warmly and emotionally about their library, about the changes that had taken place in it. WEEK OF COSMONAUTOICS
"The Star Step of Humanity"
By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, 2011 was declared the Year of Cosmonautics in Russia. This is no coincidence: in 2011 we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first manned flight into space - Yuri Gagarin. April 12 is recognized as an international holiday this year.
In connection with these events of all-Russian and international significance, a Week of space and astronautics "Star step of mankind" (April 5 - 12). During this week, the following events were held:
April 6 -
together with the Children's Sector of the City Palace of Culture as part of film festival dedicated to astronautics, in the big hall for students 5 - 6 cells. School No. 4 prepared a special program. Librarian No. 4 A.I. Mikheeva held for the audience An hour of learning the history of Russia "Harbingers of the first manned flight into space - biocosmonauts", which sounded declassified information about experiments on animals and their flights into space. Students watched the modern cartoon "Squirrel and Strelka". The event was attended by 126 people.
April 7 - was prepared information leaflet “Yu.V. Malyshev: Our Countryman in Space Orbit (series Our Famous Countrymen). It presents biographical information about the pilot-cosmonaut, as well as literary and electronic sources of information about him.
April 8 - together with the Children's Sector of the GDK, Library No. 4 took part in "School of Cosmonautics" which brought together students of the 4th grade of school No. 4. The guys listened conversation-information "Pioneers of space"(about test dogs, Yuri Gagarin, A. Leonov and others). And then the children took part in the competitive and entertainment program prepared by the head. children's sector V.G. Kuznetsova. The event was attended by 43 people.
April 11-12 - directly in the library number 4 passed STOCK Cosmonautics Day is our joy and pride. Throughout the Action, librarians wore badges "Happy Cosmonautics Day!", what drew attention to the holiday itself; periodically sounded audio concert “Songs about space and astronauts"(on the subscription).
One of the highlights of the Action was blitz-poll of readers and residents of the city “Today is Cosmonautics Day. For me it - …", which was attended by 21 people (from elementary school students to the elderly). They expressed their opinions about the Day of Cosmonautics in prose and verse, thought and ironized, were proud and rejoiced. These were people of different professions, social status (from a technician to a correspondent for the newspaper "Prizyv"). But, basically, all the reviews were united by a sense of pride and patriotism for the exploits of our astronauts. Here is another holiday, in addition to May 9, which unites Russians into one community.

Thanks to blitz poll, many readers thought, began to remember, talk about this holiday. The conversation smoothly turned to the impressions about documentaries watched with new declassified materials that were shown on central TV channels on the eve of the holiday, and then to publications devoted to this topic and presented at the exhibition. The attention of readers was attracted by materials from the periodical press, new publications about Yu. Gagarin, K. Tsiolkovsky (series "Our history. 100 great names")
Also included in the Promotion program space quiz "Test your knowledge in the field of astronautics", which was very liked by the readers, all without exception, because here sweet prizes were given for the correct answers - sweets with the cosmic name "Andromeda", "Cosmos", "Polar Lights".
Students who came to the library during the Promotion to make essays were offered to look at computer presentations "Road to the Universe", "Morning of the space age", which reflected brief, and at the same time interesting information about space and astronautics.
On the days of the Campaigns "Cosmonautics Day - our joy and pride!" took place presentation of the information leaflet “Yu.V. Malyshev: Our countryman in space orbit. Readers, especially the elderly, immediately got acquainted with its content, shared their impressions of what they had read. One copy of the leaflet was donated to the children's sector of the GDK, to nearby educational institutions.
In general, summing up Weeks of space and astronautics "Star step of mankind" in library No. 4, we can draw the following conclusions, show the effectiveness of activities:
1) Cosmonautics Day - April 12 - is the same holiday that unites people as Victory Day - May 9 . Almost without exception, readers feel a sense of pride, joy, patriotism for their country, scientists and astronauts. The holiday on April 12 causes only positive emotions.
2) 169 people attended the events within the framework of the Week of Space and Cosmonautics, 59 sources were viewed. In Promotions “Cosmonautics Day is our joy and pride!” 56 people took part, of which 21 people took part in the blitz survey.

Military history almanac

Within the framework of this page of the almanac, an emotional description of the feat of 16-year-old Vanya Fedorov, Sasha Filippov and others was heard. The 1st page of the almanac ended with a demonstration two excerpts from documentaries "Stalingrad without propaganda"(about the feat of young female divers on the Volga) and "Heroes are not born"(about the feat of the Hero of the Soviet Union, the only woman tanker Maria Oktyabrskaya).
The second page of the almanac - "The feat of mercy"- was dedicated nurse girls, whose names are forever inscribed in the Book of Memory of the Great Patriotic War. An interesting story was heard here about Russian nurses who performed their daily exploits on all fronts, including during the war with Japan in 1945. Most of those named were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union. The main idea of this page of the almanac:"Heroes do not die" - heroes live as long as we remember them, as long as the memory of them is alive. Time has no power to consign them to oblivion.
The students were shown computer presentation "Heroes of the Great Patriotic War", which told about the exploits of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, Alexander Matrosov, Nikolai Gastello, Nikolai Bocharov, Vladimir Matveev. Also in the presentation were presented books by famous front-line writers - V. Nekrasov, Y. Bondarev, B. Vasiliev, V. Bykov, V. Kondratiev and others, contemporary authors writing about the war today - V. Pershanin, R. Kozhukharov, G. Sviridova and others.

TYPES AND FORMS OF EVENTS IN THE LIBRARY
Methodological recommendations to help librarians during events These recommendations are based on methodological materials posted on the Internet on the websites of publicly accessible Russian libraries.The materials cover the practical and theoretical aspects of the mass (cultural, educational, cultural and leisure) work of libraries, reflect the modern understanding of the forms and methods of library activities, describe the experience in organizing mass events of various types and forms, present relevant interactive forms of work with readers.
Library services - the totality of all activities of the library to meet the needs of its users through the provision of library services.
Classification of methods library services:
1. Critical-analytical methods are designed to provide a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of printed works, or individual problems outlined in them. This includes reader, correspondence discussions of books that contribute to the development of critical thinking skills, independent work with a book, the formation of aesthetic views and tastes. As well as literary debates, commented loud reading, evenings of questions and answers.

Group service is a set of forms and methods aimed at meeting the cultural and informational needs of reader groups united by common interests.
The goals of group work with children are to show the children the charm of reading, to teach them to love a book so that through literature they perceive "reasonable, kind, eternal"; so that, having made reading the primary need, vital food for the heart and mind, children become conscious citizens of their homeland, spiritually rich personalities. It is necessary to show that the book and reading are an inexhaustible source of knowledge and information, that reading can bring aesthetic pleasure, and the book is indeed a friend and adviser.
The purpose of this methodological consultation is to acquaint young librarians with the forms of group library work, and to remind experienced librarians about them, thereby ensuring a variety of activities in public libraries. Methodological recommendations will assist in planning the activities of the library.
Forms library events The traditional form of group events are various types of loud readings:
Commented reading is a form of oral acquaintance with works of literature, which involves reading the text aloud with the reader's comments and discussing what has been read;

Specialist's Day or Subject Day - thematic events for teachers and specialists working with children, held by district methodological associations on the basis of the library. Foul language has embraced almost all ages.
2. The history of the origin of foul language.

It is a misconception that the generally accepted opinion is that mat is a Slavic tradition. Foul language in Russia until about the middle of the 19th century was not only not common even in the countryside, but was also a criminal offense. Later, the foul-mouthed person was publicly flogged.
During the time of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov, it was simply impossible to hear swearing on the street. And this is explained not only by the modesty and delicacy of our ancestors, but also by the policy pursued by the state. Foul language has become the "norm" for the modern, if not the bearer of the "great and mighty Russian language", then its uncomplaining "listener". Think about the facts! Over the past 20 years, the number of children with mental and physical retardation has increased 10 times, more than 80% of newborns are sick, only every 10 school graduates are healthy, the number of girls with chronic diseases has increased, and these are future mothers, carriers of the nation's gene pool; the daily mortality of the population of Russia is more than 2,500 people a day. In terms of total life expectancy, Russia ranks 133rd in the world among men and 100th among women, 54% of young people born in the 80s are not able to graduate from high school. There are many reasons for this misfortune, but not the last role among them is played by our verbal promiscuity. Today, schoolchildren, young people, adult men and women speak obscenities. "Mat" comes from the TV screens. Is this bad habit really harmless?

5. But how does mate affect a person?
I must say that the problem of foul language, the study of its effect on the human body, on his spiritual and physical health, has been and is being dealt with by many scientists, researchers from different countries.
Among the first scientists who dealt with this issue closely was Ivan Borisovich Belyavsky, Doctor of Biological Sciences. He tried to figure out how the human body is affected not by some huge blocks of information, but by simple monosyllabic words.
Belyavsky's seventeen-year study, which was gradually joined by a large group of his colleagues, was crowned with a real discovery. Scientists have been able to prove that every word we utter has a very distinct effect on our genes. The result of this influence with persistent (positive or negative) impact after some time is not just the transfer of modified genes to offspring, but also a change in a person’s own genetic code regarding the rate of aging and life span!
In a dissertation on this topic, it was proved with mathematical precision that not only a person has some kind of energy, but each of his words carries its own energy charge. And this very word affects our genes, either prolonging youth or bringing old age closer. Turns out, different words differently charged, and just as in physics, there can be only two charges: positive and negative. Any swearing comes with a minus sign.
Already in the early 90s, this group of scientists published a book with many examples related to long-term observations of specific people. All these people were of the same age, but only one part of them was principled foul language with experience, and the second - opponents of strong expressions. Modern libraries are unique repositories of various knowledge, including on issues related to patriotic education, which covers almost all areas of the library:
study and formation of information needs of certain categories of users;
· the formation and use of funds (historical, artistic, local history, etc.) of literature to help patriotic education;
· coordination of activities of libraries with other institutions and organizations;
· development of local history as an integral part of historical and patriotic education.
The library, having huge information resources, is able to contribute to familiarization with the native word, history and modern life country. Given the "advancement" of the younger generation in matters of informatization, libraries need to regularly improve the effectiveness of the forms and methods of work on the patriotic education of youth. The palette of events held should be diverse not only in subject matter, but also in form.
Along with the traditional forms of work, libraries should also use new, non-traditional forms of promoting historical and patriotic books: library seasons, role-playing games, visiting reading rooms, biblio-tours, hours of reading pleasure, historical collage.

"Moscow fire".
Today this expression is used to characterize the events that took place in Moscow in September 1812, immediately after Napoleon's troops entered the city. In the middle of the XIX century. this proverb had a slightly different meaning. “Moscow fire” is all the events of the summer of 1812 that developed in Moscow and around it. This is the anxious expectation of the Napoleonic army, and preparation for defense, and the departure of residents from the city, and the Battle of Borodino, and the excesses of the French in Moscow, and fires, and the return of Russian troops, and the restoration of the city. At the end of September, preparing to leave Moscow, Napoleon gave the order to blow up the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral and the remaining stone buildings, which also caused a new wave of fires.
